I always felt dumb in my 20's. But during my 30's and 40's, I realized that I was a special human being . I'm 55 now. Very mature and I really love myself and I never feel stupid at all anymore 😊

A year ago I was watching videos on philosophy, suddenly a video popped describing the INFJ, I became suspicious inmediatly that I was one.
I payed 20€ to do a 200 question test took my time answering all the questions calmly.
The result was that I was an INFJ. I cried. This was last year at the age of 36 and I finally understood why I was so different to everyone else and very few people understood me.
I finally understood why I was able to know the outcomes of events, people, who was an asshole, why I was capable of being the center of a conversation yet a few minutes later withdrawing with mymind being tired of speaking.
My cousin was the first person I told about my personality type and he did not believe me. He said that the few times we had been with people I was always extroverted.
Both my parents are narcisists which is something I have seen is a common pattern in many INFJs, we had to understand subtle clues from our parents from a very early age, being an INFJ is at least in my case a survival mechanism, I had to learn to empathise early on in life in order to adapt.
I am who I am but sometimes I just wish I was like most people because being who I am has come at a great cost both mentally and spiritually but it is a blessing and a curse.

Approximatively same for me, turned 36 few weeks ago and learned last year I am Infj personnality type. It's good to read someone as lost as me discovering the nature and difficulties of being Infj. But also I am grateful having now clues to understand why I feel so much different from a very large circle of people. I hope you find your way understanding and living the way you are meant to be. Best regards

At 36 I learned the personality type of the mother of my children after a decade of wondering where I went wrong and blaming myself, this stopped a lot of growth. And now at 40 I'm feeling this personality type seems to fit my description.
But jeez I've suffered, continually questioning myself and had very little growth.
I just went to the docs yesterday to organise seeing a councillor and on that first consultation I knew he is a doc I will continue to see. I did a little questionnaire and have been labelled as depressed yet again and a pill will fix it, which of the variety they have had me on I know does not, only makes me feel worse about myself. When he told me about the outcome of the questionnaire I told him no it's just logic and gave a few examples.
I hope I can achieve a tiny little dream of mine that has been so hard to obtain, I got there once and had it all shattered by the mother of my children. But in spirituality we design these lives for ourselves before we enter our vessels.

"If you're an INFJ, don't pick yourself apart for everything, chances are, it's not even your fault" (0.5 seconds later) "If you wanna hear about all the creepy things INFJs do..." I really appreciated that half second self esteem boost before the fall 😂

Sheesh, this solidifies the idea I realized recently.... maybe I'm not always at fault. It's easier to see how I could have done better from some aspect. I'm just now realizing mid-30's that taking accountability is good but sometimes the blame isn't all my own.

    Ha! Wow, incredibly accurate. 😅
What's interesting about the chronic disatisfaction is that when it's coupled to over-committing, to some people outside of us who are doing the same thing, we may look like over-achievers or brown nosers. Or worse yet, point out their "flaws" because what they've "accepted" we may project the idea that they've "resigned to." "You do you" somehow translates in their minds to "you think you're better than me?"
I have a constant internal drive to "make it better," even if only minimally, because I want what's best, most efficient, most perfect, all encompassing, etc solution. And when I manage to succeed at getting just a better by being different, and thinking outside the box, it can look as though I'm saying that what others take as the norm, conventional or ideal is actually inadequate, ill-informed, etc. So there may be a time when I'm viewed by others as amazing because of my novel thinking, but with time I often get people who resent me because they begin to feel insecure that they didn't think that way or put in that level of effort. This has happened to me in friendships, with co-workers, and when I became a parent.
I'm not trying to be better than anyone, I don't see the point of competing with others. I'd rather learn from those around me. Jim Kwik likes to say that "genius leaves clues." I'm always looking to see what gems others may drap because I can't help but try to make the best of my life and my circumstances. And even if it may seem stupid to try that hard and I know I'll never reach perfection, I'll still have blast learning all that could learn.
I mean, as an INFJ, you're telling me something I already know. Yet I'm still here to learn just in case you add something that could make me better or make my life just a little bit easier through understanding myself more. So it may seem stupid to give in to my "chronic disatisfaction", but hey, at least you get some views. And for us INFJs, we learn learn a little more and hopefully it'll help us get a little bit better (for some, maybe even a lot). So thanks for mentioning it. ^-^

Bosses wife wasn't to tell me but it was said ,not every company in its working lifetime is fortunate enough to land a guy (INFJ) like me.
Helped many become richer by advantage while I remain as an apprentice 50 years and counting (wages that is) and if time equates to money,I am usually told my productive output combined with consistent quality is typically double the average. Because I'm chronic with pot use even though all my finest work achieved by the calming towards pin point accuracy all the while maintaining time efficiency,I let others take advantage of my Quirks and remain low pay. I guess that is a bit stupid although I still get the red carpet treatment and get to live life more on my own terms. That's the trade off. I once got 10 years free rent in Vancouver in hopes I would stay around and keep working

Chronic dissatisfaction with life, yep....except for nature. The philosophical questions, oh yeah, very important. Idealising people by magnifying partners qualities and overlooking their flaws. Forehead slap. I've asked so many "experts" what personality type I am to never get an answer, it would be hard to uncover with some of my outbursts.

There are some grains of truth in here but this seems aimed at normalizing the kind of baby INFJ who hasn't yet done self work into fitting in with the expectations of capitalistic society and honey, that's not what we're here to do. "Everyday" things are only difficult for us when we see through how superfluous and boring they are. "Idealizing" may be what it looks like to someone who doesn't see the yin-yang of love and only sees the cost-benefit of capitalism, but, again, that's not what we're here to do.

So, as an INFJ, I'm not an INFJ because of how I usually DON'T do these things anyway? Things said to be called stupid from the same type of usual 'spectators' who can't keep us from living rent-free upstairs hopelessly, even as hopeless as we suddenly are AGAIN in another one of these types of INFJ 'review' videos.
The blame ourselves for everything comment refutes the entire video alone also.
