Good start Miter. I had a fire in a van many years ago and miles from anywhere. Fire extinguisher saved the van. The mess it left was another story..I was still finding the FE dust when I was preparing it for sale many years later.
I'm going to follow your lead and actually get a fire extinguisher for the car. Better safe than sorry. Looking forward to seeing what's next for the xt :)
Good on 'ya, Mitre! I also have a fire extinguisher but it's under the driver's seat. I am thinking of mounting it at the base of the seat, as well. Mine is still OK, though, under the seat as I have rehearsed its use. Cheers.
Love that lil feature from the APHN shroud. That could be super helpful on the trail or simply in the garage when your working on the rig. I like that battery mod! I was also thinking it could be helpful in preventing theft. I doubt theives would spend the extra time to look under the hood to see if they could get it running. Imma save that battery mod for the future i think its great! Thanks for sharing. Totally agree with the fire extinguisher. I'm not sure if the bracket you have for the forester will fit my outback but i will check to see if they have one for the outback. Great video and as always thank you for sharing!
That shroud looks mint 👌 the fire extinguisher is a must. First mod I did to the foz, and it definitely should come standard. Mine was a diy job though
At this stage they are only on Instagram, link for their account in the description. If you don’t have insta, I can contact them and see if they have an email they can be contacted on
2 questions, with the radiator shroud is there any practical reason for fitting other than handy for working under the bonnet? does it improve cooling etc. also does the fire extinguisher fit any higher or closer to the seat base, it looks like it sits a fair way out, and may get in the way. great idea though as i have had a fire myself
The shroud is mainly just a visual mod and does not affect the radiator performance. Yes the fire extinguisher bracket does sit forward a bit but it’s not in a position where you would catch your feet on it. There is no adjustment in the bracket unfortunately. They are very easy to make yourself however, if you want one that’s tucked up a little more.
Ignition Offroad a few weeks ago I got a rock in through the gap between the bonnet and radiator grill. The shroud would’ve saved the radiator and saved me a few hundred bucks.
Bending above the mount on the bracket... Yours might be gassed at the correct pressures, a lot of places pressure them too high... Keen to see how the XT goes with the dual range box... They were never around when I had mine
Digging the new Forester mate. Might have to get one of the extinguishers for mine. Might grab one for the F6 as well

Great mods! Thanks for the update. Man, that foz is pristine!

Nice to see things moving for the new Foz !

The extinguisher made me giggle a little. It’s a good thing to have on board nonetheless 👍
It's odd to hear you say hood and bonnet in the same sentence.
Good video!
Haha, didn’t even notice that
How can I contact APHN??

Pretty sure I seen you in bunnings the other week !!
Very possible, I’ve been doing renovations and popping in there heaps to grab stuff lately.
Good video mate hope Corona does not get you in Victoria 🙏😂😂
It’s getting closer and closer.... we have to wear masks starting Monday, but I guess hiding my face might be a relief to some viewers 😂
This comment has not aged well…

@@ignitionoffroad5028 thanks for the quick response. looking forward to what you do with the XT.

Be careful with the bonnet struts mate, I've seen several SG Foz's with bent bonnets as a result of them
That’s interesting. I’ve had mine for 4 years without any issues. Where are they bending?

You'd think a professional firefighter wouldn't have that much trouble with the word "fire extinguisher" 😂
Yeah, one would think so 😂
