    Getting updates on current events from this channel feels much less stressful than general news because of the educational insight that comes along with it.
    I at least feel empowered that I’m learning more about the world than I would from simply seeing terrifying headlines, a summary of events, and moving on with my day.
    Thank you. It helps to feel like there’s something I can grapple, encapsulate, and walk away with during all this conflict.
    And for anyone reading this in the US, I hope you share the vigor that it’s given me to get my vote in, it seems like there’s potential for a lot of war these next few years and this election couldn’t be any more important.

      Anyways, don't you have any understanding for someone that shows discontent with popular media? Wouldn't you see how this could have someone loose their interest in following current world events when the majority of media is what it is?
      You seem to jump to the conclusion that they have never had an interest when all they said is that this channel is giving them hope to get valuable information that is not tricking them for attention.

    Speaking as a nuclear engineer:
    The analogy used when talking about enriched uranium is very bad. Centrifuges are extremely power hungry devices, and having 60% U235 does make enriching easier, but that misses the point. The point is: You do not use 60% U235 for civilian purposes, anything above ~35% is reaching the upper limits of power generation enrichment. most reactors use anywhere from 1% enrichment to 30% enrichment. If a country is found to have 60% enriched uranium, it has uranium that is enriched past civilian use. This is the important point

    The insult that these videos convey: "zero actual information" may stem from the fact that no absolute conclusions are drawn about what will and will not happen. In that case it would inadvertently be a compliment that the videos are objective analyses that acknowledge that it is impossible to predict exactly what will happen and understand that the most we can do is speculate based on theories.

    • @LackofFaithify
      @LackofFaithify 2 месяца назад +9

      This one, in particular, has zero actual information because it completely leaves out how the Ayatollah even had a movement to begin with or why the Shah was seemingly all powerful. It leaves out entirely the coup started and backed by the US that overthrew the democratically elected government and centralized all power under the Shah. Why did this happen? The UK thought it had the rights to every cent of money they pumped out of Iran. The Iranians thought, you know, maybe they deserved some of the money from their oil being sold. The US naturally sided with Iran against the UK...lol...no, it happened the way you think it would, hence the coup, and the US creating one of its current worst enemies. Not saying all of the US' enemies are self made, I'm saying all of the current enemies are self made. Maybe in the future there will be different. So, if you don't even know why a thing exists, no wonder you can't predict where a thing may go.

      @UGNAvalon 2 месяца назад +23

      Helping viewers understand theory is a valid form of information transfer. I would argue that it's actually MORE valuable than predictions of what is most likely to happen next, because it allows the viewer to assess other factors as they come up.
      If you want absolute predictions with very little chance I'd them coming off, and no understanding of why they might not, then former President Trump is a better source. He's still predicting a win for his team in 2020, fgs, illustrating that he's the expert on fake certainty.
      But if you prefer to be treated as an intelligent adult, stick with this channel.

    • @monkemode8128
      @monkemode8128 2 месяца назад +7

      @@LackofFaithify I agree but is that too relevant to this specific video? That's like starting a video about the US invading Afghanistan by going back 300 years to the founding of the US and explaining every decision and lucky break the US had to get to the point where they were capable of launching an invasion on the other side of the planet. Technically, yes, it's relevant in that if the US had never been founded or gotten so powerful it wouldn't have happened, but it wouldn't be the point of the video.
      If the video was titled "History of Iran" or "How Iran became the United State's enemy", then yes, that'd be relevant.

I felt compelled to leave this comment because of the comment that someone else had left about how their conclusion was that your videos are pointless. I find them refreshing because they allow me to draw my OWN conclusions, and for every point you make comes a salient example or supporting evidence. Unfortunately the youtube algorithm is constantly pushing videos from other channels that simply mske claims to know this fact X1 and that fact X2 , with possibility Y being the only sure outcome from any interaction..etc. In short, I think your videos are great and if I were to be back in college again I would absolutely want to enroll, or at least sit in on your lectures!

    The portion about submarine minelaying is very poorly researched. There are no "safety corridors" and Iran's subs are considered very capable at minelaying. The mines would be primarily laid just outside the Straight of Hormuz, not right on it as that isn't necessary. The depth issue is frankly... not an issue. They would have to surface eventually, but SSK endurance here is also very underestimated. All of Iran's currently operating subs are capable of minelaying and returning to their berths without puttering around on the surface. It would still be very risky, but I feel that the roadblocks detailed in the video drastically underestimate Iran's submarine force. This is a growing threat that is increasing year on year. The latest mines they use were purchased from China and can operate at depths up to 350 feet as well as very shallow water.

    • @richardarriaga6271

      Seems pretty dumb for China to sell mines when it has the most to lose from a conflict over oil in the region.
