Playing with envelopes, LFOs and looping patterns.
These are waves caught in a trance of repetition and minimal variation.
Working with modular synthesizers can be, and is most pleasurable to me, when it is a form of meditation. Looping patterns and infinite physical tweaking have a way to make moments of depression subside, sadness becomes a joyous wave of sweet melancholy.
A barely discernible layer of FM Radio waves flowing under the surface via the ADDAC 102 VC FM Radio was planned, but hit mute on it for this recording.
Three sisters VCF Mangrove Formant Oscillator Just Friends Function Generator Cold Mac Magic. Intellijel QUAD VCA using Just Friends Voltage Control to open and close the amplifiers. Mutable Instruments BEADS adding burnt tape sounds that bounce around and rise up with the Manifold Generator waves of Just Friends.
It makes me wonder if Mutable Tides would be a nice addition, definitely thinking of the moon pushing and pulling on the tides of existence. Get lost in sound drifting in a sea of peace. Maybe not this track, but there will be otehrs mor fitting.
Joranalogue CONTOUR I adding some bouncy envelopes as well. Instruo Saich adding a nice drone base layer. Always base layer for intense winters. We are synthing in the north, mind you.
