Doesn't listen to audiobooks. Watched this anyway. #Rebel. But seriously I don't think I could listen to an audiobook and do anything since I get crazy immersed in the books I read. This lady I talked to said she listens to audiobooks in her car and I couldn't do that. I'd start imagining the events in the book and crash my car because I forgot I was driving.

So do I!!! Especially when it comes to a book that I find hard to pronounce the words the audio book makes it so much easier. But in the same breath, I sometimes read faster then the narrator reading the book and I end up being a chapter or 2 ahead🙈
A cross stitcher here :) I used to watch tv while stitching but I woud watch the tv more than the canvas and then I found audiobooks and I got hooked!!
Audiobooks soooo help doing chores go by quicker! My main audiobook listening time is when I do the dishes. I love the puzzle and coloring ideas, I've never thought about those while audiobooking, but it sounds so relaxing!
During the school year my commute is an hour each way, so listening to audio books while driving is great for me; when I have a MWF schedule, I'm driving 6 hours a week and normally can finish a book in about a week or so. The other night I finished listening to Cinder while wrapping presents, and I'm probably going to start Scarlet while I organize our Funko Pop collection and bookshelves.
I am a hardcore Audio Booker. H owever, I don't love chores but they are made easier by the listening to a good story. You're absolutely right listening to a book while following along with the physical copy is great! Also, I'm going to have to try coloring while listening to a book never done that before thanks for the advice Jesse. 🤓📚🎧

I think it's good to listen to audiobooks when your driving or cleaning or getting ready in the morning. That way You'd feel like I'm doing something necessary/productive while listening to audiobooks
And here I just listen to audiobooks whilst at work! I listen to Biographies and Memoirs (I think Fiction I could get distracted) but it's cool, makes a change from music and you can get through long audio books in a matter of days (Just don't slack on the work part!)

Great video! I just got really into audiobooks, but found that I really need to center all my focus wholly on listening and imagining the story. I usually either just lie on the couch with my eyes closed to immerse myself in the world of that book or multitask with mindless tasks like folding laundry, emptying the dishwasher, playing online solitaire, etc. Lol, not super excited, but it does the trick.

I recently listened to the audiobook for Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and it was AMAZING. I legit was so captivated by the reading of the story, I lay down on my bed and stared at the ceiling for hours just listening to it!!
I used to get a French version of Jane Eyre and read it while listening to the French audio at the same time - great way to learn languages through reading (my French is still horrible though). Also, if someone is crafty, they can use the time to knit a sweater or stitch or something. I know I can definitely use that time to loom a hat or two.
I've read along a couple times while listening to the audio book and it's such a fun experience, so immersive. I do a lot of my audiobook listening when I am cooking meals or doing my weekly meal prep on the weekends.

Listening to audiobooks while driving is my LIFE. Any time I'm feeling like I'm falling behind on my reading (usually if my current physical book is taking me longer than usual) I'll start an audiobook and it makes me feel SO much more productive!
Before listening here are things where I listened to audio books the most. The dishes, the laundry, driving, meditating, drawing, playing video games, working out, showering - if the audio is loud enough - anything that doesn't require audio or a story.
I completely agree with this video Jesse! I've been doing some of all of these things (except driving because I don't drive) with my current audiobook, which I think I'm going to talk about when I do my review of it. The first problem I had with it wasn't really a problem, but I got SO immersed in the story because I'm relating to most of the main character that I almost started crying a lot and then later at work I think it triggered my anxiety because the character suffers from a much more severe case of it. But I loved listening to it while cleaning and cooking. That was super fun. Also my tip is if you're listening to a book like mine that the character has emotional problems, maybe don't do it in public. Or before work especially in retail. Lol. This is mostly for the girls out there, but my favorite way to listen to an audio book is when I am getting ready, I can't put my face on, get dressed, brush my teeth and hair and read at least a chapter before school/work every morning!
I walk & listen to audiobooks on my way to the office and boy it's beneficial!! Lots of book's insights (1.5 hr per day). I get to wake up early, exercise a bit, feel super energized and on top of that it is an eco friendly way of transport
I listen to audiobooks more than I read since I've lost the concentration to sit down and read. I have a few times that I listen to audiobooks too, sometimes, like you said, I do it while I clean. I do it at times when I commute but mostly, I listen to audiobooks when I work and, I work with my art or grind for levels in my video games. I remember one time at work when a plot twist came on and I got so mad that I had to bang my fist onto the table!

I started listening to audiobooks when I was in art school since I didn't have time to read but was spending hours on art projects (though this would lead to a lot of rewinding when getting overly caught up in a project). Now that I'm in grad school and writing all the time, I listen to audiobooks whenever I'm doing household chores, grocery shopping, walking somewhere--basically any activity that allows my mind to be focused elsewhere. It can get dangerous though...occasionally I find myself cleaning the house all day just to make up an excuse to listen to a book, when I should be doing work!
I listen to them when I'm walking my dog, or if I have to use public transport. There was a time when I spent so much time on trains and buses, but couldn't read a physical book cause I couldn't look up and pay attention to where I was going- audio books were an absolute lifesaver.
I major in English so I'm supposed to be reading a lot of classics. With dense books listening to audiobook and reading them at the same time is so helpful. You get to understand and visualise more of the story than when you could normally do. Highly recommend! 👍
I listen to them everyday as I'm getting ready for the day - doing my makeup, packing my lunch and having breakfast, etc. I also like to listen to them when I am cleaning or cooking.. Mundane things become fun when I have a book to listen to. I find that I can't do anything that is too distracting from the story though or I'll tune out and not realize something major happened in the plot - for example, I recently sorted through a whole room of junk that I've collected over the years and I was concentrating too hard on whether I should keep things or get rid of them.. I definitely had to go back in the book and switch to music.
Seriously, I love audiobooks! I mostly listen to some while colouring in, and walking on the treadmill at the gym. I also like to listen to them before I go to bed because they strangely help me fall asleep. Oh, and also when I'm just browsing the internet or FB, as well!

I've been reading my first audiobook, Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman and narrated by the author himself, and I would often sleep during the narration, so I found this video really helpful. Also, Audible is brilliant.
I don't listen to audiobooks, but podcasts are pretty similar, and I always listen to one while I do graphic design work for college. Really helps me to keep focus on work and block everything else out, more so than music as with that I get distracted by changing the songs all the time. I also used to have a 45 min walk home from school so I would always listen to one then. Need to get on that audiobook game!
I love to listen to audiobooks when I’m mowing, doing dishes, driving, and while getting ready in the morning. Also while playing lots of candy crush in all the different versions or while playing solitaire on my laptop.
Great video! My favorite way to audiobook is to listen while reading the actual book. I usually check out audiobooks of physical books/ebooks that I already own and go full speed ahead. Love it! Also, instead of candy crush, I play solitaire while listening to audiobooks. I do puzzles too but yeah, they're hard hahaha. I have coloring books but never tried it while audiobooking. Must try it! Love listening to audiobooks while on the treadmill if I need to switch it up from music/podcasts. Again, great video!!! I recommend all of the audiobooks of Matthew Quick's books.
I usually draw/paint when I listen to audiobooks. Since I have discovered them I haven't been reading physical books almost at all, which is bad.. I listened probably like 25 audiobooks in july, now I don't know what to listen 😯

I love audiobooks. I definitely listen to them when I'm either cleaning or walking my dog (sometimes but not all the time). I honestly listen to it whenever I get the chance like I listen to audiobooks when I walk to and from work and even on my lunch break at work. I just started to color and listen to audiobooks and that's pretty relaxing. I recommend Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter. I'm aware you haven't gave in a listen to Hamilton but this book was so much fun listening to.
If you haven't read The Silver Linings Playbook then I would definitely recommend listening to the audiobook because it was definitely an amazing experience for me! It is narrated at the first person and I just found the way the narrator spoke so fitting, I loved it!
In grad school, most of my required readings were public domain. I'd listen to them on libravox and craft, like knit scarves or make jewelry. I made almost all my Christmas gifts that way for a few years. It was something kinetic that didn't involve a lot of brain work, so my mind could focus on the story.
I would very highly recommend the Divergent series Audiobooks performed by Emma Galvin, her voice is just amazing, and if you've read the series first it's exactly what you would imagine the main characters voice to be. She can change her voice very well to do different characters in the book by making her voice higher or lower, raspier or clearer, energetic or calm, angry or sad. It's just amazing and I highly recommend.
If you haven't tried them out yet, I would recommend the Miss Peregrine trilogy audiobooks. I'm currently on the third book and I really like the way the narrator reads it. But it's not a good audiobook to fall asleep to, cause you'll end up missing half the story. Love y'all!
I tend to use audiobooks to reread books. I find it can give me insights by listening to the way someone interprets how a sentence sounds. I recently just finished rereading the Harry Potter series this way and it was amazing!
Yes! I always listen to audio books when walking, it makes it way less boring and I get some exercise at the same time. If I'm at home I like to play 2048 endlessly while listening. I love the colouring idea though!
I recommend the Mistborn series audiobooks! Michael Kramer is an amazing narrator. I like listening to audiobooks when I'm at school. So when I'm walking to class or waiting for class to start I can listen for a few minutes. Or just needing some downtime, sitting in the grass or in the library and just chilling with an audiobook.
I am a puzzle master and have a whole wall covered in them :) I usually build them while listening to audio books or cooking up my own stories in my head. Another thing that works is for artsy people to draw/paint/sew/craft while listening to books. And I've also listened to audiobooks while taking a bath :3
Gaming while listening to an audiobook = genius! Two birds, one stone! I do the P90X madness and currently doing Body Beast. So yeah, can't listen to an audiobook while doing that. Lol. I love reading along to audiobooks with the book in front of me. Particularly the illustrated Harry Potter. So beautiful! Great tips. I listen to them while doing the laundry and ironing. Makes it less agonizing.
YES YES YES! MY FAVORITE THING IN YHE WORLD IS LISTENING TO AUDIOBOOKS AND DOING JIGSAW PUZZLES IS MY FAVORITE THING TO DO EVER!! I also love playing Tetris or Tetris blitz, or Auralux or another mindless app game.
I do all of these things while listening to audiobooks, except driving. I also love to listen to audiobooks at night before bed, since my eyes will be too blurry and tired to read (but my mind is still active and not tired yet). I've read so many audiobooks in the past 2 years and adore them, especially thanks to certain narrators who make the story even more alive.

my mom always has an audiobook with her so she has something to listen to while she's driving. She started using them mainly for long trips, but now she uses them all the time and turns it on even if she's just driving to the store.

Try listening to an audiobook while packing! A lot of people are taking trips or moving in and out of college and apartments. I personally hate packing but the time goes by much faster if you've got a good book on in the background :)
I love audiobooks, I wouldn't get to enjoy nearly as many books if I didn't listen to them. I listen while out walking and while cleaning mostly. The only one you mentioned that I cannot do while listening to an audio book is organizing my bookshelves! I don't know why but I get distracted. Loved the video!
I like listening to audiobooks when I get ready in the morning/getting ready to go to bed. Standing in front of a sink while simply brushing my teeth or washing my face is too boring xD. I also like listening to audiobooks during my bus ride to and from school/work because it can get difficult to read a physical book if the bus is crowded and I'm standing up. :)
Audiobooks are a part of my daily routine, I especially love listening to the narrator while reading the physical book (as you pointed out in the final tip) even though I use Audible, I also use an app called Scribd. It’s an amazing app for listening to audiobooks, although you have a limited selection of audiobooks, it’s still amazing
I've been wanting to try audio books for a while, but my attention span is awful and I didn't know what to do while listening to them. Thanks a lot for this video! It actually helped me a lot and now I'm pumped to fINALLY try listening to an audiobook.
What I usually do, is when an audiobook (actually, I've never used audiobooks, but I listen to Welcome to Night Vale, and it's basically the same thing) has a nice voice, I lay in my bed, close my eyes, and let it engulf me. I do this to help me sleep a lot and it is very relaxing.
i finish most of the books while commuting to college.. other places i listen to audiobooks are : small breaks / walking to classes (yes the campus is massive, and yes i walk about 15 min from one place to another) , while cleaning, definitely, while crafting / coloring/ or even cooking , lately I've been listening to audiobooks while even working in the research lab , and yeah no worries, when you repeat the same thing 50 times, its good to have a book in the background 😅
LOLL yeah. I play either candy crush or swipe brick breaker. And if you haven't read The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien I highly recommend the audiobook. The narrator is amazing and really makes you feel the emotions of the characters. It's basically an anthology of war stories about Vietnam, but the author's definition of "a war story" is really interesting and there's actually a section explaining his view. Great video btw!
I do #8 all the time! Its my favorite way to listen to audio books. I mostly use Overdrive and it also let's you adjust the narrator's speed which is nice because, as you said, the narrators sometimes tend to read slower than you do. I find reading along especially helpful with classics.

I listen to audiobooks while driving, doing chores and working out! For someone as busy as me, audiobooks are a great way to not not read for long periods of time! Being productive while listening is key:)
I've been reading my first audiobook, Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman and narrated by the author himself, and I would often sleep during the narration, so I found this video really helpful. Also, Audible is brilliant.
I don't listen to audiobooks, but podcasts are pretty similar, and I always listen to one while I do graphic design work for college. Really helps me to keep focus on work and block everything else out, more so than music as with that I get distracted by changing the songs all the time. I also used to have a 45 min walk home from school so I would always listen to one then. Need to get on that audiobook game!
Try doing dot-to-dots but with 500-1000+ dots. It's strangely calming!
I love to listen to audiobooks when I’m mowing, doing dishes, driving, and while getting ready in the morning. Also while playing lots of candy crush in all the different versions or while playing solitaire on my laptop.
Great video! My favorite way to audiobook is to listen while reading the actual book. I usually check out audiobooks of physical books/ebooks that I already own and go full speed ahead. Love it! Also, instead of candy crush, I play solitaire while listening to audiobooks. I do puzzles too but yeah, they're hard hahaha. I have coloring books but never tried it while audiobooking. Must try it! Love listening to audiobooks while on the treadmill if I need to switch it up from music/podcasts. Again, great video!!! I recommend all of the audiobooks of Matthew Quick's books.

I love audiobooks. I definitely listen to them when I'm either cleaning or walking my dog (sometimes but not all the time). I honestly listen to it whenever I get the chance like I listen to audiobooks when I walk to and from work and even on my lunch break at work. I just started to color and listen to audiobooks and that's pretty relaxing. I recommend Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter. I'm aware you haven't gave in a listen to Hamilton but this book was so much fun listening to.
If you haven't read The Silver Linings Playbook then I would definitely recommend listening to the audiobook because it was definitely an amazing experience for me! It is narrated at the first person and I just found the way the narrator spoke so fitting, I loved it!
In grad school, most of my required readings were public domain. I'd listen to them on libravox and craft, like knit scarves or make jewelry. I made almost all my Christmas gifts that way for a few years. It was something kinetic that didn't involve a lot of brain work, so my mind could focus on the story.
I would very highly recommend the Divergent series Audiobooks performed by Emma Galvin, her voice is just amazing, and if you've read the series first it's exactly what you would imagine the main characters voice to be. She can change her voice very well to do different characters in the book by making her voice higher or lower, raspier or clearer, energetic or calm, angry or sad. It's just amazing and I highly recommend.
Crafts are good to do whilst listening to audio books! I crochet and sew and they work really well with audiobooks.
I love number 3, 5, 7. I also love listening while taking off my makeup, painting my nails, getting ready, falling asleep, and while doing the dishes!
If you haven't tried them out yet, I would recommend the Miss Peregrine trilogy audiobooks. I'm currently on the third book and I really like the way the narrator reads it. But it's not a good audiobook to fall asleep to, cause you'll end up missing half the story. Love y'all!
I tend to use audiobooks to reread books. I find it can give me insights by listening to the way someone interprets how a sentence sounds. I recently just finished rereading the Harry Potter series this way and it was amazing!

Yes! I always listen to audio books when walking, it makes it way less boring and I get some exercise at the same time. If I'm at home I like to play 2048 endlessly while listening. I love the colouring idea though!
I recommend the Mistborn series audiobooks! Michael Kramer is an amazing narrator.
I like listening to audiobooks when I'm at school. So when I'm walking to class or waiting for class to start I can listen for a few minutes. Or just needing some downtime, sitting in the grass or in the library and just chilling with an audiobook.
I am a puzzle master and have a whole wall covered in them :) I usually build them while listening to audio books or cooking up my own stories in my head. Another thing that works is for artsy people to draw/paint/sew/craft while listening to books. And I've also listened to audiobooks while taking a bath :3

YES YES YES! MY FAVORITE THING IN YHE WORLD IS LISTENING TO AUDIOBOOKS AND DOING JIGSAW PUZZLES IS MY FAVORITE THING TO DO EVER!! I also love playing Tetris or Tetris blitz, or Auralux or another mindless app game.
I do all of these things while listening to audiobooks, except driving. I also love to listen to audiobooks at night before bed, since my eyes will be too blurry and tired to read (but my mind is still active and not tired yet). I've read so many audiobooks in the past 2 years and adore them, especially thanks to certain narrators who make the story even more alive.

I also recommend listening the the falling kingdoms series Jesse !! You'll love them !! It'll help finish them because I'm not sure exactly if you've caught up on them or not. The narrator, Fred berman, (who also did Kaz Brekker's chapters from the six of crows audiobook) he is amazing ! And also the game of thrones audiobooks ahhh loooove them !

my mom always has an audiobook with her so she has something to listen to while she's driving. She started using them mainly for long trips, but now she uses them all the time and turns it on even if she's just driving to the store.
I do the same thing!!! I get the audiobook and the book and follow along too! It really helps! I remember a lot more that way when I do that.

I love the audiobook videos! I often clean, cook, re-organize...while listening, tis great! I recently enjoyed Kindred on audio, as well earlier this year Winner's Curse, 15 lives of Harry August...currently getting in to Lies of Locke Lamora😀 keep the great videos comin!

Try listening to an audiobook while packing! A lot of people are taking trips or moving in and out of college and apartments. I personally hate packing but the time goes by much faster if you've got a good book on in the background :)
I'm an Architecture student, and i love listening to audiobooks while I make models or drawings, it's great.

I love audiobooks, I wouldn't get to enjoy nearly as many books if I didn't listen to them. I listen while out walking and while cleaning mostly. The only one you mentioned that I cannot do while listening to an audio book is organizing my bookshelves! I don't know why but I get distracted. Loved the video!
I like listening to audiobooks when I get ready in the morning/getting ready to go to bed. Standing in front of a sink while simply brushing my teeth or washing my face is too boring xD. I also like listening to audiobooks during my bus ride to and from school/work because it can get difficult to read a physical book if the bus is crowded and I'm standing up. :)

Audiobooks are a part of my daily routine, I especially love listening to the narrator while reading the physical book (as you pointed out in the final tip) even though I use Audible, I also use an app called Scribd. It’s an amazing app for listening to audiobooks, although you have a limited selection of audiobooks, it’s still amazing
I've been wanting to try audio books for a while, but my attention span is awful and I didn't know what to do while listening to them. Thanks a lot for this video! It actually helped me a lot and now I'm pumped to fINALLY try listening to an audiobook.
What I usually do, is when an audiobook (actually, I've never used audiobooks, but I listen to Welcome to Night Vale, and it's basically the same thing) has a nice voice, I lay in my bed, close my eyes, and let it engulf me. I do this to help me sleep a lot and it is very relaxing.
I clean my room when listening to audiobooks or I do a puzzle but these other ideas are GREAT
i finish most of the books while commuting to college.. other places i listen to audiobooks are : small breaks / walking to classes (yes the campus is massive, and yes i walk about 15 min from one place to another) , while cleaning, definitely, while crafting / coloring/ or even cooking , lately I've been listening to audiobooks while even working in the research lab , and yeah no worries, when you repeat the same thing 50 times, its good to have a book in the background 😅
LOLL yeah. I play either candy crush or swipe brick breaker. And if you haven't read The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien I highly recommend the audiobook. The narrator is amazing and really makes you feel the emotions of the characters. It's basically an anthology of war stories about Vietnam, but the author's definition of "a war story" is really interesting and there's actually a section explaining his view. Great video btw!
I do #8 all the time! Its my favorite way to listen to audio books. I mostly use Overdrive and it also let's you adjust the narrator's speed which is nice because, as you said, the narrators sometimes tend to read slower than you do. I find reading along especially helpful with classics.
