You know, one of the reasons I watch OctoEast videos so much is that I like watching the players perform. There's nothing pretentious or egotistical about them. There's no glamour, just a welcome sense of integrity which translates into beautiful music. This is one of the best I've heard.
I am in love with this music. I am European and three years ago I began to listen and be fascinated by the music of Southeast Asia. I would like to be able to talk about Chinese culture but I don't have the knowledge to comment on this. But the people I know of Chinese origin seem to me to be very noble, honest, hard-working and never superficial and false.
Speaking of music, I am surprised by the beautiful melodies made from the soul with musical scales very different from Western harmonies.
I am a musician and I have dared to compose a song with the sounds of Chinese instruments (with great respect) and surely due to the lack of knowledge of Oriental culture I have many things to improve and so I will continue working on it. When I'm composing (from the deepest modesty) I feel like I'm moving into a happy world.
I want to congratulate this beautiful interpretation that I will listen to over and over again. Congratulations!!!❤🙏

I agree. It's absolutely superb.
演奏的效果好像超过了大的民乐团。每一件乐器的水准高，更重要的是配合的恰到好处。另外要提的是演奏者的平和态度，更让音乐凸显出来，而不是靠绚丽的舞台效果。
這是一個很棒的組合。
就目前 youtube 上看得到的所有"雨碎江南"演奏之中，在二胡、笛部分，大概要超越這組合的也不容易。
别的乐器不说，笛部分，云声还是最好的，目前无人超越，

就二胡来说，我更喜欢柠露版的雨碎江南，不过这个也很棒了！个人口味不同而已。

Wonderful to listen to this traditional instruments, I really don't like the other versions with western influences pianos are mostly to dominant.
Every time i listen to these music i feel myself into those enchanted forest...it really touch.....love from imphal

Just beautiful. I like the sound of the erhu a lot. All the instruments come together and the piece is so calming yet wistful, it brings tears.
i love the sound of the instrument the lady played by hitting with the two sticks. Don't even know what it's called. It makes that pitter patter sound of the rain that's actually very nice with the whole song. Although the original doesn't include this, I think this version is strong with it. My ears been transported into heaven!!
it's called the yangqin 扬琴 :)
You would enjoy the movie, "Our Shining Days" (2017). Lots of yangqin and other chinese instruments.
in the west we have a similar instrument called hammered dulcimer.

Can anyone please specify me the difference between the 2 flute in 1:53 and 3:08 ?....
That 3:08 flute is obviously on higher octave and it was supposedly for climax parts as rendered.
