What measurement could be distorted? There is no spread or tip to tip measurement, just length of horn, base, 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 circumference measurements on each horn. It isn't like a moose or elk that has a spread credit.
@@Drewmack22 he shot in head....a rams horn will break before it flys off...bouncing horns off happens when they rot off core...this is done by putting horns in garbage bag in warm room...for 2 weeks...then boil skull and cores..other wise worms will bore thru horns..taxidermist knows how to do this
I don't understand. I am a meat eater. I could understand catching food for sustenance. What is the point of killing something (besides with your bare hands) for sport because it is badass? Have you seen these animals battle. I was all state in football. It's like the Oklahoma drill in gladiator times. In fishing you always release the big bucks to make more. No hate, but it seems like a little mans game
what a day of emotions....to kill a giant then see that horn fly off....awesome ram...congrats...
Nice job Ray
I remember hearing about that ram. Great film!
Incredible animal, great shot. Thanks for sharing.
Awsome 💪💪
Wonderful!!
That’s one hell of a ram and great shot! What cartridge did he use? Was this Wheeler Peak area or Pecos Wilderness?
I got fooled into believing this was a archery film as soon as the " back country predator" logo popped up. Nice catch
Was his right horn broken off ?
Big old ram congratulations
Going to need a really good taxidermist for the repair. Great ram.
how can it be officially scored with a broken horn ?
had to shatter skull....agree it cant be scored as official record

When’s this years elk hunt dropping 😎
Know where your gun shoots,(back of the head), practice different angles and elevations
The horn jumped off
😀😀😀 😁😁😁😃😃😃
one of his horns broke?
Yeah, you could see it knocked off during the ram's long tumble.
No they come off normally after they sit for a while dead but it’s still the same they just pop off
@@slammysammy2217 no it popped off while tumbling down the hill

I think the bullet may have gone through the head or neck and damaged the horn.
Let's be honest though, most species don't get that big in NM.
Nice 🏆though.
Musta been on private land or an Indian Reservation. Not many heads like that on public land anymore.
Public land draw hunt!
Think Wheeler Peak and Pecos Wilderness areas…
