One thing to correct you, up till 2012 the X3 uses an N52 engine. A beautiful 6 cylinder reliable engine with nice power. Afterwards they switched them over to the 4 cyclinders!
I bought a used X3 28i and it didn’t have an owners manual. I seriously need one. I didn’t realize it had heated seats and steering wheel lol. Oh man it’s my first BMW and like you said, it didn’t grab me until I drove it. Really nice!!
Monica, I had my X3 for 3 yrs, have an owners manual, and could not find the button for the heated steering wheel until i can to youtube...so much in this car to learn!
@@AA-kf7uf LOL yes! Vine to find out I don’t have heated anything 😂 I was so disappointed. But the people who owned it lived in Texas so I guess it wasn’t a must have for them. I think I’ve finally figured most things out now. Thanks to these YT videos!!
Just got a 2011 today, very happy with it for my daily commuter! Better on gas than the newer Evoque I was driving, has a few features I really like that that doesn't, mainly the 360 camera. Doesn't have navigation sadly so I have to get a Bluetooth adapter but not a problem 😂
Hi, I want to ask about a X3 f25 m packet 11/2012 2.0 diesel with a lot of kilometres about 380.000. The previous owner had made maintain service in a specialized BMW workshop and it costs almost 6.000€ in 28/07/2022.. is it worth to look this kind of car with this kilometres? Is in good price..
Love this model; had a 2011 xdrive28 with a bullet proof N/A I6 (surprisingly fast) . Thinking of getting a 2014 xdrive35i as a weekend toy..... I traded my BMW for a Lexus but I miss the shear fun from driving this small thing.....had a 2012 328i xdrive, but a friend really wanted it so I sold it off. Not in the mood to replace 30k dollar battery packs, so EVs aren't my bag right now. Will have to disagree with you about ride quality. Not only did this ride better than my 3 series, but it felt more "solid" considering it was the SAV variant; and the interior felt better put together and a bit more luxurious than my 3 series. the sedan felt cheaper. Just my two cents. These things are bargains right now.
How about 2011 bmw x3 35i with 120000 miles on it. In terms of the engine and transmission , is it ok if I will buy for this time? Hopefully for your reply soon.
usually not the best idea if you plan on daily driving/commuting in it. good chance you’ll end up spending much more in repairs and basic maintenance right away so you might as well put that cash towards a lower mileage example. protect yourself by only buying one with detailed records and get a ppi and compression test done if possible.
In 2014 I bought my first BMW. It was the X3 28i with the Technology package. It was a brand new car. I traded up from my 2004 Infiniti G35. I wanted to love the X3, but it was not a good experience. First problem was the engine light kept coming on. I fought with the service department for 4 years, but they never solved the problem permanently. I finally threatened the lemon law, meaning they would have to take the car back, and suddenly they could fix it! Must have been an expensive fix they did not want to do. Ok, so now that the engine light is off, I wanted to put it in the past, and enjoy my BMW. Then, the skin on the glovebox started to separate from the glove box door frame. WTF. It looked terrible, drooping down like melted plastic. BMW told me the glovebox is considered an accessory, and not covered by warranty. BMW wanted $534 dollars to replace the glovebox. No way!!!!! I looked on the internet and found out lots of people have experienced this problem with the glovebox. So here I am again regretting buying this car. Regretting it because of the problems, and the quality of service provided. On top of that, BMW charges a fortune to service the car. My service experience should have been golden!!!! After 6 years and 8 months, I decided to get rid of this car (only had 70K miles) when another interior element (driver side arm rest) started to deteriorate. I am done with BMW!!!
What really wow, sorry about your experience don't let one car ruin it for the other bmw. I had a infiniti g35 as well. I love it to but needed a upgrade so I got a 2013 and I didn't face the same problem like yours. Good luck.
Fantastic review of the X3 Mike!
Very articulate and to the point, you earned my sub!
Thanks for the sub!
What a deal too! $14,995 is a great price. Great description and video. You got my sub and like.

We just ordered a 2012 with only 58k miles on it. Super excited for its arrival!

@@Monica-f2l how many miles on the car when you bought it? How is it running?
@@alouise3557 There’s about 130,000 miles when I bought it. I’ve spent some money on it but it’s been on maintenance basically. It’s been a good car.
@@Monica-f2lhow’s the car been to you now? Any major repairs needed?
How good is it in heavy snow?

trade for a newer one. The pre 2014 facelift engines have chain problems
How is driving today? Looking a t 2011 xdrive35i with 76,000 miles on it might buy
Thank you for giving a very detailed video. Looking at 2913 x3 35i🤩
Not a twin turbo. It’s a single “twin-scroll” turbo. Allows for more even low and high end torque.
Good catch, Byron.
What kind of headlights
what kind of headlights are these I have the same car and I can’t figure out the name
They are called halo lights.
Love this car

Nice car to keep it on the driveway, engine is made 50% hard plastic
Steering wheel is standard on most cars Monica, good luck
Jag Själv She meant heated steering wheel.
