I love mine! Got to meet Zakk and got the stage played BLS ODIN GRAIL. Which looking back on it(2018), quite a deal for $1500. You’ll pay over $3k for that experience nowadays…
very nice! Zakk is one of my biggest influences. i really dig the grail. ALSO! i just got the amplitube amp sim you offer and omg is it amazing! stay cool fluff.
I’ve wanted a WA guitar ever since they were first introduced years ago, wanted one even more so after actually playing an Odin (back when the only finish options were satin black and dark red w/black bullseye stripes) some might say the neck was chunky but for me it was probably the most perfect neck I’ve ever played on a guitar, I’m glad that WA is still going strong, maybe one day I can get one in my collection.
WA isn't going anywhere. Schecter distributes them and Hisatake (founder of ESP) owns Schecter. Hisatake-san, if you read any comments ever, I'll say the same thing I always do: Please buy Dean (with Dean) and do for Dean what you did for Schecter. (Schecter was originally a US company like Dean, but it thrives now and provides great use to the community, so it's all good)
Last time I saw Zakk Wylde was in 2006 or 2007 playing for Ozzy with Rob Zombie opening the show. He's someone I listen to very often, but when I do, I think "I should listen to this stuff more often"
One might not like Wylde audio designs but the quality dollar for dollar i think is one of the best in the biz!!! Love them all, As someone who has 40 plus guitars gibsons, Esp, Jackson etc the wylde audio stuff kills i love it. The quality is killer
Wylde audio is just a rebranded schecter, same as Abasi guitars (at least some of them). So quality per price is the same as schecter (pretty good but not extraordinary), maybe even a little lower due to artist markup.
@@metalosaur For a g note I think its dollar for dollar a great guitar for the money quality wise. Does is compete With my custom shop Esp, Or Jackson, Or ken Lawrence No lol but its not 8 grand. Yes Schecter def makes it.
Those fiddles absolutely rip! The main reason I love single cuts are because of Zakk. Quirky designs, and my only issue is the lack of an arm contour. Which really is a personal thing. Luckily they have a lefty in this model. Still contemplating one.
I have this exact guitar in the same color it is my favorite guitar to play I love Wylde audio I’m a huge Zakk fan I’m a huge dime fan and have several razorbacks a few Jackson’s and other schecter guitars both 6 and 7 strings but the Odin grail to me is so comfortable and sounds amazing sure they have weight to them but man they are epic. I’m about to pick up the dark green warhammer that recently came out. Anyone debating Wylde audio I promise you won’t be disappointed at all only grip is at the price of their stuff I think you should get one of Zakks cool cases but unfortunately those are sold separately lol. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
The thing I can’t get on board with is all of these are ZW signature models. They all have his ascetic, his chunky neck carve, the 81/85. I feel like we can offer some other options to diversify the lineup, and have “Zakks specs” as one of several options
I know feel is a subjective thing, but thanks for telling us your thoughts on the neck. ZW demo, and only one pinch harmonic? No surprises with this fiddle, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I like a lot of his designs, this finish in particular is really cool. Even if some designs are misses, I’m just glad there’s somebody putting out new non traditional shapes. I just probably won’t ever buy one though because of the neck. I own one of his old signature Epiphone bullseye’s with the ZW 81/85 set and while it sounds great the chunky ass baseball bat necks he prefers is just not for me. Going from traditional guitars owning/playing Gibsons and Fenders to PRS, Ibanez and now mostly only playing my Strandberg’s; light weight and awesome necks. I just can’t go back to playing an old school slab of wood. Why make it harder to play?
Bro, that burling on the guitar and the stripe effect just makes it look killer. Sounds fantastic (your playing is why ) and visually awesome. Well done on this review. Definitely looking at one if I decide to pick up another axe.
I’m curious to the weight on these. That’s the only info I can’t find and haven’t been able to play one. I get it the looks are not for everyone, but that’s why we have choices. Just weird how so many people have to go out of their way to make comments on how bad they look. If it’s not for you then why not just move on. Can’t imagine living life in the way of having to make negative comments on things.
i find it interesting that Zakk tunes down for BLS but tunes to 440 for most of his solo stuff thru the years and his ozzy stuff. i would like to hear this in 440 probably much more dynamic and sonic
@@RiffsAndBeards for this price, thinking on the overall I would honestly go for an Epiphone MKH signature or a Snakebyte, at least those ones come with locking tuners and the case. It seems like a lot more business to me
I love Zakk Wylde and would totally love to have more WA guitars, I even like some of the weird shapes. But getting them in the UK is more difficult and more expensive
So you've missed the entire point of everything, huh? If all you care about is sound, why bother looking at guitars at all? You can get whatever sounds you want with the right plugins. Some people actually play for the experience of playing, and we get different experiences from different guitars. Crazy, I know. Some people care about things.
Wylde Audio has an interesting company policy. They REQUIRE all players to have a beard, and do not allow ANYONE without a beard to even touch their guitars. I support this policy 100%
Ive heard the necks are pretty wide on those, kind of like the LP moderns, wonder if theres any truth there...My favorite WA guitar is probably the purple SG style they make/made.
Finally got to try a bunch of these in person, and MAN they are not for me lol, they feel very clunky to my preferences and I play a couple mid 2010’s Schecter and they feel much more sleek and comfortable especially on the neck, maybe the look in feel will be good for someone else, but for someone like me who was looking forward to trying one, I walked away a bit disappointed
@@Surge_LaChanceyes but also the body is thicc, I probably wouldn’t have minded the neck profile if it didn’t have the sticky polyurethane finish on the back
He put links to them on Guitar Center’s website. I’ve played at few at my local GC as well. So it looks like GC is the place to go, never seen them anywhere else.
I live in Canada ( We never get anything here). Our version of guitar center (Long & McQuade) wasn't a wylde audio dealer at the time they were, however, a schecter dealer. As wylde Audio is distributed by schecter, I was able to get mine that way. might be worth finding your local Schecter authorized dealer and giving it a shot that way.

Absolutely hideous. I even like the James Tyler headstock, old Guilds, and many others. This seems like it was designed by a 6 year old. It does sound good. The necks on the one I tried were huge, but uncomfortable. I WANT to like them, but every time I see them, is I ask why, and who would actually buy these guitars? It is perplexing.
Get over it. Obviously the original members don’t have an issue and I’m sure Dime wouldn’t have an issue with it. This comment sounds like the kid of guy that took Dime away in the first place. Zakk literally plays the guitar Dime gave him at the BLS shows and pays special tribute to him. They close friends, Dime would probably say right on brother keep going.
That was the best in mix music you've done in a while, nice
Not enough pinch harmonics
Unsubbed!
Not nearly enough pinch harmonics or wet chorus effects
