  • Indian students in the U.S. are quitting part-time jobs to avoid deportation risks as Trump’s immigration policies tighten according to reports. Many students now depend on savings or financial help from family and friends back in India. For some, this stopgap solution is unsustainable. A computer science student in Texas revealed he has already exhausted his savings and is borrowing money from his roommate. With hefty student loans and rising mental health concerns, they now rely on savings and family support.

Then, all these students false stated in the VISA application. F1 is a single-intent visa. Working outside of school authorization is not allowed. The basic U.S. visa requirement is to have all tuition funds available. It is not meant to be used for earning money while studying.
The whole idea is to prevent competition with their domestic labor force, which benefits them. They have specific rules to limit who can compete in their labor market.
If an F1 student is caught working without authorization, they are subject to deportation.

Indian Implementation partners have taken over 90% of US IT implementations in the USA and colonized the entire workplaces denying the right of Americans to work. They follow strategy of interviewing job applicants by 5-7 level interviews or atleast 6 interviewers will be in the interview panel even for College undergraduates just to deny them jobs and get their relatives or people beloning to their caste/region back in India. And pushing american vendors out of clients, giving job opportunities to Indian prime vendors based out of India or hire low paid H4 spouses(they can work for $20/hr). They are taking advantage of every loophole in the immigration system. Based on immigration system, the clients/implementation partners should hire only highskilled H1B labor. But do QA/Testers/Business analysts require high skill?Big No. These jobs should be given to atleast Americans. But they are bringing people from India even for these jobs. It is a complete scam. Now most of the workplaces are colonized by Indian H1Bs denying entry of Americans.

@@Sanju_r2025 On-campus jobs are not guaranteed. Most of the time, they depend on a student’s skills and dedication, similar to a scholarship based on a professor’s recommendation. You make it sound like there aren’t enough on-campus jobs available. However, on-campus jobs are not part of the open job market; they are voluntary positions that sometimes offer payment.
These jobs were never intended to be available to everyone. By rule, F1 students must demonstrate that they are in the U.S. solely for study, as it is a single-intent visa, not for any other purpose. They are also required to secure funds for tuition and living expenses before entering the United States. They are not here to earn money for their expenses-that is very clear in the visa terms.
Working outside of authorized employment is considered fraud against immigration laws, labor laws, and tax regulations.

Either they are fired and no one is hiring them or decided not to persue permanent residency (Green Card) because that takes ages now a days. Or they were fired and coudn't find another job within the allotted time before their status became illegal and hence they are deciding to come back. Either way it is good for India.

There are jobs for deserved in India. People got a madness about masters in US. That was a time where F1 visa got converted to H1 easily. People still think that is the easy way to start. It’s not happening now because that many people are going to US for masters. Students who are not capable of studying in IIT, IIM are going to some cheap university to get their masters in US. Don’t cry after breaking your bank to study abroad. H1 is not easy. Many Indians rigged the H1 system. Misused H1 lottery system. It’s just a payback time.
