Hi chaps I had the same issue on my fiesta....I changed the thermostat and it rectified my fault...now I did notice that your temp on the gauge only goes up to quarter and stays there...if you set the time on the radio after you turn the ignition on and off does it go back to 9.00 also on a morning do you have lines on the stereo and if you leave it for several days does the battery drain on it...if yes to some of this or all of it you can also have a faulty dash which is a common issue if the car is driven daily you would be ok as battery is being maintained if left for a week battery may go flat.....but change the stat in it...the best way is to remove the inlet manifold but replace the gasket hope this helps....cheers

Cheers for that…will do thermostat next then…it’s the wife’s car and she’s learning to drive so it has been sat for best part of a week. I was using regular recently as my car needed a clutch so it’s been really reliable , I will leave it another couple days and see if batteries still good…thanks for the heads up

Thanks for video! I have to replace this sensor, have slight leak from that sensor and have to top up coolant every 3-4 weeks (drops from max to min level) I guess o-ring is parished 🤔. As for coolant boiling, first thing check at what tempetature your fan should kick in, then make sure your expansion coolant tank cap is OK (overpressure valve is not letting by air too early), cooling circuit must be sealed. Why? I have fiesta mk7, fan turns on 105C. I had broken expansion tank cap, so coolant started boiling at 100C, because pressure couldn't built up and it was boiling coolant like in your case. Changed cap (bought genuine ford one, for some reason seals better than other brands). Once changed cap, when temperature was aproaching 100C hoses started being hard (pressure was buiding up), at 105C hoses were really hard, but no boiling then fan kicked in. Higher pressure shifts boiling point, so if you have broken cap or for example small split in expansion tank pressure won't built up. Cheers buddy!

Any luck mate? My 2005 1.6 has the same issue. It doesn't "Overheat" but it boils over, even though it has a new cap and overflow. I bought one to teach the wife to drive a manual too haha.

Oh also there was a video by @sargeisdope5370 where they replaced the top plastic hose from behind the head to the overflow tank as it was clogged. Might be relevant?

I’m going to be honest I’ve just left it with the coolant temp sensor unplugged so fan is on constant and it hasn’t been an issue. I’ve been up to my eyeballs in egr faults on various cars recently. I should really look at the fiesta again but it’s the wife’s learner car so I haven’t had a “need” too

I had the same problem change sensor temp and everything will be fine, if not clean radiator and check if thermostat open

In the end I wired a manual switch to it and ran it into the car . I had changed temp sensor and it didn’t fix it. All relays were fine and fan came on when I ran 12v to it . I personally think I either had a dash cluster problem or ecu not commanding the fan to come on. Either way tan a switch and car was sweet. Till the wife decided she didn’t want to drive a manual anymore and made me sell it to get her an auto.

I've got exactly same car exactly same problem. Hoping someone can tell me what's wrong also as can't seem to find the issue!!

It’s one I’ve been struggling with to be honest too…all seems to test fine electrically but doesn’t work no matter what I tried…I’m thinking of changing the coolant header tank and cap for new because apparently if they don’t seal well system can’t get upto pressure so coolant boils sooner and ecm can’t get right signal to turn fan on…as soon as I figure out the issue I will do a follow up video

@@ahmedelsayed1351 I am 100% confident mine is not head gasket related but is a possibility on these little fiestas
