    The explanations were so very useful. For instance, about the neck strap adjustment, depending upon bust size, preference. Another adjustment I realized I need to think about ahead of time is the cut of the curve from top to side - because the ties go where the waist is and the waist is going to be in a different place for me than my husband.

    What a great pattern. So simple and yet so cute. I love the idea of an apron for my sewing room. Using sewing themed fabric would be so adorable. I am thinking aprons would be a great family Christmas gift. Either make them all the same or personalize each person's fabric based on their own likes or interests.

Cute apron and I need one fast, need it for tomorrow in fact, so going to give this a try. I hope. If not, I will give it a try soon because I need to get a few made ahead of time. I usually put a little strap un the side of the apron to hang a small hand towell. So I have it literally on me all the time while I´m moving around in the kitchen! and Also put the straps before you do the edges of the apron. That way you hide the borders..

    You could add ruffles pretty easily to this too, to the hem and neck edge if you want to make a fancy 'hostess' apron. Also, since this is only one layer does it feel flimsy? I would want to do two of the body parts, with the straps sewn in between. This would also make it reversible.

    • @PinCutSew
      @PinCutSew  2 года назад +1

      That’s true, good idea! The one layer does the job, but I do like the thicker fabrics best.

    Because you are using an apron that you already have, as a pattern, there is another way that you could cut out a new one. Fold your apron in half, lengthwise and measure how wide the skirt area is. Let just say that it is 12 inches. Instead of using the fold that was created on your fabric from beginning on a bolt, unfold the fabric. Create a fold based on the measurement of your existing apron, that was folded, for instance, 12”. Now the long folded edge is 12”, or whatever, from the fold to the finished edge of your material. The left over amount of fabric, for the pocket and straps, will be a larger piece. You can fold that remaining piece in half, lengthwise, according to the width of the waist straps.

    I like the idea and I like that you used an old apron to trace. But what I don't like is you drew your first straight line on a crooked piece of fabric, especially a fabric that's patterned like that. If it's not plain, you can't do that.
    You have to draw a straight lines on a straight piece of fabric

    So if you sew one end of the apron strings, how are you supposed to get the safety pin to go through the other end? I’m sure I’m missing something.

    • @PinCutSew
      @PinCutSew  11 месяцев назад +1

      You put the safety pin on the closed end and then sort of invert that end into the tube. Once you get it started, the safety pin will move right along. I hope that makes sense!

I was taught to fold the fabric to accommodate the pattern piece width and leave one large scrap instead of 2 narrow ones. I see this in a lot on videos on RUclips. Does it really matter if you are trying to be frugal?
