This support was epic. Not only cause Linhardt is the only one that can talk back to Edelgard and get her to back off, but in the end, it goes to show how much of an incredible leader Edelgard is, better than any other FE Lords honestly.
Because no other FE lords go out of their way to actually try to make a job that is legit ideal for someone. She took his thoughts and personality into account and actually worked to make a position where his research can not only benefit society, but also something that he can genuinely enjoy himself on. Edelgard is someone that goes the extra mile to try and help someone make use of their talents.
A leader like her at the end of Crimson Flower will undoubtedly help countless more people be able to make use of their talents in the best possible way and even take their own choice into account.

I have to respect 1) this being the one sole time to my memory Linhardt loses his chill and 2) telling the future Emperor of all people to go away.
I feel Edelgard’s good intent is the same in the first two and last two supports, she wants to get him to use his talent. This goes much better when she’s older, more considerate/appreciative of Linhardt’s personality- she doesn’t scold him for his meaningless research in the tomb or his ongoing desire to avoid hard work. It helps she’s just a bit of a nicer person overall indicated by Linhardt being willing to accept her poorer proposal just because he likes her enough.
She’s more willing to understand a personality with desires completely unlike her own, instead of trying to make him “realize” why he should be hyper ambitious and focused and all those things; it’s not who he is. Not to mention Edelgard’s a lot gentler in her war phase supports so her words come off as well intended instead of Linhardt rightly initially being offended by constant attacks on his character. Academy phase Linhardt definitely didn’t like her at all.
Character development (on both sides but especially for Edelgard)! The support isn’t deep so I get why it doesn’t get attention but I like it nonetheless!
