+Alfie Clark he was also ond of the coolest. But for example, Jericho was like realy tired and was like sleepy ( I know that it was because he was in a concert)
AJ seems sort of humble. He knows he's a good wrestler, but doesn't seem to think he's anything particularly special. Considering the era he is in, with it's plethora of amazing indie wrestlers I'm not too shocked at this. I mean A LOT of wrestlers right now are amazing wrestlers.
Samoa Joe mentioned that he joined WWE because after the indies you legend doesn't continue and you fade away and he wanted to go somewhere he could continue after retirement while training guys, so I feel with this interview and how negative he spoke about the business, which isn't his first time doing so, he's probably realizing he's on his way to retirement as well and being that he told his wife at 42 he'd be out he probably realized his best chances at ending a legendary career was now giving him 2yrs to cement his name
isaaclikesturtles to say that if there's 1 thing he would tell someone that wanted to enter the business is to have a back up plan and now 8 years later he won't even allow his kids to...that's a little more than unsweetened lecturing, that's a place of burned out
Thankfully I had dinner before someone mentioned the Hogan in a thong on the wrecking ball remark. The mental scarring will be there. #therapyneeded lol
Questions I saw asked in comments that would've been good... 5) Who did you idolize growing up... 4) How were Nakamura's kicks... 3)Where did the name AJ Styles come from... 2) If a promotion you work for wouldn't allow you to use the Styles Clash what finish would you like... 1) Since apparently they couldn't ask about wwe given the nature of the questioning...How do you plan a match against Japanese competitors, on the fly it would be difficult... All that were not asked, except we get a hangout video watching Hogan..guys, we don't have the luxury of questioning these competitors, it'd be nice to be taken serious
+Pat Galaxy The AJ part comes from his initials (Allen Jones). As for planning matches in Japan, a lot of Japanese wrestlers (most if i'm not correct) are trained in English.
+Trdef the Gamer weekday about styles and what about non English or even living there, a lot of good questions that could've lead to other good questions had they tried
instead of chosing the fans questions kenny went ahead and talked about hulk hogan in a thong for like 3 minutes?? now I understand why people hate kenny
Then get ready to Riot. I have no faith in WWE to Book anyone right. Undertaker Retirement? Not a chance. Seth Rollins Return? Nope. Finn Balor on the Main Roster? Best not to think about it. AJ Styles in WWE? Not likely.
It's the time for a massive changeover for WWE. Bullet Club, Nakamura etc could do the job much more than WWE could expect them to. They should let them be themselves and see the magic work! Yes, with the right storylines.
+TakerKaneanite619 Neither do I. Watching Attitude Era and Post Attitude Era shows makes me cringe how stale WWE is now, I just don't understand. They're failing in creating stars. The only good thing about the present is NXT.
This was an awesome interview. Seems like one of the most down to earth superstars not only in wrestling, but celebrities in general. And SO humble! The guys a millionaire and arguably the best wrestler on the planet yet he still seems like the kind of guy you could kick back and watch a game over some beers with. Definitely deserving of the success he's had
Awesome interview! Having met AJ Styles myself, he's a great humble guy. A really great guy all around. Been watching him wrestle since 2002 and I can't wait for him to come to WWE.
And one year later...AJ Styles is WWE Champion. He's #beatenupJohnCena, had awesome matches with Y2J, reformed the Bullet Club on McMahon owned canvas, made fun of TNA on WWE cameras (twice), and solidified a spot for himself in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Haroon Elmi Pfff that Vince going easy on him. 25v1 hell in a cell match featuring a triple flaming table drop from the top of the cell in which AJ lands on his necks and has someone hop over the barricade and stab him. But he still kicks out at two. Wait hold on..... that's John Cena? Yeah AJ loses
Totally agree love the analogy. It would be a shame to have ajs legacy tarnished by being eaten by Cena. Maybe AJ could be the new punk that cena couldn't beat. Or have a good back and forth rivalry
*Royal Rumble logo sneaks in* *Kenny:* "If we were putting on an event on WhatCulture on, like Sunday 24th January, would you be free to come and do a show with us?" *Styles:* (shrugs) "Sure." *Royal Rumble logo drops off* lerl
I love how quickly AJ said sure when Kenny asked if he was free the day of the RR. I'm not trying to say he's 100% coming to WWE because I only know what I've read about that, but kudos to him for trying to keep it somewhat quiet if he is.
I didn't really know much about AJ prior to this... I'm a huge fan after watching this interview... Genuine, and real. Like him saying he doesn't want his kids to grow up wrestling is such a real statement... A real person statement... I love it
He's going to the WWE. All the talk of making the money for his family and doing what he has to. I think it will be sooner rather than later as well with all of WWE's injuries.
+Epical Epiculus That could only really work if he got the push most of us wanted ziggler to get last year at survivor series but that didn't happen so now ziggler is just a midcard guy who wins one week then loses the next :/
what a story. Start of the year headlining Tokyo Dome and still making the round on the indies. 9 months later he's the champ and arguably the best in the world on the biggest platform.
If Styles/Rollins isn't the main event of WM33 and WWE don't have a damn good excuse, I'm gonna ... piss and moan on the internet and maybe cancel my network subscription.
+TO interesting because bryan who everyone says was an indy wrestler main evented wrestlemania. Rollins most believe will. Ambrose might he was an indy wrestler.
i worked (security) at the Newcastle arena for 5 star wrestling managed to meet the wrestlers (apart from rey mysterio) everyone was so down to earth john morrison especially. Even seen adam and kenny there just didn't get the chance to talk to them unfortunately
I can see that in the royal rumble, there will be a point where everyone is down and AJ and Samoa Joe will have a standoff in the middle of the ring...think about it, these 2 have had dozens of matches all around the world and have known each other for some 12 years. That would be a special moment.
I love AJ Styles and have done for all the years I've watched wrestling (I'm only 17) and to see this interview, where we see him out of a character which is something I've rarely seen, and where he is presented, rightly so, as one of the nicest people around. A genuine idol of mine, I'd love to meet him above almost anyone else around and I hope if he does sign with WWE I genuinely want them to treat him like the fucking star he is.
Agree with most of it outside of the sign TNA talent(because there is so much unused quality workers on the roster already ahem Stardust and Sandow to name 2, so my option instead of that would to be build back up the Tag Division. New Day are amazing but its also time for Big E to get a solo run imo so have him still be a New Day member but also pursuing the WWE title. Kofi and X can still tag, but some teams who aren't the boring as paint drying Usos need a push to compete with the New Day. Also Big Show needs to retire FOREVER.
his face when they ask, can you do something for WhatCulture on 24th of January, and he is like yeah ofcourse.. but he knows he cant because he has to go to the Royal Rumble. Good one AJ, good one
Daniel bryan said the exact same thing about the 'little things' on the first wrestling road diaries documentary, I recommend everyone watch it if you haven't :D
I didn't notice them ask any of our questions, in fact, I haven't noticed them do that with anybody they've interviewed.... anybody else notice that? PS AJ Styles is great, best interview you've done so far
Aj styles better win the wwe title and not get ruined like they do with former WWE/WCW wrestlers who went to TNA and came back: RVD, R-truth, Sting, the dudley boyz, christian.
Joshua Rehm I know that, you misinterpreted what i said I said former TNA wrestlers which meant they wrestled for TNA not that they are from TNA and most of them are actually from WCW
AJ Styles is one of the nicest guys that you have interviewed. He was so cool
+José Arias check out the rockstar spud interview if you havnt already. Wanted to give that guy a hug
+Alfie Clark he was also ond of the coolest. But for example, Jericho was like realy tired and was like sleepy ( I know that it was because he was in a concert)
+Alfie Clark Jericho and Angle were humble as well
Y2Jericho yeah angle was awesome
+Y2Jericho jericho was drunk as fuck
I loved the way he asked him if he is in the rumble or not LOL
+SportsUploader2kV3 Are you for real?
Who would spoil their own surprise?
When was that?
+Karim Mehdi 6:41
+SportsUploader2kV3 Yeah I think he did forget it
AJ seems sort of humble. He knows he's a good wrestler, but doesn't seem to think he's anything particularly special. Considering the era he is in, with it's plethora of amazing indie wrestlers I'm not too shocked at this. I mean A LOT of wrestlers right now are amazing wrestlers.
Amazing in terms of Technique, yes, but WWE Booking has Screwed Many wrestlers of a compelling character
+Pat Galaxy I mean u can't really sugar coat wrestling careers. they are pretty shitty unless u get lucky like HHH but I hear only the worst
isaaclikesturtles to say that if there's 1 thing he would tell someone that wanted to enter the business is to have a back up plan and now 8 years later he won't even allow his kids to...that's a little more than unsweetened lecturing, that's a place of burned out
+Lucan Stone (Your Black Protoman) nope
Never imagine Hulk Hogan on a wrecking ball in a thong
I am scarred for life
You watched that commercial too right?
Thankfully I had dinner before someone mentioned the Hogan in a thong on the wrecking ball remark. The mental scarring will be there. #therapyneeded lol
I never tried to tap out so fast to a video
You better think about it BROTHER!!!
solid interview! see you at the rumble AJ 😉
Sup element.
ElementGames dang shout out
What Culture: We need your questions...

What Culture: ...nah
Questions I saw asked in comments that would've been good...

I would riot if WWE doesn't book him in the right manner. He is absolute Gold!
we would riot and Adam will......do some very angry videos.
Then get ready to Riot. I have no faith in WWE to Book anyone right. Undertaker Retirement? Not a chance. Seth Rollins Return? Nope. Finn Balor on the Main Roster? Best not to think about it. AJ Styles in WWE? Not likely.

I will riot if they do, fucking homophobe doesn't deserve to work there.
Man I'd back an AJ Styles vs Finn Balòr dream match. But I wouldn't mind seeing AJ vs Seth Rollins.
AJ vs Seth that's gunna be awesome
+Dave2801epic Happened when Seth was on Indies or whatever
I doubt AJ is joining NXT,
+Matthew Boyd Yes you're right in 2006, but that was 10 years ago. Both have vastly improved since then so it could be a classic if done correctly
+thezbreer454 True.Seth was only 20 something then so this will be better
This was an awesome interview. Seems like one of the most down to earth superstars not only in wrestling, but celebrities in general. And SO humble! At this point I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't go to WWE, hopefully soon-ish.
He's signed lol
It's like 95% confirmed
+TurnaboutAdam Is this... a joke lol?
so you want him to be ruined? didnt know you hated him that bad lol
It's hard for they to ruin him when most of the roster are jobbers
6:33 don't play with my feeling AJ.
aj likes pressure? vince is gonna have fun booking him x)
Handicap matches lol
+Manny Diaz First man to get stabbed and thown through 9,000 tables wins in a 5 vs 1 match.
Garrythemod LOOOOL Good one.
and his name is JOHN CENA
AJ vs Rollins... what a Wrestle mania match that is
We all know AJ Styles is going to be a beast in WWE until Vince is ready to feed him to Cena.
We all know that Cena is getting excited to use his golden shovel against AJ Styles. Let's hope they never meet each other in the ring
Or even better. He faces and beats Cena
+Rammus yeah, like that's gonna happen. Vince doesn't like anything he didn't create to be a megastar. See: Sting getting buried by Triple H.
Totally agree love the analogy. It would be a shame to have ajs legacy tarnished by being eaten by Cena. Maybe AJ could be the new punk that cena couldn't beat. Or have a good back and forth rivalry
MVS studios Lolz true
What Culture is really growing, isn't it? Major props on the channel and your site. Thanks for all the great content!

Really clever way to ask the royal rumble question! 5 star interview!
"It's the little things" great guy
I have a feeling Krispen Wah us gonna return at royal Rumble, who do you think is gonna return at the Royal Rumble?
shelton benjamin
Chris Benoit
Hull Cogan
jiveturkey600
+ChaosDude Mr. America
one of the best interviews.. he's really humble being such a big star #respect AJ
I was fortunate enough to speak to him at the 5 star show in Sheffield, great guy and signed a picture for me too!
I didn't really know much about AJ prior to this... I'm a huge fan after watching this interview... Genuine, and real. Like him saying he doesn't want his kids to grow up wrestling is such a real statement... A real person statement... I love it
This guy seems like he is one of the chillest and coolest wrestlers around. I didn't know him before but he seems like a great guy.
So excited to see my favourite wrestler of the last decade in WWE!
You guys are standing next to a PHENOMENAL wrestler. A legend.... that may never see WWE hall of fame.
Best interview yet ... brother
He has always been one of the top workers in the world, but it's incredible how charismatic he has become over the years.
A.J. Styles is the man! Great interview guys! You asked my
(and many others') question, love it!
This interview was fun and engaging. AJ always seems like a really level headed, down to earth badass. Keep up the great videos!
He's going to the WWE. All the talk of making the money for his family and doing what he has to. I think it will be sooner rather than later as well with all of WWE's injuries.
Do How WWE Should Book The Balor Club/Bullet Club
Balor should stay alone
Bulletproof*
Carlos Parada *The Club
Seems like a really genuine guy, hope he does really well when/if he comes to WWE
he came across as a really nice guy, always nice to see
Can't wait for you guys to place your bets for the Rumble!! Adam vs. Adam!!
He is a stand up guy. So much respect to him.
this is why AJ is one of my favorite he seems real. in the sense of a guy that has a passion for the buisness
Great interview guys!
i think a ziggler vs styles storyline would be interesting... if they do it right
...Wait are you serious?
Jawson Maple ok maybe it would be better, if adam book it
+Epical Epiculus That could only really work if he got the push most of us wanted ziggler to get last year at survivor series but that didn't happen so now ziggler is just a midcard guy who wins one week then loses the next :/
Epical Epiculus | True dat.
One does not simply hire AJ Styles and make him fight Ziggler
The way he answers those questions about the WWE... He is on his way to the WWE.
Fans last night were chanting "Royal rumble" to AJ in Sheffield last night. He just glared at the crowd and smirked
I don't know why, but I still don't like Kenny.
I don't like Adam B idk why but Adam P is better
+nicolas silva 'Cause he has a sexy face, That's why
+nicolas silva He was pretty attentive and thoughtful during the interview. Just give him a chance.
It just isn't quite right when he's there
+nicolas silva Because this was advertised as Adam vs AJ Styles. Not 'Adam sits on the sidelines with Kenny vs AJ Styles'
Wherever he goes I'll always watch him.
nice to know AJ Styles seems like a pretty chill down to earth dude
what a story.
"Maybe"
Lmfao keep dreaming. Boring indy midgets won't main event Wrestlemania. They don't need an excuse. Nobody wants to watch that shit
+TO interesting because bryan who everyone says was an indy wrestler main evented wrestlemania. Rollins most believe will. Ambrose might he was an indy wrestler.
+TO "Boring". I take it you don't watch wrestling?
Abbie Sadler Not anymore. Boring champs like Punk and Bryan made me stop and Rollins kept me away.
i worked (security) at the Newcastle arena for 5 star wrestling managed to meet the wrestlers (apart from rey mysterio) everyone was so down to earth john morrison especially. Even seen adam and kenny there just didn't get the chance to talk to them unfortunately
That was an awesome interview. His personality is great.
styles has to be one of the best wrestlers of all time and by far one of the nicest you have interviewed
That end part watching the video was brilliant
underwhelming. Kenny is cool i guess, but, LET ADAM HANDLE THE INTERVIEWS!
#GiveReingsNoWaitKennyGivekennyAChance
Kenny predicted WCPW
I can see that in the royal rumble, there will be a point where everyone is down and AJ and Samoa Joe will have a standoff in the middle of the ring...think about it, these 2 have had dozens of matches all around the world and have known each other for some 12 years. That would be a special moment.
Give this man the title and send Boreman Lames back to the midcard
We are definitely seeing AJ on the network come January 24th. Entrant number 4 or 9.
Excellent interview
He makes his debut against Dolph like everyone else....the exent of creative
I love AJ Styles and have done for all the years I've watched wrestling (I'm only 17) and to see this interview, where we see him out of a character which is something I've rarely seen, and where he is presented, rightly so, as one of the nicest people around. A genuine idol of mine, I'd love to meet him above almost anyone else around and I hope if he does sign with WWE I genuinely want them to treat him like the fucking star he is.
I couldn't stop laughing a 6:46 when the royal rumble logo was coming up.
Great interview. He seems like a nice dude.
DUDE. AJ STYLES CARES SO MUCH ABOUT HIS FAMILY. IT'S SO CUTE💗
You know AJ Styles is an excellent worker...
...when he still performs well in the ring after watching Hulk Hogan in a thong.
I think you people Took AJ's innocence with the Hogan on a Wrecking Ball Video
Great interview,
Agree with most of it outside of the sign TNA talent(because there is so much unused quality workers on the roster already ahem Stardust and Sandow to name 2, so my option instead of that would to be build back up the Tag Division. such a down to earth guy stand up bloke and amazing wrestler!!
By the end of this century, AJ will be known as a wrestler in the top ten of the 2000's.
Someone needs to make a GIF of Aj's face when he sees the Hogan video
AJ STYLES ANSWERED MY QUESTION! WHATCULTURE NOTICED MY QUESTION AND AJ STYLES ANSWERED IT!!!!!! OH MY GOD I AM FANGIRLING SO DAMN HARD!!!!!
seems like a genuine guy
his face when they ask, can you do something for WhatCulture on 24th of January, and he is like yeah ofcourse.. but he knows he cant because he has to go to the Royal Rumble. Good one AJ, good one
Dude, AJ gives a fantastic interview!
I was thinking of Adam Cole and Kenny Omega vs AJ
I know it's been said but I was really impressed with how genuinely nice AJ Styles was. Not that I expected anything else, but it was refreshing.
What a fantastic guy
where do I find the link to that video with Hogan????
AJ's reaction to the Hogan video was priceless
Welcome too the WWE
Daniel bryan said the exact same thing about the 'little things' on the first wrestling road diaries documentary, I recommend everyone watch it if you haven't :D
AJ is such a great guy! I've gotten so close to meeting him but never actually did. I'm still hoping! He's always been one of my favorites!
AJ Styles is just the coolest! One of the best in the world today without question.
I didn't notice them ask any of our questions, in fact, I haven't noticed them do that with anybody they've interviewed.... anybody else notice that? PS AJ Styles is great, best interview you've done so far
Nice interview
6:43 AJ in the royal rumble confirmed
Imagine a rivalry between Balor and Styles......
the royal rumble graphic cracked me up looooooool
he seems like a genuinely good dude
I want AJ Styles vs. EC3
AJ is one of my favorite wrestlers and he seems like a super cool guy. I would love to meet him
"Royal Rumble match would you be THREE?"
"Sure!"
LOL
What is going on with the camera after halfway through this? hahaha
Great Video 👍
AJ Styles is just like Tom Cruise, he reminds me every time
Aj styles better win the wwe title and not get ruined like they do with former WWE/WCW wrestlers who went to TNA and came back: RVD, R-truth, Sting, the dudley boyz, christian.
+alca ponet Not one of those people you named are known as TNA wrestlers. Apart from Sting all of them wrestled for WWE/F before TNA.
+Joshua Rehm she thinks she know everything.
Joshua Rehm I know that, you misinterpreted what i said I said former TNA wrestlers which meant they wrestled for TNA not that they are from TNA and most of them are actually from WCW
Steve Harvey says the guy who can't tell miss colombia and miss Philippines apart
Yea right, give him the NXT belt. We don't need another midget Indy schmuck winning the world title.
YAY! They asked a question I posted on the previous video. (+)
His coolness makes him way more phenomenal
I haven't watched a single wwe show in almost seven years! but I will be watching the royal rumble to just maybe, maybe see AJ in there.
