Thank you so much all who have requested this song! Patrons voted for it back in... *checks watch*.... last year....:')... It took a little while to deliver but I hope the wait will be worth it! I really, really practiced my ass off and wrote the lyrics at a rate of like one stanza per month and sometimes that's just how things end up going :')
Fun notes I want to share, these lyrics used different kanji for many words throughout the song, most notably for instances of "I" and "you". For example, kanji "God" for when Len is referring to himself "watashi". Then, in the first half, Rin says "anata" as 貴方 like, "respected party" but then second half it's 貴男 like "respected man",, english does NOT encapsulate it at ALL and anyways my point is, the kanji is super sexy and has so much nuance!! (caveat that I'm understanding this from Chinese)
I'm thinking I want to go ahead and do a JP cover of this song too... (lmk if you'd want to hear it! 😊)

how the heck do you put lyrics together in a way that makes them this smooth?? especially for stuff like hitoyama where there's a bunch of interweaving melodies
So much trial and error! The best tip I can give is to really understand the song as a whole and the mood/attitude of the singers and try to piece it more wholistically than words/phrases at a time. And over time your rhyme and vocabulary builds up too. Thanks so much!!:)

I randomly clicked on it while scrolling to watch something,
Man, that 3 minute scrolling session was bussin all the way through
I adore and hate how the lyrics tell one story and the images tell another. Just by the lyrics, you'd think it's a fairly simple story about a god and its creation, but if you look at the image you get hints that there's another layer to the story and it's possibly about two lovers whom one passed on earlier than the other with the remaining one finding a bittersweet sollace among a replica of his lover.
