I can't hate Limp Bizkit, they were the perfect gateway band for me at that time.
@Deep Cut Reactions exactly. I think people like to hate on bands that help bring new people in. I was a teenager in Portland Oregon that was mainly listening to country music and watching MTV, so it's songs like this that opened my ears/eyes and mind to hip hop and metal and I feel like I am a better music enjoyer because of it.
1st album was good.
I've been on a bit of a journey with this band....
I was 15 when they BLEW UP on TRL....and nu-metal kinda took over my listening tastes.
Then...I got older, smoked weed, expanded my musical horizons, and concluded....yeah, Limp Bizkit indeed sucks. Then.....I got even older, realized all of life is kinda of one big joke and that LB always got that, from day one. They never pretended to be anything high and mighty. Hell, Fred ascended out of a f*cking toilet at their Woodstock show.
Looking back on it all, and now seeing the band still around today, it's all pretty obvious that they decided to quite intentionally accept the nu-metal butt-rock frat/bro-rawk label and run with it....and really commit to THAT sound, that vibe, that aesthetic choice.
And you know what? There's a certain creativity in doing that. These days the musical hipster elite reads Pitchfork articles about hyper-pop and how Max Martin written Britney Spears songs were legit groundbreaking. And I'm one of those people. I just happen to think nu-metal ALSO deserves a reassessment and some overdue respect. The truly good classic transcendent stuff always got the respect....think Tool and Deftones.
But Orgy's first 2 albums, Korn's first 3 or 4 albums, LB's first 3 albums, hell...even Staind's Break the Cycle and Creed's trio of albums....they're all kinda sorta terrible....but also objectively excellent??
I still remember the day I was forced to do a double take concerning Limp Bizkit. I watched this random indie movie called The Education of Charlie Banks. It was quite good. Starred Jesse Eisenberg and Sebastian Stan....and was a coming of age movie set in the 70s about class hierarchy and the cycle of violence.....and it was a damn fine movie.
Then the credits roll and I see......Directed by Fred Durst.
Naturally I said out loud, "What?? That Fred Durst??"
Sure enough as it turns out. And apparently he also hosted these jazz music nights or something. Made me reassess who the guy is.
Also, and lastly, Wes Borland is nuts and can write chuggy semi-tone bendy dissonant harmonics riffage better than most anyone.
I also like Coldplay for anyone who's keeping score. Those first 4 albums are all deeply solid albums.
But Nickelback......irredeemable. And deservedly so. :D
Limp Bizkit was the biggest band in 99 early 2000s
KoRn, Linkin Park, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Bloodhound Gang, and Crazy Town were on heavy rotation when I was a pre-teen. Bullying and home life was so fukin awful and those bands were amongst many others to help release the rage I was desperately trying to contain.
However, most times, it just made me want to fight, though😬 lol

Limp Bizkit has always made me happy. They’re cheesy, but I love the vibe. They’re also pretty self aware. They point it out a lot in the new album that came out earlier this year.

I mean, they suck for sure, but it's like a guilty pleasure. I saw them live at Sonisphere 2014, and the performance had so much energy and the crowd was so into it. So live, I actually enjoyed them more live than on the album.

I swear, the real reason these bands are hated so much is because the people who hate them actually used to love them, but it was at a time where they themselves were cringey as hell because they were lame teenagers, like we all were. So when they hear this music from those bands, they remember back to the time they loved their music and what they were like back then and they are filled with shame and embarrassment and they transfer those feelings to the band because it's easier to hang shit on the music than themselves. I am guilty of this and noticed it in myself, that's where I developed this theory.

Nope still listen to Green Day, KoRn, Metallica, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Pearl Jam, Rush, U2. Music is subjective however outside of Limp Bizkit. Each one of these bands have released classic work.
I love this song. Don’t care. It’s so damn funky and undeniably fun.

Agreed, but that's part of why I love it. The lyrics are entirely self-deprecating (my gf cheated on me but I stay with her for the 'nookie') and silly, which helps me take it less seriously and enjoy the silliness. Their own Spotify description ("Limp Bizkit is an infectious spirit. Any other details are salad dressing.") makes realize they're pretty self-aware with lyrics like "STICK IT UP YOUR (YEAH), STICK IT UP YOUR (YEAH). They're not gonna be everyone's cup of tea, but as someone who grew up on Linkin Park, I can definitely have some dumb fun to their songs. Helps that Wes Borland kinda slaps.

Re-arranged is my favorite song from them. The bassline is killer.
The nice thing about being a metalhead is that I don't listen that intently to lyrics, so Limp Bizkit gave me the heavy angsty music (Wes Borland is well respected in the guitar/metal community) and I was young enough to appreciate the anger in Fred Durst's voice, in spite of how cheesy his lyrics were. No shame.
Wes's guitar work in LB is incredible.

@@babylonkid His other projects are really good too. I'd recommend the first Black Light Burns album Cruel Melody for some great alternative/hard rock. And his first solo album Crystal Machete is a really cool experimental art rock/post rock album.
That's the thing a lot of non-metal heads have a hard time relating to. Generally the guitar riffs, sometimes the atmosphere, and sometimes the raw emotion are the hook, not necessarily the catchy vocals, though they can be a plus. But the actual lyrics easily take a backseat to all of that sometimes. With more extreme stuff people are like, "how do you listen to that, it's just a bunch of screaming?" I'm like, dude did you hear that killer ass riff behind the screaming?

Hated bands, for sure LB fits the bill. That being said, LB were massive in the late 90s early 2000s. Then, it became a fad to hate LB. They are incredible musicians, their shows were incredible. This song was MASSIVE @ the time.Also, Fred and Method Man did a track on this album. And Fred, killed it.

Their shows might've been incredible for kids who wanted to jump around and "break shit" in the pit. But for discerning people who don't buy into the hype; who love music, who love seeing bands and who use their ears... Not so incredible. They were an annoying short-lived fad band. Not just a fad to hate, but a fad to like too. Listening to them now, 20 years later, it's just laughably bad music with zero redeeming features.

Look. Im 50 and when this came out I liked it. Today, I still like it. Its not a work of art or a musical masterpiece but when I hear it, I nod my head and enjoy myself and I'm unapologetic about it to.
Clint Lowery from Sevendust summed up Limp Bizkit perfectly:
"I've seen a lot of bands write off Limp Bizkit, then I've seen Limp Bizkit dismantle those same bands live at festivals. Like it or not, they bring it live every time."

Wes Borland is the reason why I like Limp Bizkit. His unusual guitar tunings and on stage performance is stellar.

Wes and DJ Lethal (Since House of Pain) have always got my respect. Another thing that I have to respect Bizkit for is DJ Premier's work on "N2gether Now". Durst was a big fan of Premo's work, which is the reason he decided to work with them.

This whole album but mainly this song is the definition of the sound of a specific time and place. Love it or hate it, this album was huge when it came out. Personally I really liked Three Dollar Bill, Y’all, but they lost me after that.

It really was huge. I was a sophomore when this album dropped. Every single clique had a favorite song, whether break stuff, nookie, rearranged or whatever. People hated more on their douchey skater boy fans that always wanted to cause problems than the band.
Agreed 3 dollar bill y'all, definitely the best, wore it out in high school, stopped after significant other, it had a couple solid songs but they were just a niche in time band for me. Definition of an era.
Their first album was raw, fresh, and very underrated. However, the cheese made them popular, so they embraced it on this album going forward. The band even has acknowledged that they became a parody of themselves, which led Wes Borland to pursue alternative avenues for a short period. The fact that they named their new album Still Sucks shows how fully aware of the cheese they are.

The first album is fkn awesome. Their best, without a question. It was much heavier, more serious and darker in tone than the latter ones. Hardcore and underground what I like to describe it. Imo, it's the perfect blend between metal and hip hop. It had much more pronounced, thicker bass, Fred showed that he is pretty good singer who can do clean vocals, solid rapping and surprisingly heavy screaming and also he can write solid lyrics, but he just choose much more mainstream and commercial direction with lighter and upbeat, party like sound with simple, catchy and kinda cheese lyrics..
I think I’m beginning to understand some of the hate, even though I’m not among the haters. Nookie, among some of the other songs Durst wrote, was never meant to be taken seriously. The “cheese” was 100% intentional… a kind of self-deprecating humor. That’s why it’s fun! It just never occurred to me that anyone would hear these lyrics and think it was meant, in any way, to be taken seriously.
That said, if it weren’t for Wes Borland’s guitar work, I doubt Limp Bizkit would have ever even come close to the level of popularity they achieved.

I really thought Ryan would like this, corny vocals aside. The musicianship of the band is what had me hooked. There's better songs to get an idea of why many people still love this band

If you guys decide to do a Redemption Reaction to the Hated Bands, I think I would put up "Re-Arranged". That is actually a decent song with Fred allowing the uniqueness of the sound to stand out, and the introspection stands in contrast to where everyone was at in 1999.
The Truth is their redemption song for me.
The whole album wasn't that great but when I heard the first song, The Truth, I thought it was a new direction from Limp Bizkit that was really interesting and well executed.
I thought it could be a new beginning for the band and re-establish them as band that could be taken seriously.
But no, the album wasn't good enough as a whole and they didn't keep on pushing in that direction.
The biggest issue for me with all of the bands that you mentioned is over saturation. You couldn't get away from it all. At the time, they started out fun, but there was just too much of them after a while. They didn't even need to have anything happening like a new album, to have them shoved in our faces.

I will never forget my now wife’s dad walking up to us while listening to this album and him asking “what’s a limp biscuit” 😂 i still laugh when ever i hear them.
Limp Bizkits music is meant to be cheesy. Thats what i have always liked about them. They mix metal with hip hop and a little comedy. You either love it or you hate it. I do not believe there is an in between. I even like their new album Dad Vibes. Most of what i listen to is metal but i have always appreciated all different types of music anywhere from rap to metal to even country on rare occasions. LB came along back when MTV was still having those spring break shows and they fit in perfectly with that crowd.
The musical arrangement for Limp Bizkit songs has always been legit. They're great musicians. I am not much of a hip-hop guy but that verse beat is 🔥
But the lyrics and overall vocal writing has always been subpar.
That being said this song is a banger regardless.

There's a lot of their stuff I legitimately do like, but Nookie I think has always been one of their worst tracks.
As a positive for Nookie, i do really dig the bridge before the final chorus, the "Nothings gonna change, you can go away" etc part

Bands like Korn, deftones, and Rage Against the Machine paved the way for Limp Bizkit. Those bands were incorporating hip hop but were still seen as music for the outcasts. Limp Bizkit came along and the jocks gravitated toward them. That's why they were hated. They brought in people to that type of music that the fan base didn't want there.
The biggest commonality between them is that they all stink.
This, they brought the lunkhead aesthetic. They were fun until Fred's Ego started eating itself. He is a much better producer and director than he is a front man. Though Their Faith Cover is still insane.

Rage Against the Machine was arguably more popular do to their, ahem, rage against the Machine. Deftones were raw and outside the mainstream, and didn't really have much hip hop vibe. Limp Bizkit was hated because they brought the "bro" culture with them. At least the other bands you mentioned were rooted in something other than themselves.

I would consider myself a metal elitist I also absolutely love all types of hip hop and limp bizket are absolute legends. People only hate how successful they became
What I love about LB is that that they’re actually quite talented as musicians. Wes’s guitar riffs/effects, Lethal’s samples, Otto’s drumming, and Sam’s bass lined just meshed together so well. Furthermore, I’ll even add that Fred’s style of vocals (singing, screaming, and rap-flow) isn’t actually that bad… it’s just the lyrics that I feel are super cheesy. 😅
1999 was fun times man. Pre-September 11 world, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Slipknot etc all in their young and energetic phases made for some great live concerts. Music doesn't always have to be serious or majorly technically complex to just be fun to listen to with a bunch of other people enjoying the moment. 🤘

The musicality and beat selection was always passable. it's the lyrics/ability/antics (in the loosest sense of the word) of Fred and him becoming the "face" of both hip-hop, and metal to the uninitiated that makes this so hated and cringe by the actual fans of the genres.

So, I went to High School with these guys. We used to go listen to them play and all though many would mumble to themselves
“ they are never going to make it” most of us were all so LOYAL and Hopeful to our schoolmates that one day the dream would happen and…. They would make it.

I understand why pure metal heads hate alternative-rock / nu-metal bands like Limp Bizkit however as a white dude from Brooklyn New York that grew up around the time this band came out; it brought a lot of my black friends who predominantly liked hiphop to grow an interest in rock and from Limp Bizkit; expanded their interest to pure metal bands that they would’ve never listened to if they didn’t start with something like Limp Bizkit.
What can I say man?..as a black kid/teenager back then, I loved Limp Bizkit. Loved rock, loved rap and they were a great mix, especially as a teen rebelling. Especially the songs Break stuff, My Generation and some others I can't remember atm...it's been 20 years.
I had metal/rock bands I recognized as waaaay better than this shit, same goes for hiphop... But they were unique when it came to mixing the two.

I feel like Fred is the real sticking point for a lot of people with this band. The music itself is what I enjoy the most from Limp Bizkit, whether it be a guitar riff, small interesting bass line or lick or a drum fill.
To be fair I don't really ever listen to this song but there are definitely others in their catalogue that I really enjoy.

Second - Limp Bizkit is a great band with a bad vocalist/lyricist. But would they have become so popular if they didn't have Fred Durst on the mic? Probably not.

This is a great assessment. I liked the first album. I bought it when I heard that it was DJ Lethal's (House of Pain) metal band. I wasn't a big fan of Fred because he sounded like one of them douchie dudes that is always having women problems and crying about it when the solution is to just leave the bitch, lol. I can't relate to dudes who constantly write about women, but I thought all of the other elements were good. Instrumentally, the band is incredibly talented. The first album was raw and angry. I think Significant Other turned me off because it was too produced. Very slick and clean sounding. Where the first album was aggressive, they really tamed that down on the 2nd album. What was aggressive to Eminem fans was not really aggressive to metal fans who bought the first album. Plus, the 2nd album gave Fred a platform to further express his douchiness, lol. I would have preferred if Fred would have taken on lyrical themes closer to Wu Tang, Nas, or even Downset or Biohazard, but I get it. Fred wasn't from the streets. He was a rich suburban kid from Jacksonville, so he wrote about rich suburban kid from Jacksonville themes, lol.
100% agreed. Durst sucks but in the same way he made them stand out.

Fred Durst is the band. He hand picked everyone else. They wouldn’t exist without him. As an emcee, he’s like a 6.5 out of ten. There are 100s of worst rappers than him now that have millions of followers. It’s just he is the epitome of the lame white kid that thinks his love of hip-hop makes him cool. He is like B-Rad from Malibu’s Most Wanted. Only he did have talent. It just wasn’t enough to get passed that lame cartoon act.
I loved this when it came out. I grew up in the inner city. And grew up on old BDP, Run DMC , LL Cool J ,. I also was into Black Sabbath, Metallica , Guns n Roses.I caught the vibe that this was not meant to be taken that seriously. It was fun groove orientated. Again not serious. And it was almost like a stab at the angst driven post grunge music. And a slight stab at some.of the hip hop that was coming out then as well. So I think Fed was like F them both. I would place this at the end of the day in the same category as Vanilla Ice. Right. No one likes it. But it went platinum, and anytime it comes on. People get up .. dance and know every word.
This was one of the first albums I ever bought and I loved the band as a kid. I abandoned them after I became a teenager though. Looking back, Wes Borland was a unique guitar player, able to create interesting hip-hop inspired riffs. The bassline in this song is also really catchy. Instrumentally, I think LB are better than they get credit for. However, I'm not a fan of Fred Durst's lyrics, rapping, or persona as a whole. If you replaced Durst with anybody else, I'm sure the music wouldn't receive as much criticism.

Grew up in this era LOVE the first 3 LB albums...my belief is the people that "hate" bizkit is because they loved the first album up until Faith was released as a single..then they became wildly popular, thus losing the effect of it being "their band", that was their "sell-out" song, and this was the "sell-out" album...all untrue but thats what people think. Fred's early feud with Slipknot also forced some fans to pick sides at that time. Also some Nu-Metal fans were NOT ready for full blown Rap-Metal, i.e. LB and LINKIN PARK. Some people also just dont like Fred for his ties with MTV TRL/Carson Daly at the time...all nonsense...their first 3 albums are part of the history of nu-metal/rap metal alongside KoRn, Deftones, Incubus, and others. Hopefully someone reads this. :)
Poeple ended up hating Limp because they became popular too quick and over took Slipknot, Korn like a mother fucker. Their third album was over produced trash even though it had sick riffs. Most people just hate the band because Fred is a massive egotistical wanker who needed his head smacked in years ago.
I don’t care what anyone says I love this band. Yeah sometimes the lyrics are cheesy but they have even said so themselves.
I liked the lesser known stuff on their albums more than the famous ones myself.
They don't take themselves too seriously and people just don't get that about them. I respect LB though for though.

people dont hate it cause they're rapping, they hate it cause it's the corniest rapping ever. no one in the rap rock era figured out how to get a "Mos Def" quality rapper on some metal guitars. if someone pulled it off it wouldnt have completely disappeared like it did
Yes the lyrics are horrible...but this band destroys in concert. One of the best live performances I've ever seen. Shout out to DJ Lethal in the band. JUMP AROUND!!!
From a metal head who hated this band when they came out, listening to them now, I really enjoy it. They grew on me and now I get pumped jamming them out. They also were the stepping stone for me to get into hip hop. I listen to anything that I think sounds good, now a day's.

It's hard to really understand why this is so hated unless you lived through it. Nu-metal (rap/rock) in general was polarizing because it was a fusion of 2 very different genres that hadn't really been done yet, at least not at this level of "success". The bands name is kind of childish, with the purposeful incorrect spelling. Then you have Fred Durst who pretty much thrived on hate and embraced it. And obviously theres the lyrical content. I happen to love Limp Bizkit but I can see why this is a hated song. Good content as always! Can't wait for more 🤘
Wouldnt say that, you dont hear that about Rage Against the Machine (the real pioneers of rap/rock). I feel they are more hated because of Fred Durst's more juvenile lyrics/antics and over exposure.

No, Limp was the popular kid's favorite band if you were in highschool at the time they were in their prime. The geeks who couldn't get laid hated it. Korn vs Limp was the most awesome thing ever. Listen to "All In The Family" It's like a collaborative diss track. Funny as hell.
3 Dollar Bill, Y'all was a fantastic album, songs like Stuck and Nobody Love Me are regularly played by me to this day. I think you guys should give 'Rearranged' or 'Dont Go Off Wandering' a go, my fav tracks off of this same album.

The band in Limp Bizkit have always been phenomenal players, Wes Borland especially. I highly recommend some of Black Light Burns’ first album. It’s basically Borland with different members from NIN, APC, & Puscifer. Highly agree with some other commenters on doing a redemption series for each of these bands though, what a fantastic idea!

I gave it a listen and while I do ejoy the music, the mixing seems to be so much overdriven (at least on the top 5 tracks on Spotify), it kinda breaks down for me. That said, I am on a classical music / jazz trip atm trying to understand what the fuss is about.

I can't stress it enough. "Three Dollar Bill Y'all" is not only one of my favorite albums of all time, but I think it's one of the greatest albums of all time. And I listen to a loooooot of different music. ✌️

Personally, I loved their cover of The Who’s BEHIND BLUE EYES. I never hated them. Just wasn’t necessarily my cup of tea, but would bang my head and dig along when I heard a LB song on the airwaves.
The band is amazing. Sam and Otto are an amazing rhythm section. It's just that the lyrics are corny AF. Also, Fred stole the "put my tender heart in a blender" line from Eve 6.
I guess I never took that line as Durst claiming it. I always thought it was a throwback shout-out kinda thing.
I still rock out to Break Stuff, Nookie and most of the CSATHDFW tracks.

Ryan is probably seeing it from the soul/gospel/r&b side that dylan had with groups like the staple singers. He was hugely involved in that scene and was so inspired by the eras lyricists as well.

Never really had a problem with Limp Bizkit, and I really admire Wes Borland's guitar playing (and hip-hop, whilst not really my scene, I can appreciate the talent involved). My biggest issue was Fred Durst.

I don’t understand the hatred. The metalheads don’t like it because of a hip-hop vibe. The hip-hop lovers don’t like it because of the metal sound. Almost everyone that I know loves the combination though.
I never understood the hate. I'm a metal fan, Death Metal specifically, but I love Limp Bizkit. Almost every song is great. I think people that "hate" the band are just saying that now that it's trendy to do so. Same thing with Nickleback. I like their music, but they're "hated" too.

"Nookie" is my least favorite of LB's most popular songs. However, you can't deny the talent of the musicians. They wouldn't have made millions of dollars if they didn't have the talent. It just may not be for everyone! Wes Borland is a freaking animal on the guitar. Fred Durst is a showman...even without the red Yankees hat. DJ Lethal can scratch with the best of them. John Otto is a decent drummer, who sounds better in concert. Sam Rivers isn't in the same category as John Entwistle, Flea, Geddy Lee, Les Claypool or Victor Wooten....but who is??? The bass grooves are catchy though.

My fav band. The lyrics are…not great. But the use of Wes Borlands custom 4 string guitar in this song is incredible. The low end F# tuning brings such a bass element to the riff, I think it rips.

I was super heavy into Limp Bizkit and KoRn around 2000 for a handful of years as a pre-teen. It got me through a lot of pent up rage I had due to relentless bullying at school and an unbearable home life. Same with Linkin Park but I'll always adore them.
Mike Shinoda and Chester are just undeniably iconic. Eminem was heavy on the rotation, too.
Lets keep it real, there was nothing wrong with LB, the 90's was when hip hop changed the game for every genre of music good and bad, i remember when R&B got hated on for incorporating rap in their hooks until mary j and method man came out with "all i need" so at the end of the day i as a black teenager back then i bumped the hell out of LB just like Nirvana and LP etc, why because i gave them props for adding hip hop to their music (you gotta remember we still had to deal with mtv not wanting to play black music etc until yo mtv Raps)qe 13:10

I love limp bizkit and I don't care who knows lol. I was in junior high school when "Three dollar bill" came out. Still possibly one of the best albums ever. There isn't a weak song on it.
I love this song the beat and delivery of the lyrics are so catchy. The song doesn't take itself too seriously, it's tongue in cheek and as a result very funny... "You can take that cookie and stick it up your... Yeah!"
You can't really hate Limp Bizkit, it's just fun. Now for U2, it's just a James pop version ripoff, overhyped beyond imagination. In addition, saying that Durst's chorus is a hard pass, is like saying that Everalast's music didn't work, since the basic formula of metal-rap was always like this. Hip Pop purism has no place in a style like metal or hard rock.

you see, there's no need to be evasive about limp bizkit, they have some pretty good songs, in the 90's the trve kvlt metalheads dismissed them just because nu metal at the time was getting annoyingly popular and they felt that mainstream audiences would think that was what metal was about, and a lot of metalhead just don't like hip hop, they felt mixing metal and hip hop was unnaceptable...
but nowadays a lot of people are coming around to the nu metal bands and finding out they were actually pretty good, but you see, the problem with limp bizkit isn't the sound, it's fred durst and the lyrical themes, it's basically teenage suburban white boy angst, it's cringe, but if you can get around that, the band is pretty good, wes borland is an awesome guitarrist, john otto is a pretty solid drummer and sam rivers is a pretty cool bassist.
Limp Bizkit has always slapped. That particular album Significant Other has a lot more serious songs on it that absolutely rock like My Way, Rearranged, and Break Stuff.

It was pretentious elitists who killed Nu Metal. Now that they're not around anymore, it's amazing how popular it has become amongst the younger generation who hear it without the politics involved over who's cool and who isn't.
Limp Bizkit actually had some bangers. And Fred Durst, Bizkit's lead vocalist, is a certified hip-hop head. He proved that to DJ Premier who ended up working with him on a song called "N Together Now" featuring Method Man.
The song is and always will be catchy (like other songs from them). For me the problem is Fred Durst. The guy is/was hardly a singer/rapper. (Edit: like George pointed out at the end)
I actually love their first album Three Dollar Bill Y'all. Significant Other had some good songs but it was never the same again. Should check out anything from that album (3 dollar bill) really, Counterfeit was the best single. Pollution, Stuck, Leech are also good songs. Faith cover was what got them big though.
Yea, that's what I try to tell people. They were good before they sold out. But fittingly that's when most knew of them.
I think stalemate was the masterpiece of that album, particularly the second half of that song, it's incredible

While I loved LP and they were probably my introduction to rock back in the early 2000s, their lyrics are cheesy too. Chester had a good voice (on the first two albums specifically), agreed there, (the song "System" from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack is his best imo) and the Live in Texas performance is still killer.
But aside from having a relatively unique (albeit simplistic) sound on their first 2 albums, their later albums are just mediocre, predictable pop-rock.

I actually like this song, used to jam to it at the bar when I was drunk circa 2000. The reason most people hate Limp Bizkit is because it was rammed down our throats 24/7 for over a decade. It was inescapable. Radio, MTV (when that was a thing), parties, bars, cars driving by. I love pizza. If you force me to eat at gunpoint for 1,000 days in a row, my pizza loving days are over. Same thing here.

Years ago I took my sons to see Shinedown Sound of Madness tour and there were a few opening acts one of them being Nickleback. Everyone knows that everyone else hates Nickleback right? Well for a band that everyone hates it was amazing to see and hear the entire audience singing every word to every song that they performed that night. That showed me pure hatred alright.

At this time in the late 90's, music was dominated by the boy bands. Korn and Limp Bizkit were a complete 180 of what was popular and honestly, the aggression of their music was a wonderful sound.
It always irks me that Korn & Limp Bizkit are often mentioned together when imo there’s no comparison. Korn is actually a phenomenal band in every aspect with amazing music & passionate heartfelt lyrics & vocals while the only redeeming value of Limp Bizkit is Wes Borlen’s playing. Limp Bizkit and Eminem were my gateway into rap and metal. I was in school in 1998 in England, we had our own whole scene back then. English peeps, come like this comment cos you know what I'm talking about! We had garage and drum and bass back then. But this was the era of the 'grunger'. Korn were the ones for me; I always loved metal but not the subculture. Korn played REAL metal but they dressed like Run DMC. THAT was what did it for me. I was in school listening to metal but wearing Air Max and French Connection 🤣
I'm 35 now and still dress like a yuppie, but metal will always be my scene.
I went to a Decapitated gig dressed in bright orange Air Max and got dirty looks all night. I watched Slayer and Metallica in seats drinking white wine.
