Great tutorial. Now that our school uses online teaching because of Covid, your vlog has been very useful for me. Thanks a lot and I will always watch and learn your featured lesson here.
One thing I've found is to wear contrasting colors that aren't in the background. That way the software doesn't get confused. It's like when the weather person on the news wears green and you can see right through them.
I had no idea there was such an option when we had to suddenly start using Zoom at home. I was so stressed about my house not being clean enough. But I learned to aim it at a decorated wall.
I recorded myself with my webcam, and keep looking at my laptop until around 5 minutes. Then I use that video as my virtual background. Now I could go anywhere as long as my video keep playing.
Thank you. It's really helpful...I am using zoom first time for my abroad admission interview. Is it okay to use earphone or headphone for better listening?
Virtual backgrounds are just a nice added touch and not essential but if you are desperate and have a weak computer then you can either buy a green screen (they are quite cheap, especially compared with buying a new PC, or simply make your background as one coloured as possible. Some folks hang a single coloured bedsheet, others have a single coloured wall behind them and the results are good for static image backgrounds.
The virtual backgrounds even the still ones just any tiny movement blurs the video images which I really suck. they need to improve this as it is impossible to not move a little. I been using it without the virtual backgrounds. I like them but when it was fading images in and out I just went back to regular settings.
I like to have a 10 second video of myself watching the screen (moving just a little with the shirt I plan to wear that day). This way I can duck out of a meeting to use the john or get a drink (or take a nap!). As a financial advisor I really like a video I found on RUclips with slow moving financial charts behind me- just like the news channels! I also love the matrix falling letters. Search for news chroma background (so you can look like a pro!
Thank you for the excellent video I have a question I’ve tried to install a virtual on my iPad no menu option for video, only image. I tried to install a virtual video on my PC laptop which is windows 10 and the option add image or video is not shown what does this mean? Update: iPad Air 2 does not support virtual backgrounds
I followed you step by step on my laptop, but it didn't work on my iPad. But I'm very happy to have the virtual background on my laptop! I am having a girls happy hour tonight so I did a video. :)
My favorite virtual backgrounds are nature, Fiction, Disney, Nickelodeon and American holidays. I created a 📁 for them as ideal options for virtual backgrounds. I can’t wait to use them sometime.
@@FlippedClassroomTutorials Thanks! For therapy with my friend, I usually choose relaxing backgrounds which happen to include: The Great Lake from Harry Potter, The Forbidden Forest from Harry Potter, Forest scene from Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty, Magical Tearoom from ASMR, Japanese Tea Garden located in The City by the Bay, etc. Sometimes, I feel comfortable using underwater backgrounds or the Gryffindor background for my Cafe Quarantine meetings. Who knows? I also use them from my practice rounds, so I'm not too nervous about singing in front of my friends now that I have a Logi 720p webcam that my dad installed on top of my 23 inch Dell monitor.
Will I need to do this for every meeting or is there a way to have the settings saved? Thank you for taking the time to make this very helpful tutorial.
Thank you for making this Tutorial, helped immediately! Where could I get the gently waving palm tress and ocean you had in your background please? Thanks again. Cheers Ellie.
Thank you so much. The explantion was quite clear and crisp. I want to create a virtual presentation where I want to show sometimes I explaining something, sometimes videos from my laptop or sometimes Google slides with my narration. Can you help me in how to do all in one video
Thank you for that excellent presentation. Straight to the point (no time wasting with unnecessary or interspersed verbal waffling); you delivered what you promised (and promoted during your introduction) and it was a masterclass in nailing all the points someone interested in the subject needed to know or would want to know - packaged in the perfectly appropriate timeframe. I was delighted to hit ‘SUBSCRIBE’.
This was fantastic, just what i wanted. Your explanation was easy and simple to follow for non techy folk like me! and i like the website you showed too (pexels.com) I will surely be experimenting with this So thank you for your upload it was very useful.
I’m on an iPad and 1. The cogwheel (gear wheel in the US) is at the bottom left, not the top-right. 2. When I click on the cogwheel there is absolutely NO option for “Virtual Background”. This has been frustrating me for weeks. I contacted Zoom support but they haven’t replied except to send me an email that they received my support request. This, on top of all the security issues Zoom has, has contributed to my decision not to use it.
An excellent tutorial of how to use virtual backgrounds. But IMHO you do need to mention 1) the rather severe limitations the users computing device has on the performance. Both that Zoom can detect extreme incompatibility, but even when the options are enabled, a good video-chip performance massively helps. And 2) that it generally only works for 1 person so if 2 or more are in the webcam view, only 1 will typically be seen.
I added a video I took on my phone but when I load it into zoom it is rotated 90 degrees. Even when I rotate the video by 90 degrees in my phone before uploading it into zoom it still automatically adjusts it. Thoughts?
Hello. I'm using a HP Pavilion Notebook, I5, and meets all the system requirements, Virtual backgrounds is on and working. Zoom is fully up to date. But I'm still getting a message saying "your computer does not support etc". Amy ideas what to try next please? Thank you.
For some reason it wont let me edit the background just enable it by just clicking on the dot but it dont do anything in windows 10 PC's internet log on
My labtop can not use this feature .When add virtual backgound it shows that “Computer doesn’t meet requirment: Your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements to use this feature with out a green screenbackground” . How can I fix this problem, I don’t have green screen. Thank you.
Same issue here. My PC cannot use this feature .I am unable to deselect "I have a green screen option". Does this mean I MUST use a physical green background before I can select virtual backgrounds? Error msg :- “Computer doesn’t meet reqnt. Your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements to use this feature with out a green screen background”.I tried using the standard virtual backgrounds but the pix is pixelated.
Not entirely sure why it would say that your "Computer doesn't meet requirement", but would imagine that it has something to do with the specs of your webcam. So if you are using the laptop's internal cam, it might be worth a try to get a reasonable quality external webcam. I am using a four year old Logitech C920 cam on a Windows 7 PC from 2013 with no problems. Alternatively, you can get a large piece of green fabric that will serve as a greenscreen when you hang it on the wall behind you. Just make sure that the fabric itself is not 'shiny'. Plain green cotton will be best. Good luck! Hope you can get this to work.
Thanks a lot! I find your videos so simple and easy to apply. I downloaded several great backgrounds but the back of my head is wobbly and distorted. How do I resolve this?
Very helpful. Glad to know green screen is not totally essential for virtual backgrounds. Think I will use a white screen called a wall!
haha
Really excellent. Looked all over for how to do this and your video was so clear and easy to follow. Thanks.
Very Helpful. Instruction is clear, concise and slow enough that a ZOOM novice (like me) is able to follow along, take notes and absorb.
This is more understandable than what I have known before. Thank you.
Followed your instructions! YES, I CAN! Happy Camper here! Thank you! Love the video.
Thank you very much. Very usefull. I'm waiting for "how to use webinar in zoom" Thank you

You're welcome. Hopefully the videos will help
Can not wait for your green screen tutorial.
Thanks I will use it with " the office" background
Suresh is this possible???
citystar2318 There's a great one that looks like the interview room on "The Office"; just search for an image of "the office set"
I can't wait to do this during the meeting tomorrow! Thank you for sharing, very helpful!

Thank you so much. Very informative. I did exactly as you said and it worked like a dream.
Just wanted to say I have a Mac and did a reinstall of zoom and can now use virtual backgrounds! Hooray! Kids treated to Minecraft background!
That's brilliant! Thank you for keeping us updated on your solution! Can't wait to see that Minecraft themed lesson!
Does it mean I need more Internet consuming while using video virtual backgrounds instead of just images?
thank you....
Thank you. It's really helpful...I am using zoom first time for my abroad admission interview. Is it okay to use earphone or headphone for better listening?
Absolutely. In general whenever using video conferencing, earphone and headsets are recommended to avoid feedback.
Thanks for making this video, it really helped!

I have it with both the free one and now the paid one. Have you updated you program to the latest version?

Maybe you have the green screen box checked...
Just allow it and it starts working
you can download the virtual background package (it's free!) and you can use it without a green screen :)
SANJAY PAREEEK you have to have an i7 or greater processor for it to work without a green screen
