Would love to see that pantry clean out! This week I decided to eat from the pantry/freezer as you often suggest, and spent $7 for a few random veggies. It's so FUN to see the empty space appear in freezer/pantry and spend just $7 for the week on groceries! Thank you for the inspiration to clean out the food before it expires, and not to clean out our checking account with unneeded food purchases!

I would love to see that challenge. Your pantry, cooking videos are some of my favorites. You get so creative in ways to use up items and they’re so fun to watch.
Couple things here. I’ve found that the best time to find discounted items at my Kroger store is Saturday Mornings. The selection is huge!
I have started to meal prep and make copycat sausage McMuffins with egg and cheese for my breakfast at work. I also pair it with an apple. Doing that gives me a good size breakfast for only 80 cents per day. I can get 5 breakfasts out of the same price as one breakfast from McDonald’s. Love all these great tips you share with all of us!
Yogurt can be cheaper if you just buy a big container of it and dole it out to the kids in a small plastic container. That's how I buy it and I take it to work with fresh berries on top. Or banana or whatever fruit they like. ❤🎉 I buy a huge one of organic and it's cheaper than paying for the individual not organic. You can get the plain and add a little sugar to it.
@@user-bk3nr2mx8i it may be cheaper on sale than organic. Lol. Obviously do what is cheaper. I shop Aldi and I don't see anything as cheap and healthy as Aldi plain organic with me adding my own fruit. ♥️
Yogurt can also be as cheap as a gallon of milk if you make it yourself it’s not hard at all.

@agabaga12 That would work to make Greek yogurt. I kinda like the Convenience of the single because of the variety of favors. I do purchase Greek for my husband's lunch and the other for everyone. I reuses the cups, and my husband uses them at work too. Lactaid milk is expensive, and that is what we drink here. We don't have a sensitivity to the yogurts we eat.

I’ve been here since 2018, when we had a few foster children join our family and sort of unexpectedly became a large family over night. Your videos helped me so much! I’ve always been impressed that you made feeding everyone real food on a tight budget seem very realistic.
Christine, your challenges are just wonderful to watch. You give me lots of ideas to using up what I have that kind of sits it's spot for well...too long cuz I don't know how to incorporate it into my daily menu planning. Yes, I would love to see another challenge. ❤️❤️

Love pantry challenges! My favorite are the one's that are no spend, although I realize not everyone can pull that off, especially when hubbies and kiddos are involved. I did a no spend month challenge and felt so proud of myself. As a matter of fact, when covid first hit, I didn't grocery shop for 2 and a half months. Of course, before I hunkered down, I hit Costco and stocked up, 😊!
Always up for a grocery challenge! $200 a month is what I’m shooting for. There are only 4 of us, but we’re all adults!

We buy our pork and beef from local farmers. I just scored chicken at WalMart - 10# bags of leg quarters for $7.78 each! Can't beat that. Bought 4 bags and used my FoodSaver to put them in the freezer :)

I can fully agree with the emergency case of something. I don't know how many times I've about to get off work and my little brother texted me, wondering what was for lunch. Having a spare two boxes of mac and cheese and a package of hotdogs in the fridge, or two or three spare packs of ramen in the cabinet with a scrap or two of lunchmeat ham for very uncultured version of Japanese ramen had helped so much when I was exhausted from working an almost 11 hr day, not including any online training that I would do later in the evening before starting another day of work.

We don't have any discount stores either. We have a Grocery Outlet but their prices are as high or higher than other stores.
Do you have a Kroger Corp owned store? ... they go by different names in different parts of the country. Their practices are ... a discount shelf unit in the produce section for shelf stable produce. They refill it every morning and gets cleaned out fairly quickly. Bags of apples, avocados, peppers, onions, etc., are either mixed or all one type for $1.00/bag. Other foods in the produce Dept, like greens, salad mixes, etc are kept in with the regular priced items. That's the same throughout the store. It means you need to cruise the store, including the meat dept. (I found 1 lb ground Turkey marked down to 1.62 a couple momths ago and bought all 4 pkgs)

I want to see a challenge where you pull out your entire deep freeze and work on making foods with that. Like empty the freezer. I'm in the middle of doing this and I'm finding out that some of my meats and veggies were starting to get freezer burn. I'm glad I'm doing this!❤

We don’t have a discount store near and I am having back surgery by the end of the year …. So all tips appreciated! I will be out of work for a year with no pay so things will be tight! I have moved 3 times in the last four years so that has been a natural way of using things up (especially perishable things in the fridge/freezer) so I don't have as much of a stock built up but that's exactly the kind of challenge I could see myself doing one day too. So fun and get rid of so many things. Using up things brings me a little thrill lol!
