Thank you Tomo. For all my life I have avoided solfège but your simple explanation has opened it for me. Thank you also for all of your wonderful tutorials.
Say what?! (chuckles) Getting older (71 this year ... W oO w!) and getting better at pitch recognition thanks to your lessons. I'm having a great day. I hope this message finds you and the family in good health and spirits. I'll be here for your next wonderful bit of knowledge.
You can start at any time! I have many older subscribers at my Guitar Wisdom. Ken is about 70! He is posting a few blues etude (learned it by ears!) Good job! Thank you so much!
Thank you, Tomo! It’s interesting what guitarists say about you both in Russia and in Moldova, where I live)) Happiness is when you have found your calling.
Chef Tomo, excellent lesson...maybe another 3rd level lesson on walking bass lines. I went back to lesson with the cherry 335 and really understood. 2 years ago was over my head, but can thrive with it now through all your teachings over time. Thank you Brother Tomo!.....Tomo and the boys at the Bitter End!! Cannot wait
Thank you so much! My pleasure! More walking bassline lessons! Always a lot of fun! April 26th Friday 9:30pm! Low tickets alert! See you then!! I can't wait!!
So true. As a solo learner. Plateaus are difficult to get past without an external push. Saying notes out loud is so critical. Dedicated practice, practice, practice. Record it. Listen to it. Practice more. Be well Master Tomo and thanks Tom. PS. If it wasn’t for the Reminder app I would forget everything between puppies and guitars.
Hi Tomo, congratulations for your excellent work here. Just mention that the musical notes in Spanish are Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si (not Ti, not Te) Do , but perfectly understandable what you mean!! Regards.
Hi Tomo, Thanks for the videos, always great. But excuse me for this pretentious comment, but i think the name of the notes are : do ré mi fa SOL la SI do. And another thing for the arpegio, you say : "so do mi" (which in fact represent another thing ... :D ) and you should say : "soL do mi" to avoid any confusion. Hope i made you smile with this one :)
You're very welcome! Don't compare, this concept is in English so it's nothing to do with anything but just these sounds for studying intervals. Do Mi So, Mi So Do, So Do Mi... that's all. I enjoy reading everyone's comment. Thank you so much!
This is just what I was looking for, I’ve been really enjoying your videos lately prob because I’m finally starting to understand 😂 Thank you I appreciate you 🎸 🙏
I have been familiar with major scale! I kan make major from anny note without thinking, but steal cant sing with skipping notes. now move little bit to minor :)
Hi sensei Tomo, I really like your channel, you are really helpful for my growth and your positivity is a big plus for learning an instrument. I’m Italian and I have a funny question for you: why you pronounce the note “ti” instead of “si”? For an Italian is really weird to hear! Thank you sensei, you’re the best!
So happy to hear that! We pronounce Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do in America so don't worry what others ways. This way we learn & teach in the USA. Thank you!
Oh no I'm not worried, in Europe we say "Si" because the name of the notes comes from the first letters of an hymn by Guido D'Arezzo: Ut queant laxis resonare fibris, Mira gestorum famuli tuorum, Solve polluti labii reatum, Sancte Iohannes ...so instead of "Ti" it's "Si", Sancte Iohannes. Later "Ut" became "Do", which is for the latin "Dominus".

I am wondering why a chord is written as 9 or 13, instead of 2m or 6m. Should I identify it by its highest note? Btw this is a simple but very useful tutorial
Maybe you need to learn specific songs so that each song has those 9th or 13th tensions on specific chords. Learn this song " Feel Like Makin' Love " No need to be highest notes. For example, F13 = F7(13) could be X 6 7 7 6 X = X b7 M3 13 R X ... so 13th is not as top note! Great sounding chord!
Maybe I do not explain correctly I just want to ask the sample u play to identify 2th and 6th intervals by 9 and 13 haha And if the guitar wisdom could added some sections to talk about eartraining thanks a lot tomo !
