TY for the video, family is flying w/EVA Air next week. Total flight there 15 hour/layover 3hr/3hr final destination. The reverse it for coming back. Nice to see it’s going to be pleasant 🤞🏻
Ahh yay enjoy!!
Just stumbled upon your video when I was looking for reviews. I was offered to bid for an upgraded for my flight to Bali from Chicago with a layover in Taipei. Thanks for this review and I'm going to offer a $600 bid. Wish me luck!
Omg nice!! Hope it went through!
Hey, nice review 👍
The way you showed ur excitement over the amenity kits reminded me how I was the first time I flew in premium economy too.
After a while it kinda becomes old hat.
Definitely worth it to pick your meals online ahead of time bc many times they run out of your choice, esp if it's a full flight.
Also, interesting to note S.F. will be getting a new competitor to EVA Air later this year when Starlux Airways begins flights to Taipei out of SFO.
TY! And good to know about Starlux Airlines!
Thanks for the review! I’m debating whether I’d do business or premium economy and this helps a lot. Currently comparing all options since lax to Manila is a long flight 😂 these current prices for flights are ridiculous since that 3.2k flight was for business before the pandemic. I hope more Chinese carriers go back to their normal routes so we can get the most bang for our buck
Yay glad it was helpful! And yes omg I was thinking the same thing when I saw the prices. Basically a business class flight to any other Asian country 😅
You will regret take this airline check their review
Did you have to go through customs or some sort of security check for your layover? I have a 2 hour layover and I’m nervous it won’t be enough time.
Yep I did have to go through security check in Taipei - line was long but if you have a short connection just let one of the staff know and they can help you move up to the front of the line
good review - 2 questions - 1) Did you return on EVA via TPE also and if so, 2) Do you hold a Chinese or American passport? My wife is Chinese and we're going in September. We booked EVA Premium Econ on the way but it seemed for Chinese passport holders it would have been a challenge to get the transit visa from mainland to Taiwan even if it is just in transit so we booked return on Singapore Airlines.
I did return on EVA from PVG -> TPE and then TPE -> SFO. I hold an American passport so not really sure about what the transit visa process is like :/
I read Taiwan's airlines such as EVA Air and China Airlines provide easy transit in Taipei both ways on the way to and from China for passengers with Chinese passports.
They want to expand Taipei as a major transit hub, including those with Chinese passports.
But you can contact the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in S.F. to make sure for next time.
It would have been much quicker to return via Taipei instead of Singapore, which adds several more hours.

Hi. We're you asked for vaccination proof for layover in Taipei? Thanks
I was not. I actually have another video about this but China doesn't care if you're vaccinated. When I went, they required everyone from the US to take a PCR test within 48 hrs of boarding the flight into China. As of this past week though I think they dropped that requirement and they're now ok with rapid antigen tests. But here's the link to the video in case you're interested: ruclips.net/video/IL4QuNHShl4/видео.html
Does the seat have an elevating calf pad/ leg rest?
No leg rest but there is a foot rest that you can pull down from the seat in front of you
how are the seats? did it recline more for better sleep?
I thought the seats were fine. Pretty spacious and reclined enough for good sleep!
I flew EVA premium for the first time because of the many high reviews. The seats were not as spacious and personal like China airlines. Try china air premium economy next time. You may notice it's the small attention to details that make a huge difference (e.g. type of headset, amenity kits, seats that slide down versus recline back, etc.)
Ooo good to know thanks for sharing! Hoping to try china air someday!
I flew EVA before they had a great movie selection
do they give you choices of free liquor/alcohol
They definitely offer free red/white/sparkling wines! I can’t quite remember if they offered hard alcohol but I don’t think they did
Does EVA allow premium economy customers to use the lounges like ANA does?
I don’t think so unless you have silver status with EVA. Otherwise if you have priority pass there are some pretty good lounges you can get into
This is a pretty unhelpful review. You spend more time examining the amenity kit at home than you did examining the seat and its features in the airplane itself. We watch these videos to see how comfortable we might be in the airplane, but your video does very little to address that concern
Most horrible Eva us airline. 0 customer service! How it become high level? Must be paid ads
Sorry, I strongly do not agree, I flew with them for 20+ years and I find they are the best of all my experiences. Do you work for the oppositions?😅
