Depuis 2020, @Kanonenfieber.official explore l'horreur de la Première Guerre mondiale à travers un black metal puissant et émouvant. Petit cours d’Histoire au Hellfest.
Kanonenfieber, originaire de Bamberg, est un projet de black metal unique en son genre, monté en 2020 par Noise, un musicien polyvalent et passionné. En studio, Noise joue de tous les instruments et assure la production de ses œuvres. Sur scène, il se concentre en revanche sur le chant, alors que des musiciens invités s’occupent de la partie instrumentale.
L'idée de Kanonenfieber est née d’un échange entre Noise et un de ses amis fan d’Histoire. Ensemble, ils décident de créer un album sur la Première Guerre mondiale. Pour le contenu de leurs chansons, ils s'inspirent alors de lettres et de documents originaux de cette époque, offrant une perspective authentique et poignante sur les horreurs de la guerre.
Le premier album de Kanonenfieber, Menschenmühle, a été enregistré entre septembre et novembre 2020 dans le Noisebringer Studio. Noise a pris en charge tous les aspects de l'enregistrement, du mixage au mastering. L'album a par la suite été acclamé pour sa fusion de black metal et de death metal. La musique de Kanonenfieber incorpore également quelques éléments propres au doom death et au post-rock. Le résultat ? Une atmosphère sombre et épique rappelant des groupes comme 1914 et Bolt Thrower.
En plus de Menschenmühle (2021), Kanonenfieber a sorti plusieurs EPs et singles, dont Yankee Division (2022), Stop The War (2022), The Fusilier (2022), et Submarine Man (2023). Ses morceaux continuent d'explorer les thèmes de la guerre ou de la souffrance avec une intensité et une authenticité rares et touchantes.

Imagine a German, WW1-themed band playing the biggest French metal festival, reminiscing the gruelsome, war-ridden past and the atrocities committed between our two nations. Captured by what has become one of the symbols of franco-allemand friendship in ARTE. It's almost too corny to be true. I feel like people back then would have been proud to see what has been achieved - never let it change.

If you consider that "Kanonenfieber" comes from a medium-sized City in Bavaria (where almost no one knows!) and is actually still quite Unknown, it's pretty amazing what they have achieved in such a short time...
To be behind a mask or wearing a mask is more attractive to people than without a mask. Because everyone wants to solve this mystery. And being unknown is a good key for success.

Ich habe selten so ein geiles Konzert gesehen.
Es ist keine Glorifizierung oder Verherrlichung und der Sänger schafft es durch seine Performance die Verzweiflung der Soldaten im Ansatz zu zeigen.

I adore Noise's performances. The whole show is a grim pantomime but him mimicing hammering on the side of a sinking u-boat brings another level to it. The man just knows what he's doing at every step. A consummate artist.
Im Westen nichts Neues, aber mit Metal. Remarque wäre stolz.

Kanonenfieber ist ein absoluter Höhenpunkt in der Welt der extremen Musik. Tiefgang und musikalisches Können zeichnet diese Band aus. Ein Lob an Bandbegründer NOISE!

@@germanCrowbar ich muss gestehen dass mir dies nicht bekannt war - was sind die Quellen dazu?
Ich habe ein wenig mal geschaut - wenn man Quellen wie dem BR glauben darf muss man eine Unterscheidung machen zwischen der Brigade Asow und der Asow Bewegung.
Letztere bildete sich aus der ersteren und sind klar Nazis (da stimme ich deinem 🤮 voll und ganz zu).
Aber - und hier hoffe ich einfach mal dass das wahr ist - ist die Brigade seit ihrer Eingliederung in die Nationalgarde von einem Großteil ihrer Nazi-Wuzeln befreit worden.
Und dass Ukrainer eine Einheit die mehrfach um Maripol gekämpft hat, 2014 sogar erfolgreich und 2022 dabei sogar quasi komplett aufgerieben wurde ehren ist nachvollziehbar in einer Zeit da ihr Land von ihrem größeren Nachbarn angegriffen wird.
Und Kanonenfieber ist klar gegen den Krieg - hier sei nur das Benefiz-Lied "Stop the War" genannt

Casually found about while listening to 1914 and been hooked ever since. Noise is beast both here and with Non Est Deus.

Definitely should! They have a new tour coming up at the end of this year, and they'll be playing songs from a new album that they'll probably release at the same time or slightly after.
I love EDM and metal, when festival season is upon us I'm a happy camper.

Habe sie jetzt 2 mal gesehen, nicht viel erwartet anfangs aber die sind echt heftig gut live, kann ich nur empfehlen da mal hinzugehen

Ich habe sie letztes Jahr mit Batushka in England gesehen. Es war fantastisch! Sie müssen sie im Konzert zu sehen. Sie sind später in diesem Jahr auf Tour gehen.

They put on a fantastic live show, I must say. The vocalist is very expressive and that adds a lot to the performance. I was worried their WW1 gimmick would come across as too stilted on stage.

These are objectively very skilled musicians, which is quite rare in black metal.

It's funny to trigger black metal fans by saying that kanonenfieber is objectively not black metal, because they're actually good.

Es war für mich ein regelrechter Schock fest zustellen das sie ihren ersten Live Auftritt im Nachbardorf hatten und letztes Jahr wieder da waren…..

Nein, Franky ist ein geldgeiler kleiner Lutscher, der am PC 0815 Plastikmetal zusammenschustert. In ein paar Jahren wird kein Hahn mehr nach dem belanglosen Zeug krähen. Seine Mgla Coverband ist auch purer cringe.
Willst du guten modernen Black Metal mit Weltkriegsthema hören, eher mal Panzerfaust auschecken.
Welcher Steilflug? Die selbstgekauften Clicks? Und wenn Gegenwind aufkam, jedesmal seine Anwältin für Baurecht auf einen hetzen? Einfach Albern, er hätte beim Pop-Punk bleiben sollen
Kanonenfieber ist eine wirklich spannende Band! Ich freue mich darauf sie spater im Jahr zu sehen.

Hammer Brutaler Sound; einfach perfekte Abstimmung. Und da hat sich Noise wirklich wirklich gute Musiker für die Live Auftritte gesucht. Der Schlagzeuger ist der Hammer, so schnell und trotzdem so präzise. So wie der Rest der Band auch. Den Gesang von Noise braucht man gar nicht erwähnen, mit das beste was es gibt. Vielen Dank Kanonenfieber!

Honestly I haven't heard of them before. My first impression was "Nah, not really my cup of tea". But I kept it running and in the end I gotta say - they are f***ing awesome! "Die Havarie" is an absolute banger 🤘
