Hard times and watch before McKenna, I remember my mates were mixed from not knowing too much about him to let’s give a young manager with fresh ideas a chance, so glad we did , what a few years he’s given us , I travel around the country with my job and when the subject gets round to football there’s a common theme, he’s respected for what he’s achieved, great times 🤞🏻 for more

The big difference between McKenna and the other managers we've had is the massive improvement he (and Martyn Pert) have made to so many of our players. Six league 1 players started for us on Saturday and three years ago not all of them were even particularly good league 1 players.

As I could probably speak for most fans when we heard that this guy called KM was being appointed we’d all have been like who.? But wow what an amazing 3 years this have been.. MA KM and the new owners have transformed our Ipswich Town…

You mentioned Barnsley League One away and Coventry City Championship away. I went to both promotion parties pretty much. Enjoyed both atmospheres. Well worth travelling to them aswell as all the others. My memory of Keiran McKenna was Doncaster Rovers away on a cold Tuesday night when I meet McKenna in person for the first time in League One and I done MK Don's away that Saturday aswell as working four days that week aswell. Nice bloke always finds time for the fans.

A fantastic coach/manager/person. Even when we have disappointing days, you always reflect that with him at the helm ,in the long run we'll be OK.

I felt a very strong intuition we'd go all the way with McKenna from the early matches in league one. No one believed me at the time. My Accy/Blackburn supporting brother in law actually laughed at the notion.

Knew nothing about McKenna at the time of his appointment. Was a little sceptical at the time seemed a bit of a shot in the dark. But shows what I knew. Almost instant improvement from his first game in charge and quite simply hardly put a foot wrong since. Inspired appointment from Mark Ashton. Here is hoping for another 3 years before he goes off to manage Man Utd once Ruby Interim has got sacked 😍😜

He's everything you said at the beginning. It was a gamble by MA but he obviously knew what type of man and manager he was getting . So Kudos to MA whom I believe is the best signing this club has made followed by KM.

Felt he might rescue us from the depth of L1 & restore us to where we were under Sooper Jim, winning the bulk of our home games in the championship but not really troubling the top 6 either.
Instead he has taken us back to where we were under John Lyall in 3 seasons.
If we can hang on to him for another 2 or 3 years feel he will take us back to where Burley had us in 2000/1. Longer and he could even match Sir Bobby.

Was a bit dubious to start with, but to be fair was happy he wasn't called Paul. Showed how good a coach he is and how he got so much out of the players. He's got us playing with a great style and back to back promotions wow! I feel he is still learning too, so I think only more to come, hopefully with us. Coventry away last season, wow, what a night that was!

I remember thinking how swift and ruthless the new owners were to replace Paul Cook. I wasn't opposed to the decision, in fact I was quite impressed. These guys aren't shitting about.

After listening to his first press conference I thought he was uninspiring...boy was I wrong. He is such a knowledgeable and engaging manager with tremendous tactical and interpersonal skills coupled with intergeity. Glad I know nothing. Lol😂

Unlike Rich I haven't met KM, but based on that press conference and interactions with the crowd I get the impression he's rather reserved and wasn't used to being in the limelight.

Who knew, what we need to do is to play without fear
It showed on Saturday, things are a little out of kilter.
Play in the box needs speed to add to their play. Its just a knoch off.

ITFC has been at its best with an aspiring young manager at the helm. Kieran McKenna fits that description. There are always football managers out of work- just ask Russell Martin and Gary O'Neill- and it's probably very easy for clubs to think "He'll do" simply because he's available. The club put in a huge amount of work finding the right man for the job. Although last season's promotion took us to the promised land that is the Premier League, I found the promotion from League 1 just as special; it was a declaration of intent. We were on our way back. Several of the squad have now played and sometimes scored, in all four divisions. I think KM's coaching is a contributing factor.

I always thought it was a similar scenario to when Bobby Robson came in from Fulham in 1969
