Played the demo during NEXTfest, and was amazed at how much more I like this version compared to the standard. Immediate wishlist. And then Tom plays it, and my heart swells!
Very impressed with how this looks! Not only is it faithful to DRG but is also an interesting twist on the survivor-likes. Looking forward to the full release!
I'm glad Tom checked this out. I saw it in the Steam Next Fest, but didn't get around to playing it myself, then I went and checked to see if the demo was still available and it is.
wow, this is the first time that I learned about a survivorlike before Tom, instead of learning about it from Tom. I was wondering when it'd show up on the channel
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1418 ROCK AND STONE Oh now, how did I not know of this Spin Off before, god, so good. Not to mention, JUST THE DEMO, WOW :O Well I can't wait for the full thing and I hope we get to see Tom play more. Even play some of the original game too :D I tell you, never the same without Molly or dropping an explosive at the drop pod to kill your comrades I will say though, having you not be able to Kill the Loot Bugs :D, best feature, they needed that
TOM! Please play more Lies of P. Perhaps even as an exclusive for members. I'd certainly sign up for that. It's one of my favorite games and you're one of my favorite youtubers! ❤
World of Horror released yesterday, are you going to play more of it? I really enjoyed your videos on it, 3 fricken years ago, I can't believe it's been that long!
Deep Rock Galactic is amazing, but this game uses none of the strengths of the original game apart from its assets. The interaction between the different roles, the stress to fulfill objectives in a complex environment, the level of customization for your loadout. I thought for sure I'd buy this, but after watching the video I've changed my mind.
DRG was awesome but I thought making a Survivor-like of it was a weird choice, I played the demo and was super hyped until I got into it. Not being able to aim your weapon feels really bad to me. There was another demo in the nextfest called Apocalypse Party, less of a survivor-like and more of a twin stick shooter but it was so much fun whereas this gave me a huge meh. I'd love to know what you think of the other game though!
I wonder if some of the other weapons in the full release will let you aim them, maybe that could be the gunners speciality I’ll make sure to try Apocalypse Party when I can :)
I just beat Hazard 3 yesterday. piece of advice, base scout is better than the other option. shotgun, the rifle, and the M1000 combo real good, just don't change damage types. prioritize gold and nitrate collection for upgrades, and you should be fine. P.S., the M1000 can be turned into a 9000 damage a second piercing nuke.
Is it over saturated? I feel like ive played maybe 4-5 games that i really like and not that many have great reviews whereas there are many genres where i just start from a top 100 best list
@@josiah6328I get your point but most genres have a larger span of variation within them. Most if not all survivorlikes seems to be quickly slapped together moneygrabs that want their piece of the cake. Because of this it feels like few tries to push the formula further
This is a really cool idea for the IP, although the concept of going on a dig with the express purpose of killing bugs is kind of against the spirit of Deep Rock Galactic. In the original game, all the missions revolve around getting resources out of the planet, or repairing/maintaining/operating/protecting machines that get resources out of the planet - essentially anything to further the goals of the corporation your Dwarf works for - and the bugs are an obstacle standing in the way of achieving that goal. A real dispassionate corporate-colonialist mindset, if you will. Now you're essentially hunting for sport, and acts of acquiring the various resources are literally called "side objectives." It's cute and has great potential, but I hope that the game objectives are changed to be a little more creative in future, at least to reflect the narrative core of the original game.
If you rock and stone, you're never alone!
Did I hear a rock and stone?
Yeah! Rock and Stone!
Rock and stone from the heart
Rock and stone forever!
ROOOOCK ....AAAANNNNNDDDD...... SSTTTTOOOOONNNNEEEEE!
I'm surprised at how naturally this game fits with the shift to the Survivor-like format.
ROCK AND STONE!!
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?!
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!
Rock… And… STOOOOONE!!
STONE AND ROCK! ....wait
Tom, the fat, slow, randomly moving slugs are loot piñatas called loot bugs.
Hopefully this means Tom might go back and play Deep Rock Galactic in the future. And also hopefully he checks out Rogue Core when it comes out.
Maybe a collab series with Ravs, since even a duo party is massively more useful than going solo.
FOR ROCK AND STONE!!!
Rock and stone!
ROCK! AND! STOOOONE!
Played the demo during NEXTfest, and was amazed at how much more I like this version compared to the standard. Immediate wishlist. And then Tom plays it, and my heart swells!
Love deep rock and surviours games, played the demo of this already and it was sick
Tom got some pretty good upgrades rolling in this one. Just a good balance of pew pew and with a splash of cryo for control.
What a good idea for a survivorlike
Very impressed with how this looks! Not only is it faithful to DRG but is also an interesting twist on the survivor-likes. Looking forward to the full release!
Watching this while playing the newest Vampire Survivors update
I'm glad Tom checked this out. I saw it in the Steam Next Fest, but didn't get around to playing it myself, then I went and checked to see if the demo was still available and it is.
18:13 It's Shai-Hulud! From Frank Herbert's Dune!
3:32 I think your mistaken Tom. NO DWARF LEFT BEHIND
The art style lends itself oddly well to a survivorlike.
I have been eagerly anticipating you to play this!
We need more of this! and more games like it! I think they suit Tom very well
4:41 the fact he almost got umanite right, despite having no clue wat hes talking about, nice.
For a demo, this is some excellent progress! I may have to buy this one after all!
4:40 You're thinking of magnetite, a naturally occurring iron-rich ore.
Welp thanks for introducing me to this game, just paused the video and sunk over 3 hours into it!
wow, this is the first time that I learned about a survivorlike before Tom, instead of learning about it from Tom. I was wondering when it'd show up on the channel
I'm so hype for this game. It's literally my two favorite games mashed together.
Wow, I NEEEED more of this!!
Rock Stone Brother, rock and stone in the heart.
this is the most fun Ive had in game demo in a long time, I look foward to release
2:43 "They Fly now?!"
If you don't Rock and Stone...
you ain't comin' home.
Thank you for the recommendation Tom it's been a lot of fun just chilling, digging and Surviving =D
Big great work with this run! Well played.
I played over 20 rougelike, bulletstorm, survivor demos in nextfest, this one was great and i wishlisted it 😊
Love deep rock galactic. This looks great
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1418
ROCK AND STONE

I will say though, having you not be able to Kill the Loot Bugs :D, best feature, they needed that
welcome green beard, ready to survive?
TOM! Please play more Lies of P. Perhaps even as an exclusive for members. I'd certainly sign up for that.
It's one of my favorite games and you're one of my favorite youtubers! ❤
I usually call the various ores Doritos, Cheetos, Mountain Dew and Arizona Tea; guess which ones are which
Fun fact for anyone struggling.... Reload speed, fire rate, and knockback are the god tier upgrades of this game
Hey! That intro music, isn't that the Mork Borg intro from Mystery Quest?
No its how the level starts. The demo is available on steam
Rock and stone, brothers and sisters!
Absolutely loved it!
Damn this looks so good
World of Horror released yesterday, are you going to play more of it? I really enjoyed your videos on it, 3 fricken years ago, I can't believe it's been that long!
3:50 not the only sufferer of greed on Hoxxes
its been wish listed ill check it out when it comes out.
ROCK AND STONE, BROTHERS!
Reminds me a bit of Soulstone Survivors which I wonder how did Tom not do a video on yet. I suspect he tried it and didn't like it.
This looks awesome
More soon i hope
Him not killing the loot bugs hurts me....
This video Rocks!
Gimmie an R! Gimmie an S! Gimme a Rock and Stone!
Love to see a green beard winning
Also worth mentioning that the demo did so well on the Steam Next Fest, that they extended the demo's availability all the way until October 30.
I can't seem to find it, you got a link?
ROCK AND STONE!
HEAVE HO, FOR ROCK AND STONE!

Finally!!!
Is this game on game pass? It looks awesome.
Prolly gonna buy this…..
Rock and stone
Deep Rock Galactic but fun!!!
oooohhh, magnamite!
Deep Rock Galactic is amazing, but this game uses none of the strengths of the original game apart from its assets.

Such a great game

MOOOOOAAAR!
GOLDEN LOOT BUG

A little later you get some great lightning synnergy options too, managed to melt waves instantly
The Survivor format is very oversaturated, but this looks like a clear standout in the genre.
Is it over saturated? I feel like ive played maybe 4-5 games that i really like and not that many have great reviews whereas there are many genres where i just start from a top 100 best list
@@josiah6328 Did you play Brotato? I can highly recommend it, it has an awesome amount of different weapons and characters with specific perks
@@josiah6328I get your point but most genres have a larger span of variation within them. Most if not all survivorlikes seems to be quickly slapped together moneygrabs that want their piece of the cake. Because of this it feels like few tries to push the formula further
FOR KARL!!
You know, legally speaking, it's more legal to rock than it is to stone.
Karl would approve of this 🍻
looks just as repetendium
I don't know if I can enjoy this game, there's a severe lack of killing Lootbugs.
We're rich!
If you don't rock and stone, you ain't goin' home!
I'm pretty sure this band called wind rose made a totally original song about dwarves digging holes?
Cashgrab
no leaflovers allowed
I love me some DRG, but as a deck builder? Not my cup of Dwarven Brew.

Deep Woke Survivor
Aaaahhhh deep rock galactic. It was fun but the devs have absolutely butchered the game over the years. Can't bring myself to support them anymore.
