Kairi (fighthing layer was ex plus alpha series), supposedly killed akuma in his ending like it was nothing. God rugal is still awesome and seeing anyone give akuma trouble is always sign for 'oh shit i don't know if i want to fight this guy..help'.

Rugal was SO angry he wasn't picked to be a boss of the first Capcom vs SNK game like Geese, Bison, and Akuma were that he took his place as a boss along with Akuma AND he became a HIDDEN boss by take Akuma's power!! He'd tease you in round one and you win, you're like "yeah i got this" ...round two he challenges harder and you barely lose. you're like "damn, so close, but i'll get you in final round. ....final round he stomps a hole in you, literally. you: "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

+Kaidoku123 technically no. Plot wise, Rugal has the power of Nothingness from the Orochi, which allows to absorb and assimilate anything he wishes. In fact, it is implied that on the Shin Akuma fight, he is fully berzerk but Rugal is fully concious until the very end
+Kaidoku123 for one, what akuma says is "true power, let me show you" second, Rugal did obtain the power of Nothingness, he even harness it to some extend. The issue here is when he went Omega. On this form, he tried to draw 100% of it, only managing about 80% and blowing himself. But the power he transfers to akuma on this fight is this one. And further analysis I did makes me think both were fully concious(rugal mind shows to be taken over by akuma on the end of the fight)
There is Gouki/Akuma, who is the most vicious Fighter and even shun goku satsu´ed Bison, like it was tuesday. Then there comes a guy who: .... throws Akuma away one handed, like he´s garbage? wtf dude..
Rugal's artwork from the king of fighters 2002 um makes him look like a grown adelheid (his son) but this artwork is very similar to the one of '95 and '98 and even of the nomal 2002
l don't even find Akuma to be that much of an evil character, he's just a bad ass dude with a warriors code. Rugal however is just pure evil, he just wants to fuck your shit up bad. Its no wonder why he's the poster child for SNK boss syndrome.
I think the name change is due to the ridiculous censorship and religious fools who could complain about that name even take away his kicks calls Genocide Cuttler (in Jap version he Said).

このキャラクターは使えるけど、与えた時のダメージが減らないから長期戦になったし、受けた時の異常なダメージの減り方は驚いた。だって、体力全快であるにも拘らず、1回スーパーコンボを受けただけでKO負けになったから…。
That's exactly it, Akuma isn't evil at all, he just trained so much he surpassed his humanity and turned into a pure warrior.
