Thank you for putting together this video, I really appreciate all the insight you have.I am shopping for an RC truck for a friend's son and I don't know too much about the hobby so a video like this is very helpful. Kind of thinking I should get one for myself too.
The 18859 is more controllable mainly due to its slower speed. It is better at slow speed maneuvers. Straight line, the brushless is considerably faster, however, since it lacks steering intervention with a gyroscope in the receiver, it can be a bit unwieldy once you get up to top speed.
Thank you for the in depth video!! I just purchased the HBX 18859A and can't wait to start bashing!! I also bought an in expensive LiPo balanced charger on Amazon for about $28 cdn. I'm really new to the hobby and felt this car was the best value to dollar.
Good video. I like how in detail you were with everything. I got the brushed one coming in the mail, but I’m kind of wishing I got the brushless one for more and it’s on sale on Amazon. Might just keep that one and get the other one still and have both. How often do you need to replace the motor in the brushless ones? That has me worried a little bit.
Good video! I got into the 1/18 scale because I have a barn I am putting a small dirt track in. I really like my 18859a I started posting videos if you would like to see how it comes along. I am going to build a 1/24 scale crawler course in there too.
Excellent review of the RC cars…..I bought the brushless version from your link and got 25%off from Amazon $115 😏 good price! Christmas gift for my 9 years old daughter checked ✔️🎁…..I’m gonna use it more than her😁
I have the older one and it quit going forward and reverse but still turns wheels left and right got another motor and didn’t fix my problem what else can I do to fix my problem. Thanks in advance. Todd
Hello, we use a charger from a company called Hitec the RCD -X2, but there are many good chargers on the market including the lower cost RDX1 that are less expensive. I would check a company called Dynamite as well!
hi i am a beginner and i am confused on the charging on lipo batteries as I have heard that you need to balnce charge them with some device. Would the balance lead alone whith the usb be enough to balnce them or would i have to buy some sort of lipo charging device i am so confused thank you.
@CHICO-bw8hs Hi there, great question. You have a few options when it comes to charging. First and foremost, yes you have to make sure the cells are charged so they are balanced in voltage. Any discrepancy makes the battery unstable and causes a risk of failure. If you have a charger that came with your RC car/battery that charges from the balance lead that will work fine for that battery. The downside to using the supplied USB chargers are the following: 1. Slow Charge time: Balance lead charging is slower than charging from the main battery connection using a more expensive smart Lipo Charger. 2. The supplied chargers may not support charging other battery types and different Lipo Battery voltages, for example, a USB Lipo Charger that is designed to charge a 2S (7.4v) battery cannot charge a 3S (11.1v) Lipo because the balance connector is different. So if you have different cars that use different batteries, it might make sense to pick up a charger that can handle the different types. If you have a smart battery charger, you can select different battery types (Lipo, Lipo HV, L-ION, NiMh). A smart charger will also be able to charge different battery connector types like T Style (aka Dean's Connector), XT-60, etc. You would only need to purchase the charge connectors that match the battery connector types you have or buy a series of adaptors (available online) that allow you to connect to nearly any type of battery connector. I hope this explanation makes sense. Please let me know if you need further clarification. Most of all, have FUN!
@@fatherandsonrc so for this car specifically does the usb know if the cells are balanced and charges each cell individually according to its needs are does it send the same charge to all the cells equality regardless of the condition of each the cell? thank you
The 1000 that comes with the A now are decent. I wouldn't go any bigger since weight is more and then you upset chassis a bit and does more damage to the truck when crashing! Go for a bigger C battery so it won't ever be lacking current to esc, I think stock is 25C so 50 C would be able to provide more current if needed plus not get as hot.
This is the best unboxing video ever, I've never been so informed on a product 🤯💪

You are very welcome and I'm very happy it helped provide some insight into the hobby!
Great job covering Lipo saftey. You covered everything on the Haiboxing like a champ. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Thank you, we appreciate that! 🙏
I like the 18859 better feels that it has better control and better straight line speed and control I have both versions

Great trucks for the price. I did full metal upgrades on mine. I really enjoy them.
Agreed, very hard to beat!

I also bought the same truck, do you have the name or link for the battery?
You are very welcome! I'm glad you found it useful.

Very happy to hear! I hope you are enjoying it. 😁
Rally helpful comparison between the two versions!
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful!
Can you change pinion and spur to trade top speed for more low torque? Or is it not that easy to mod?
Unfortunately the motor is fixed so you can't adjust it to change spur and pinion gearing.
I have the older one and it quit going forward and reverse but still turns wheels left and right got another motor and didn’t fix my problem what else can I do to fix my problem. Thanks in advance. Todd
@kennethcrowley1356 It sounds like it might be an issue with the speed controller portion of the 2 in 1 Receiver/ESC.
Great video!!
Thank you! 👊
Looks like the "A" version is just a 18859 with all the nice upgrade parts you can buy.
Yes, you're right. I think it's cheaper to buy this rather than the upgrade parts Individually though.
Hi just what kind of upgrade usb charger you suggest to charge the battery faster?

Hi I like the bag for safety
I’m looking for a safe fast usb charger for the rc battery and suggesting and can you link too I appreciate it nice video
Thank you, it's a low cost investment in safety.

@CHICO-bw8hs Yes, the charger will balance charge but will do so much slower.
@@fatherandsonrc thank you
Hey! You have the same lipo bag I have! 👍
Nice, they work well! 👍
nice video. i liked and subscribed, can't wait to see your channel take off.
Thank you! We appreciate it!
Hi, any idea if these can be upgraded with larger wheels such as those offered for the 16889? I'd like to increase the off road capabilities.
We haven't had the 16889 in our hands, but based on how Haiboxing designs their product platforms the wheelset from the 16889 should work fine.
In HBX 18859a we go 1000mah battery till how much we can battery upgrade
The 1000 that comes with the A now are decent.

Are the body interchangeable between both versions?
Yes, you can directly swap the bodies as the posts are in the exact same location on each chassis.
Just subbed liked this video and what you had to say thx.
Thank you! We appreciate you joining!
