Excellent! The skateboard shaped bench is well crafted & easy on the eyes. I really like the mitered apron underneath with the "Jasper Makes" inspired double-cut corner tenons. I too, have contemplated nixing the chop saw, that well made table saw sled has made me less dependent on the chop saw for cross-cut operations. The only thing I've found in working with pine: it does put considerably more pitch on saw & thicknesser blades. See you next time mate!

What would you suggest when the standard pallet is too big for my sedan boot, no towbar? Can you cut/break down the pallets on-sites near the skip bins? Thanks .
Nice work Dainsey, the first big thing I made in my workshop other than my workbench was a giant wall mounted glueing up board. Its perfect for glueing small bits of scrap wood into body blanks for guitars. Top tip, ditch the grease proof paper, just use cheap car body wax. The glue will not stick 😀 Just gotta remember to reapply every few months.
@dainermade not if you use car wax, the sawdust just brushes off. But my clamping board is mounted vertical on my wall, not sure if that makes a difference 😀
What was the 5th tool? Did I somehow miss this? Was it the jigsaw, or...? Also... thanks a ton for sharing your videos and knowledge! You are such a generous person! You and Jesper alone have given me so much newfound hope and inspiration, I cannot wait to get started! I've already got about a dozen pallets laying around ( assembled and disassembled ), as I've already found their repurposed wood to come in handy when it comes to making different things ( raised bed planter boxes and goat feeders/milking stands and stanchions to name a few ). Anyways, so glad I found you guys! Keep up the good work and videos mate! Cheers!!
Hi Mark, great video ... what brand and model replacement table saw are you getting? Also with your Dewalt thickness planer are you using the standard blades or upgraded to the spiral blades? Ethan
It’ll be a 12in Sherwood cabinet saw. Very exciting. I upgraded the planer blades, possibly the best upgrade I’ve ever done. The economics of that alone is worth it line term. And it’s so much quieter and it eats timber alive.
I love your channel. It has given me a bit of an obsession for wood work and haven’t even really started yet but would love to know about your dust extraction?
Marion 3.0 is looking great, Mark - just on my way over to sub to your new channel. Only space I have for building is the kitchen and a 3mx2m space in the back yard when the weather allows (space v limited here in the UK) so no space for a table saw but I did stretch to a track saw - and a shop-vac to help maintain the matrimonial bliss on the kitchen days. Keep doing what you do and inspiring us all!
@@arcadia1081 My latest build was a TV stand from reclaimed scaffold boards. The boards were cupped, twisted, and showed all the signs of being heavily used on building sites (cement dust, paint, welding burns, etc.). They were too far gone to try to retain their industrial look, so I took more than two days just sanding down the boards to 240 grit, getting rid of the worst of the cupping and twisting (no plane!) and then had my first go at cutting rebate joints with a track saw - not quite as easy as I imagined. Would love to build a workbench like you but, sadly, I'd have no room to put it! I think bird nesting boxes may be a project for the near future.
And also if you live here in the US I'm sure there is pawn shops around there is here in the US and I'm sure they're in other countries to you can find really good tools really cheap just got a boss jigsaw cost $200 at home Depot got it for 40 bucks at the pawn shop
Love your videos! Im starting to do some pallet projects but in not sure how to tell is a pallet is pine or some kind of hardwood. Do you have any tips to tell de difference?
Any tips on braking up the pallets? The ones in the USA have twisted nails, and can take 20 minutes PER SLAT!..(and that's if you don't wreck the wood).. You make it look so easy!!..😢

@@dainermade it's just two rockers rocking out brah 🤘🤘🎸🎸👨🎤👨🎤
@@woodfather oh. Sorry my brain did not make the link. Imadick
What would you suggest when the standard pallet is too big for my sedan boot, no towbar? Can you cut/break down the pallets on-sites near the skip bins? Thanks .
I’d say have a battery recip saw or circular in the car and break them down a little. I’d take your pallet buster with you
Another great palet video 👍
May I suggest the addition of a cheapo metal detector to save other tools sharpy edges ?
You may 🤣 I use one regularly and have shown it in many many videos. But , thank you
Nice work Dainsey, the first big thing I made in my workshop other than my workbench was a giant wall mounted glueing up board. Its perfect for glueing small bits of scrap wood into body blanks for guitars.
Top tip, ditch the grease proof paper, just use cheap car body wax. The glue will not stick 😀 Just gotta remember to reapply every few months.
That's a great idea! Does dust stick it though. That’s my next biggest problem
@@dainermade yes it does. Gotta keep it covered with a sheet of melamine if the glue up board stays out in the open. I use wax paper as well btw.
@dainermade not if you use car wax, the sawdust just brushes off. But my clamping board is mounted vertical on my wall, not sure if that makes a difference 😀
Have you heard of "cigar box guitars"? They are cool projects!
A C&C is a luxury, but the Mitre saw is a necessity for me. Especially for house renovation work.
Cool mate, we all have different needs and or wants. cheers
@@dainermade Yep! I would love a C&C machine though! The wife would kill me because it would replace her car's spot in the garage.
Cheers!!
Im gonna make me one of those pallet busters. What are you using? 1" sq tubing? 3' tall with 4-5" prongs welded to the a 4" cross bar?
Hmm 35mm 1.5 inch. Just make your prongs about 110mm apart to span the broader runners and slats
@@dainermade gotcha 👍 thanks mate
Just get started got me started 🤟🏽😎🤟🏽
Excellent! Carry on and enjoy 😁
This was excellent, I wish the sun was my problem. More like "ill do this inside so I don't drown!"
I barley even rains here 🤣 cheers
Hi Mark, great video ... what brand and model replacement table saw are you getting? Also with your Dewalt thickness planer are you using the standard blades or upgraded to the spiral blades? Ethan
It’ll be a 12in Sherwood cabinet saw. Very exciting. I upgraded the planer blades, possibly the best upgrade I’ve ever done. The economics of that alone is worth it line term. And it’s so much quieter and it eats timber alive.
Hi Mark would you be able to tell me were you bye your glue from
I get it from studio Dubbeld in Townsville. Cheapest Titebond in my area or online
Can you show how you made the jig you use on the table saw and specifically how it works?
I love your channel. It has given me a bit of an obsession for wood work and haven’t even really started yet but would love to know about your dust extraction?
Awesome mate, I am running a 2HP system with a DIY cyclone. I plan on going right into dust on the new channel. Cheers
Thanks mate. That is pokey! But if there is a will there is a way. Enjoy
Care to show and tell what you build? I've done a workbench and bird table! :)
Thank you
also what bit in the router to "plain" the glued up wood off with?
Hi, great videos. May I ask what glue and filler you use?
Love your videos! Im starting to do some pallet projects but in not sure how to tell is a pallet is pine or some kind of hardwood. Do you have any tips to tell de difference?
Any tips on braking up the pallets?
The ones in the USA have twisted nails, and can take 20 minutes PER SLAT!..(and that's if you don't wreck the wood)..
You make it look so easy!!..😢
Yes. I have a pallet breaking video
@@dainermade thanks. going to search it out.
That is cool my friend.
👍🙏💪🇺🇸
Thanks mate
here's crazy idea could have expanded or build second shed don't need council approval for garden sheds or expansions to existing sheds would give some where better suited for cnc and engraver plus extra wood storage for when good pallets are scarce. sure your your work would be worth the investment into bigger working space. i got started 18 months ago skills aren't there yet to starting selling stuff but maybe one living an hr from nearest town will make things harder
I hear ya mate. I did consider a little CNC laser shed 🤣 All good though! I’ll find a way. Cheers
can you do a video . on your videography set up. how you set camras, what shop lights you have, etc?
Hello, I’m thinking I’ll include that into a tour of the shed on the other channel
What were those ratchet clamps? I couldn't find them in the description. Are they Matchfit dovetail clamps?
Just search ratchet clamp on banggood or Amazon
good job very interesting , i need to make something on the same lines to put my band saw and thicknesser on , the joints look a bit over my skill set what would you recommend
Hi mate, Just do the half lap don't worry about the mitre. That would be fine a stand
@@dainermade i bought some metal ones on wheels to save me alot of work , but like you say just get started and im doing it , side hussle to start with i guess
Why if you have a jointer you stilll straighten with a jig? is it just faster?
It is about 50:50. Really wonky boards it is much faster. I do both sometimes. But learn toward the saw, maybe from old habits. It’s also worth showing to people who don’t have a jointer
