God damn, Tyler......, this is phenomenal, both when it comes to tone and playing it is absolutely top notch. I have only heard very few that can match your timing, awesome tone, flow, and "cookin' ", and it would be Solodallas and Ryley Gallwey. Kudos. You are also of course a magnificent ambassador for Dr Dan, who really deserves that.
Little late to this thread but great playing.. yes this JTM50 transitional year is a bit warmer than the plexi.. and different to the JTM45.. but nails ACDC vibe.. I know they used various amps in studio vs live sometimes.. but mainly JTM45, JTM50, 1959 and even some 2203 for good measure at times.. but this JTM50 covers them all nicely.. would you say it has more gain that the JTM45? pickup sounds great btw.. T-Tops are great pups.. I discovered Vineham and put a set of 6070's in one of my old SG's.. sounds fantastic with clarity and drive.. but when it comes to vintage vibe amps.. which one to pick.. I usiually want enough gain in the amp to roll it back if necessary.. but some of these older amps just had more Mojo..ughh.. Dr Dan is a genius and makes them at playable volumes..
JTM50s run EL34s like the later JMP 50s, the early ones still have tube rectifiers like the older JTM45s but the later ones are solid state rectified. The JTM50s use a JTM45-type tone stack and a shared cathode as opposed to the JMP split cathode. This makes JTM50 amps less aggressive and less mid-rangey than the later JMP 50 circuits
@@rocknrollresignation93 Figured so as jtm50 is a very clean amp so you need the storm to push it but yeah I have a similar amp as well and with the storm it's so sweet!
Ryley Gallwey Thanks man! The settings were P 0 B 1.5 M 4 T 6 V 8. Was using the master on the back, was up about a third of the way. Pretty loud but not unbearable.
The Marshall JTM50" Black Flag" model was only available for bout 2 years in and around 1967. It was similar to a JTM45 except with EL34's instead of KT66's. The earlier ones had a tube rectifier then later changed to a SS rectifier. "Black Flag" was not an official model name. It's a nickname given referring to the gold letters depicting the "JTM" model inside black blocks stenciled on the faceplate. Usually, the model is stenciled with simple black letters.
That is the most "PERFECT" Marshall tone. Just the right amount of rasp, compression and warmth that stays all together
newbelowdc Thanks very much for the kind words. I love to build these amps!
MarkKiddGuitar Go to my website and email me. Thanks!
Man, that tone rips. Exactly what I am looking for. AC/DC with a little more gain. Thank you!
Needs more we needs more !

Yeah that's the tone right there. Greetings from the Solodallas team!
Sounds so good. Sheesh.
Dan is a nice guy and makes some great amps
Dude it's only a matter of days until I get mine, and I swear this video has helped to keep me sane while I wait.....
Ryley Gallwey Haha cheers man! I wish I had this amp years ago!
Dan Tramble, Master Creator....Amp creator that is!
I have the JTM50 by Dr Dan, now I need the Storm... :(
Jim Powers Get it! You won’t be disappointed!
Yes. It's a great unit.

bleufishtv Yes. Exactly

amazing tones
Hell yes dude.
👍🏽🔥👍🏽
Sounds awesome man.
Nice !
Great tone and playing ,...what kind of transformers are in this amp ?
How is the BLACK FLAG circuit, tubes etc... different from a ‘68 JMP 50 1987 Lead circuit?

Is the Storm in the signal path? Regardless, that's some harmonic heaviness heaven!
Blake Kobiska Yes I’m using the storm the whole time here. Thanks man, I love this amp!
Sounds Sweet! This just the amp or is a storm pedal on?
KyleSG88 thanks. The storm pedal was on during this whole demo.

This amp and the Storm are a match made in heaven!
@@rocknrollresignation93 Hell Yes!
@@rocknrollresignation93 what volume you running the amp at do you remember?
Were you using a pedal in that video?
😍👍👍
Gz34 or diode rectifier?
Dr. Dan Amplifiers?
Alexander Marques de Oliveira Solid State Rectifier
Man does that ever sound good... what were the settings like? Master on the back?
Ryley Gallwey Thanks man! The settings were P 0 B 1.5 M 4 T 6 V 8. Was using the master on the back, was up about a third of the way. Pretty loud but not unbearable.
You say it’s different than a super lead, so is this the Bass or PA version inside?
It's closer to a bass circuit but probably has a bright cap on the channel 1 vol.
what model/year is the Marshall cabinet ?
It’s a fairly recent 1960AX with the stock greenbacks
What do you mean by Black Flag Replica? Sorry I'm easily confused but wanna know lol.
