RC1, thanks for your bravery in trying out Sokoninaru and your honest reaction 🤗. They are a math-ish power trio that combines complex math-rock elements with smooth J-pop vocals. I love that combination although some (many 😂) find the math-rock elements a bit jarring. This song is their most viewed as it creates a kinda "WTF" was that for first time listeners🤔. As others have mentioned, the live version is something to behold and worth checking out. However, as an introduction to the band I think a better song is Brilliant City (MV) as it has a very strong melody while incorporating their math-rock elements in a less jarring manner. I enjoyed your reaction because your initial feelings about the song were very similar to mine. However, after multiple listens and checking out more of their catalogue I now find their sound a bit addictive and listen to them every day. Hope you check them out again and thanks again 🤟👋 🙏.

I also used to describe them in this way, bcs that's what you read about, but after becoming a fan of actual math rock I can say I was always misled what math rock actually is, bcs this ain't it, neither is Polyphia or Ichika Nito for example, but they have some aspects of it. Sokoninaru's sound is more akin to Post Hardcore, Post Rock incorporating some math-ish style playing and their thing of hard stopping or quickly switching up sections is their own style, it doesn't have anything to do with math rock, all just my opinion though.

@@Cellyestial Agree. Math-ish elements but not math-rock. They use fairly standard time signatures that are a bit hidden to untrained ears .

@@BMCanuck I'm also a fan of Ling Tosite Sigure and their genres are listed as Post Hardcore, Math Rock, Indie & Emo for example, never having listened to those I could never explain to someone what I'm listening to or what elements is part of what, now with more experience I understand which parts are inspired by which bands or styles and I get that the english documentation of japanese bands is pretty bad on google, most are just labelled J-Rock

@@Cellyestial I think Sokoninaru started as a LTS cover band and Juka specifically recruited for a female bassist/vocalist. I like both groups but prefer Juka’s and Mizaki’s vocals. Hard to label Japanese bands as many enjoy crossing and/or mixing genres. That is part of the reason why I like them.

@BMCanuck Of course I will. I noted "Brilliant City" to check out next. I appreciate your understanding and patience as I dive into this new sound that's reaching my 58 year old ears. I always try to be open to the intent of the musician, not the fans, but also share how the music makes me feel at that moment, thus a true, honest reaction. I agree that some songs need to be listened to more than once and/or check out a different song from the artists. This has happened to me with the band "The Sixsters". My initial music video turned me off as their shocking appearance and how it made me feel. But I then thought let me look at another video and, well, you'll have to watch my reaction to see what happened:) I know some songs need another listen for it to become more attractive to the listener. Thank you again for your compassion. It's good people like you that keep me going as some other fans can just kill me in the comments. It got so bad with one band's fans that I let the bad ones get to me enough that I took down the video. I don't need that kind of hate in my life. I just don't take it that seriously that someone dislikes my favorite band. Peace, Robert.

any song sung in japonese could be an anime song, anime have everything in the intro rock, metal, opera, classical, ballad ,eletronic, folk, pop, male, female, kids, mature or old people singing so when you said "this song sound like anime song" i'm like metalica songs could be an anime song if ware sung in japonese, its more simple you to say that you don't like the japonese songs and age has nothing to do with this, my grandfather like this song and he looks older then you

True. Thanks for the information, I didn't know. My very limited exposure to anime has been high pitched vocals and high and fast keyboard sounds. Thanks for your input and thanks for watching.
