Jinho has been chasing after his dream of becoming a singer ever since he was a kid. He trained for 8 years in total. He promoted in a special unit with Super Junior's Kyuhyun, SHINee's Jonghyun, and TRAX's Jay as a trainee almost 10 years ago but that company didn't let him debut. He eventually left after 6 years and had given up on becoming a singer to become a vocal trainer until his current company asked him to audition instead. He gave it one last try and trained for another 2 years before his debut in Pentagon. All the other members of Pentagon really respect Jinho for his singing skills and him as a person since he is the reliable oldest hyung. Despite his cute looks, he is the toughest member. The younger members often go to him for advice. Jinho loves to sing and always looks the happiest on stage so this was really the best gift Pentagon could give to Jinho before sending him off to the military. *Jinho is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service. He will return in November 2021.
Also he apparently was supposed to debut with EXO... SM did him wrong... I wish Jinho can always succeed and be recognized for his unique talent. Although Pentagon is not my favorite group, despite my support for them, Jinho is my favorite singer.

the fact that they sacrificed a round which also contributed points says ALOT. they value their brotherhood more than the competition. they know they could rank lower if they do this kind of stage when other groups are going with stronger concept, but they still did it for their dearest brother :” yes, he’ll be gone for only two years, but for pentagon, it’s not only for two years, but it’ll be longer for them to gather tgt again for another performance since their age range are big and maybe the enlistment will be a member per year except for the maknaes since they’re both 98’. that’s why they did this, it’s for their own memories, and for the fans memories too. if you aren’t touched with this performance and couldn’t feel their sincerity, then something’s wrong with you
@@ICICUNO Too should have been eliminated and it makes sense that Pentagon got 3rd (elimination episode not this challenge) because if you look at their other challenges other then the My Song challenge then you see how amazing they did. So please don't think that Pentagon deserved to get eliminated or something like that the elimination should have between Golcha , Too and Oneus with Too losing if we look at all challenges and i like too so please don't get me wrong Too Fans much love from someone that likes all groups and isn't biased so far The Boyz has slayed me the most but I think all groups had so far one performance that truly made them shine so yeah just my opinion -Haru Ps: I only edited the -Haru thingy.
Jason Kwan they were sixth in online fans votes so what popularity votes are you talking about actually? for this round, they received many 1st and 2nd votes from the other contestants but it only counted as 30 percent and other 70 percent is from the 140 online online voters. that’s why they’re 5th in 2nd round. the 3rd that you’re talking about is for the overall ranking. it’s understandable since their first round’s score is already high which is 9k++. for the first round, you cannot blame the other contestants for their votes. it’s normal to be amazed for ptg performance if you look up to them, and like them. that’s why most of the contestants are like that. in the eyes of nonfans, the performance maybe look like a normal performance but in the fans eyes, it’s AMAZING. i’m pretty sure most of the contestants there like ptg and look up to them

I’m always so frustrated by netizens bashing on this performance saying it was emotional manipulation and a sob story. At this point, Pentagon didn’t care about the competition because they only wanted to make this the greatest stage and send-off for Jinho. Their love for Jinho overruled the competition. If that’s not passion, I dunno what is. And the fact that they pulled it off so well and so cohesively is beyond me. I just wish people could appreciate Pentagon’s artistry fully.
@@andrcgs yea. That’s why the stage didn’t rank as well as they were hoping. I think what makes pentagon PENTAGON is the fact that they’re beyond idols, but more like artists and performers. Each stage and each song is really musically complex and challenging (not saying other idols aren’t). Their style and voice are so, so amazing, but because they don’t stick to making “mainstream” music and concepts, they haven’t really been able to achieve what they deserve.
To anyone watching who may not know, PENTAGON used this performance to give a GOODBYE STAGE to their JINHO-hyung who enlisted in the military a few days ago. They sacrificed giving a possibly "weaker" performance at the risk of the competition, just to give a proper send-off to Jinho and I think that just shows that they're a REAL FAMILY. Oyin Olubayo unfortunately every time they have a comeback, it is generally against a group with a massive fandom... a lot of the music shows take mv views and music platform (Spotify, Naver, Genie & others) streams as a high percentage of the “score” for winning those shows. Universe is a very loyal fandom (actually most Cube group fandoms are extremely loyal to their main and other Cube groups) but compared to many others, it is a very small fandom. I am not a Universe per se (I am not an official fandom member of any group) but I support all Cube groups and my ultimate group is BtoB.

I'm really frustrated that Pentagon didn't get the chance to shine again.. They are SO talented, even if you don't know them just by this performance you can see it. I'm frustrated that Jinho has to enlist without being recognized as a wonrderful vocalist (Hui and him are for me the best male vocalist of this generation)... I hope him and Pentagon will come back stronger in the future. That's why this industry may be really painful, for the artist and even for the fans, seeing talent go away without recognition really hurts.
98% talking about how sad this performance is 2% talking about how well pentagon performed. Let’s all look at the bright side. The new arrangement of shine is so good and look how their performance is so energetic. It was sad seeing them crying but that was for only some time just like their performance sadness should not take over us. Remember what Jinho said? That we should not be sad. I'm really not someone who cries often but i literally can not watch this video without crying. I can't believe Jinho has to go to military without them getting their first win. Kino's face when he left Jinho on stage alone :( I know Kino is trying his best not to cry at that time even if he looks really sad. That's the time when my tears started to fall and then Hui burst into tears and was having a hard time to breathe, damn I can't do this anymore it stings a lot. I started crying like a baby. But then, I'm happy to see that they have prepared so much for Jinho, they're a true family! Regardless of the result, this performance is *TOP TIER.* This is what performing is all about. Not about how flashy you can make your choreography and not about how high of a note you can reach. If you're able to connect all of the viewers into your own bubble of a performance and put a smile on their faces, that's what it's all about. Pentagon made all 7 groups present feel united, and I think that's so special.
I'm not even a Pentagon stan but I have to say this is Pentagon's best performance in RTK so far. This performance makes anyone smile and cry at the same time. I wish Pentagon wins this round because this performance just proves that they are experienced and top tier.
The performance was so genuine and I didnt even care about pentagon when i started watching but Im here sobbing along with everyone else. This really hit hard.

There was never a moment in our over five years together that I didn’t feel happy.” He continued, “So I’ll keep being happy until the end of PENTAGON. Many don't understand the reason why they're crying so much. It's not only about enlisting and let your hyung go for 2 years. It's about if they'll be able to be together as a group, as they didn't get any win till then. The show itself shows that. It's Road to Kingdom, not Kingdom which they were most suited due to age. Jinho went without the assurance of a better future for the group. No wonder Hui had to cry his heart out then. I am happy for Hui that he atleast had this assurance and seemed much more happy and confident after daisy. It's prominent in their vlive after 1st win, Pentagon was really in tight spot, maybe the situation has changed. The fandom is growing again, Hongseok got lot better as a main vocal, Jinho looks really healthy in army, the kids doing great in Busan One Asia festival and getting praised for stable live performance. No matter what happens, this family will always be special.

난 솔직히 이 무대를 통해서 펜타곤이 2차 경연에서 전하고 싶은 메시지를 제일 잘 전달했다고 생각함 아이돌이 무대에 있어서 중요한 게 대중에게 전하고 싶은 메시지를 잘 전달했는지와 무대에서 그룹의 정체성을 보여주면서 최대한의 자신만의 역량을 잘 보여줬는지가 제일 중요하기 때문에 그 두개를 다 했다고 생각하는 그룹이 펜타곤이라고 생각함
맞아요! 아무래도 진호님을 시작으로 매년 한~두명씩 군대에 가야하니 몇년동안은 펜타곤 완전체로 보기 힘들죠ㅠㅠ 그래서 펜타곤이 진호님 군대 가기 전 로킹에 나오신 것 같아요 그리고 완전체로 못보는 군 공백기 줄이는 최소한의 방법이 멤버분들 다 같이 군입대 하는 것 밖에는 없죠..
my mother cried watching this performance, and all she knows about pentagon is that they’re a group and that a member is leaving for the military. that’s how deeply pentagon can connect to people who watch their performances, and that’s why they’re truly one of the best performers in the entire industry, not just rtk.

다들 보플에서 여기로 많이 넘어왔네ㅠㅠ 진짜 후이의 도전과 멋진 무대 하나가 정말 많은 변화를 일으킨것 같다....무관심을 관심으로 돌리는데 정말 그 짧은 무대 몇초가 돌풍을 일으켰네. 그만큼 후이의 존재감이나 매력이 대단하단걸 느꼈다 그저 평범한 아이돌이였다면 다른 결과 였을수도 있었겠지만 후이는 다르지.....셧다운 무대하나로 많은 사람들이 이회택과 펜타곤에 관심을 가지게 됬다. 이거 하나만으로 펜타곤내의 후이의 존재감이 얼마나 대단한지 느꼈다. 저렇게 8년이란 긴 시간동안 팀을 이끌어 왔겠지..... 입대전 큐브소속 직원분들이 후이에 대해 얘기하는 영상을 봤다. 후이를 표현하는 모든 문장들이 보플에 나온 이회택과 너무 일치가 되서 존경하고 대단하고 멋지다는 생각을 했다.

I feel really sad towards Pentagon. They really went through a lot even after debuting. They had opportunity of becoming successful and creating a place for them in kpop industry with the song shine but because of a controversy, they have to beg the netizens again and create a name again from scratch. I hope after this show, Pentagon will be reknown by the public again.

솔직히 당시에는 퍼포먼스 적으로 다른 그룹한테 밀릴 수도 있었어도 개인적으로 지금까지도 가장 기억에 남는 무대는 결국 이 무대.... 감동적인것도 맞는데 보컬이 진짜 너무 안정적이었음......
타팬인데 볼 때는 다른 그룹들에 비해 그렇게 기억에 많이 남지는 않았는데, 멤버분들이 너무 예뻐서 계속 주기적으로 찾아보고 있더라고요ㅎㅎ

Jinho has been chasing after his dream of becoming a singer ever since he was a kid. He trained for 8 years in total. He promoted in a special unit with Super Junior's Kyuhyun, SHINee's Jonghyun, and TRAX's Jay as a trainee almost 10 years ago but that company didn't let him debut. He eventually left after 6 years and had given up on becoming a singer to become a vocal trainer until his current company asked him to audition instead. He gave it one last try and trained for another 2 years before his debut in Pentagon.
All the other members of Pentagon really respect Jinho for his singing skills and him as a person since he is the reliable oldest hyung. Despite his cute looks, he is the toughest member. The younger members often go to him for advice.
Jinho loves to sing and always looks the happiest on stage so this was really the best gift Pentagon could give to Jinho before sending him off to the military.
*Jinho is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service. He will return in November 2021.
Also he apparently was supposed to debut with EXO... SM did him wrong... I wish Jinho can always succeed and be recognized for his unique talent. Although Pentagon is not my favorite group, despite my support for them, Jinho is my favorite singer.

Jason Kwan they were sixth in online fans votes so what popularity votes are you talking about actually? for this round, they received many 1st and 2nd votes from the other contestants but it only counted as 30 percent and other 70 percent is from the 140 online online voters. that’s why they’re 5th in 2nd round. the 3rd that you’re talking about is for the overall ranking. it’s understandable since their first round’s score is already high which is 9k++. for the first round, you cannot blame the other contestants for their votes. it’s normal to be amazed for ptg performance if you look up to them, and like them. that’s why most of the contestants are like that. in the eyes of nonfans, the performance maybe look like a normal performance but in the fans eyes, it’s AMAZING. i’m pretty sure most of the contestants there like ptg and look up to them

I’m always so frustrated by netizens bashing on this performance saying it was emotional manipulation and a sob story. At this point, Pentagon didn’t care about the competition because they only wanted to make this the greatest stage and send-off for Jinho. Their love for Jinho overruled the competition. If that’s not passion, I dunno what is. And the fact that they pulled it off so well and so cohesively is beyond me. I just wish people could appreciate Pentagon’s artistry fully.

@@andrcgs yea. That’s why the stage didn’t rank as well as they were hoping. I think what makes pentagon PENTAGON is the fact that they’re beyond idols, but more like artists and performers. Each stage and each song is really musically complex and challenging (not saying other idols aren’t). Their style and voice are so, so amazing, but because they don’t stick to making “mainstream” music and concepts, they haven’t really been able to achieve what they deserve.
To anyone watching who may not know, PENTAGON used this performance to give a GOODBYE STAGE to their JINHO-hyung who enlisted in the military a few days ago. They sacrificed giving a possibly "weaker" performance at the risk of the competition, just to give a proper send-off to Jinho and I think that just shows that they're a REAL FAMILY. Whatever the result, I know PENTAGON is always gonna be NO.1 in UNIVERSE' HEART and we'll NEVER BE TIRED to support u guys and praise your talent to the world!!

Oyin Olubayo unfortunately every time they have a comeback, it is generally against a group with a massive fandom... a lot of the music shows take mv views and music platform (Spotify, Naver, Genie & others) streams as a high percentage of the “score” for winning those shows. Universe is a very loyal fandom (actually most Cube group fandoms are extremely loyal to their main and other Cube groups) but compared to many others, it is a very small fandom. I am not a Universe per se (I am not an official fandom member of any group) but I support all Cube groups and my ultimate group is BtoB.

I'm really frustrated that Pentagon didn't get the chance to shine again.. They are SO talented, even if you don't know them just by this performance you can see it. I'm frustrated that Jinho has to enlist without being recognized as a wonrderful vocalist (Hui and him are for me the best male vocalist of this generation)... I hope him and Pentagon will come back stronger in the future. That's why this industry may be really painful, for the artist and even for the fans, seeing talent go away without recognition really hurts.

보이즈플래닛에서 후이 악편 대상인거 진짜,,, 마음아파 죽겠음.... 개같은 큐브가 지지 안해주는것도 그렇지만 팀을 위해서 어마어마한 능력과 실력을 가지고 서바 마스터도 아니고 참가자로 나온게 쉽지도 않고 헤아릴 수도 없음,,, 그냥 펜타곤이 다시 잘 되었음 좋겠다.. 멤버들은 저 무대하면서 이렇게 무대를 즐겁게 할 기회가 없을 것이라는 걸 느꼈을 거 같애서 그냥 눈물만 남.. 본진도 아니고 그냥 추억 속에 남아있는 정말 대단한 그룹이었는데 원래 잘 울지도 않는 사람인데 이 무대보고 그냥 울어버림,,, 후이 재데뷔말고 그냥 펜타곤으로 봄눈이 내리는 날 즐겁게 무대하자
또 댓글 달게되는데 속직히 이 무대 한 직후 펜타곤 욕 엄청먹었음. 후이 우는거 오바다 부터 시작해서 동정표 얻으려고 저런다, 군대 한번 요란하게 보내내. 근데 우리 애들이 이렇게 울었던건 수많은 앨범, 역주행 까지 성공했지만 눈에 띄는 성과가 없었고 이제 9명이서 서는 무대는 이것이 마지막이 아닐까 하는 막막함과 재계약이 다가온다는 슬픔에 눈물이 난거임. 더 높이 올라갈꺼라고 믿어 펜타곤
For those of you who don't know the background of this performance, the reason why they are crying is not only because of Jinho enlisting, but the uncertainty of the group's future. Kino's face when he left Jinho on stage alone :( I know Kino is trying his best not to cry at that time even if he looks really sad. That's the time when my tears started to fall and then Hui burst into tears and was having a hard time to breathe, damn I can't do this anymore it stings a lot. I started crying like a baby. But then, I'm happy to see that they have prepared so much for Jinho, they're a true family! It only shows as well how they respect and loved him very much and I love how Jinho held Hui's face saying "don't cry" in korean huhuhu it so precious. This was not a competition but more like a dedication performance. omg I'm still crying.

처음에 보이즈플래닛 출연한다는 소식을 듣고 후이가 왜? 라는 생각만 계속 했어요
방송을 보고 많은 생각이 들더라구요. 후이님이 꿈꾸는 어떠한 미래를 위해 자기보다 어린 사람들과 경쟁하고 어쩌면 조금만 실수해도 물어뜯을 언론과 대중들 또 이로 인해 그동안 쌓아온 커리어를 다 잃어버릴 수도 있음에도 확실하지 않은 길을 선택한 용기 … 너무 박수 쳐주고 싶어요
20대인 저는 언제부턴가 흘러가는 대로 살고 도전하는게 무섭더라구요. 생각해보니 제가 후이님의 보이즈 플래닛 출연에 의구심을 가졌던건 어쩌면 어리석은 저의 잣대로 마음 한켠으로 후이님을 평가했던 건 아닌가라는 생각이 들었어요. 하지만 그 후엔 꽤나 인정받을 만한 커리어를 쌓은 사람조차 이렇게나 도전하고 열심히 사는데 나는 지금껏 어떤 인생을 살아왔던거지? 라는 회의감이 들더라구요.
그때부턴 그냥 후이님을 응원해주기로 결심했어요. 그냥 후회하지 않을 만큼 열심히 해요. 저도 후이님이 선택한 것, 후회하지 않도록 응원할게요.

Regardless of the result, this performance is *TOP TIER.*
This is what performing is all about. Not about how flashy you can make your choreography and not about how high of a note you can reach. If you're able to connect all of the viewers into your own bubble of a performance and put a smile on their faces, that's what it's all about. Pentagon made all 7 groups present feel united, and I think that's so special.
I'm not even a Pentagon stan but I have to say this is Pentagon's best performance in RTK so far. This performance makes anyone smile and cry at the same time. I wish Pentagon wins this round because this performance just proves that they are experienced and top tier.
The performance was so genuine and I didnt even care about pentagon when i started watching but Im here sobbing along with everyone else. This really hit hard.

Many don't understand the reason why they're crying so much. It's not only about enlisting and let your hyung go for 2 years. It's about if they'll be able to be together as a group, as they didn't get any win till then. The show itself shows that. It's Road to Kingdom, not Kingdom which they were most suited due to age.
Jinho went without the assurance of a better future for the group. No wonder Hui had to cry his heart out then. I am happy for Hui that he atleast had this assurance and seemed much more happy and confident after daisy. It's prominent in their vlive after 1st win, Pentagon was really in tight spot, maybe the situation has changed. The fandom is growing again, Hongseok got lot better as a main vocal, Jinho looks really healthy in army, the kids doing great in Busan One Asia festival and getting praised for stable live performance.
No matter what happens, this family will always be special.

난 솔직히 이 무대를 통해서 펜타곤이 2차 경연에서 전하고 싶은 메시지를 제일 잘 전달했다고 생각함 아이돌이 무대에 있어서 중요한 게 대중에게 전하고 싶은 메시지를 잘 전달했는지와 무대에서 그룹의 정체성을 보여주면서 최대한의 자신만의 역량을 잘 보여줬는지가 제일 중요하기 때문에 그 두개를 다 했다고 생각하는 그룹이 펜타곤이라고 생각함

안정적이고 춤노래실력 컨셉소화력 무대꾸밈 스토리 등 모든게 완벽함 라이브 마이크 뚫고 나오는 아이돌이 진짜 없는데 항상 그런게 놀랍고 신나게 무대에서 놀줄아는게 눈에 보임
다들 보플에서 여기로 많이 넘어왔네ㅠㅠ
진짜 후이의 도전과 멋진 무대 하나가 정말 많은 변화를 일으킨것 같다....무관심을 관심으로 돌리는데 정말 그 짧은 무대 몇초가 돌풍을 일으켰네.
그만큼 후이의 존재감이나 매력이 대단하단걸 느꼈다
그저 평범한 아이돌이였다면 다른 결과 였을수도 있었겠지만 후이는 다르지.....셧다운 무대하나로 많은 사람들이 이회택과 펜타곤에 관심을 가지게 됬다.
이거 하나만으로 펜타곤내의 후이의 존재감이 얼마나 대단한지 느꼈다. 저렇게 8년이란 긴 시간동안 팀을 이끌어 왔겠지..... 입대전 큐브소속 직원분들이 후이에 대해 얘기하는 영상을 봤다.
후이를 표현하는 모든 문장들이 보플에 나온 이회택과 너무 일치가 되서 존경하고 대단하고 멋지다는 생각을 했다.
솔직히 펜타곤 노래 아는거라곤 빛나리밖에 없고 아는 스토리라곤 멤버 한 명 탈퇴한거밖에 모르는데도 이 무대는 아름답다. 한 명을 위해 무대를 꾸민거니까. 본인들의 팬만 보는 콘서트도 아니고 다른 팬들도 그냥 일반 사람들도 보는 방송에서. 용기도 대단하고 마음씨 예쁘다. 근데 왜 욕을 먹었을까ㅠ 욕먹은지도 몰랐는데ㅠ 어느부분이 아니꼽게 보이는지 잘 모르겠다. 그들이 얼마나 애틋하고 끈끈한 사이인지 너무 다들 곱기만한데ㅠ
한 멤버를 위한 무대를 하면 안되는건 아지만 프로 자체가 경연무대라서..그론것같네요 그래서 무대가 끝나고 후이도 죄송하다고 한번한것같네요 사람들은 눈물로 승부할려고 하는것 같다고 욕하는데 펜타곤은 라이브에다가 연출 편곡 춤 모두 완벽해서.. 꿀릴게 없는데 경연이 아니라 한 멤버를 위한 무대를 해서 욕을 좀 먹은 것 같네요..ㅜ
I feel really sad towards Pentagon. They really went through a lot even after debuting. They had opportunity of becoming successful and creating a place for them in kpop industry with the song shine but because of a controversy, they have to beg the netizens again and create a name again from scratch. I hope after this show, Pentagon will be reknown by the public again.

Anelle De Robles we are supporting pentagon and we will continue to do so, but cube has been extremely shady in regards to yanan :// he said last year in december that hes ready to return but cube wont let him. his been posting on weibo a lot, wishing the members luck on rtk and celebrating their birthdays, and he was even in south korea (might even still be) but cube still wont let him join in on group activities even though both him and the rest of pentagon and unis want him back
