Getting the ATIS for your destination is a good idea in terms of being ahead of the aircraft. We have one flight at our airline which is about 20min flight time, which feels like your teleporting if your flying a Q400, and we prepare as much possible on the ground before departure to give ourself enough time and not rush anything on arrival (program your arrival for expected runway, partly calculate landing performance, do a preliminary briefing etc.) You never want to become a passenger on your own plane.
Edgar Burtnieks Super advise man. Thank you and please keep the advise coming, I’m absolving other pilots experience as much as possible.
Flyers District thats the spirit, I’ve flown airline now for a year, and I’m still learning tons on every flight, and every recurrent simulator session, they can only teach so you much at flight school, the rest is experience. One piece of advice for you regarding radio calls- ATC hates long transmissions, especially in busy airspace, try to stick to standard phraseology as much as possible, and use as few words as possible. Try to create yourself a structure to keep it clear and concise- “Ground, good day NOVEMBERXXXXX, information ‘INDIA’ PA28 request clearance to...../ ground NXXXXXX request taxy... etc” when they tell you ‘cleared for the option RWY XX, after touch and go left/right traffic report midfield downwind’ you can reply ‘cleared for the option, left traffic, wilco midfield’ in other words keep it standard and ATC and other guys in larger/busier airspace will appreciate you not blocking the freq for too long. Otherwise good airmanship, youre trying to project the coming events, which runway, pattern entry etc. Very nicely made video as always.
I once had to ferry a C-141 from RAF Lakenheath (EGUN) to RAF Mildenhal (EGUL). Lakenheath is about 5 miles north of Mildenhal. The winds were light and variable. I requested a west departure out of Lakenheath and a landing to the East at Mildenhal. I called the tower on the phone to arrange landing clearance at EGUL before takeoff clearance would be accepted at EGUN. We took off, never retracted gear or flaps, flew west about 4 miles, turned left and made a left base to EGUL. The hardest part was running the "after takeoff climb", "descent", "approach", and "before landing checklist" by the time we were 3 miles on final. Flight time was 0.1hrs or 6 minutes. My second shortest, not including a VFR traffic pattern in a single, was a B-727 from KMIA to KFLL, about 12 minutes. Short flights get busy.
Love your videos... they have a true sense of reality. Don’t stop!
Thank you. That's a nice comment, can you tell me what you mean by that? It will help me make better videos.
Hey, Alex, thank you for the video. Do you know any flight instructor with Cessna around FLL area? Looking for myself
Made that short trip many times. I made a radio call the other day too and messed it up completely after I’ve done it 100 times. Stop by and see us at KPMP soon.
Laurie Lindsey where at pmp? You know I’m always looking for a reason to fly
Flyers District Dare to Dream Aviation. I’m flying their Diamond. Come pick me up! 😊
., i think drone flight 😊
Hello,
What GPS system you using? I can see, that it's showing you air traffic near to you.
supiiik it’s called ForeFlight.
Nice vid! Nice to see you are also human and can fumble the calls to tower. Keep these vids coming.
Marc Cretten 👍
The pup is living her best life,
Me the entire video: “tAN LiNdAaaAAaaa”
I love your dog on this ride.
Michael Stern she’s awesome
I mean by flying ofcourse
Thanks for sharing, Alex!
Great video! I'm planning that exact same flight for tomorrow so very informative. Thanks for posting!
cool - have fun and be safe :)
Why is the side door not closed for so long? Also is the dog belted in in some way?
This is the most asked question Joseph. When I'm on the ground in the middle of the day, the airplane gets very hot, so I always taxi with the door open to let the air flow. Nina has a strap so she can't come to the front seat.
@@FlyersDistrict cool.... that all makes sense.
Is there a way to get a replacement latch for the waterproof housing for the gopro on the first splash drone? I have tried a few different latches and the top of the case where the metal goes on is too thick from top to bottom to use any of the latches I have tried it wont let it close down to lock it
GAproductions call Urban Drones - the phone is listed on the website👍
Hey man! Great video! Are you latino?
Guasmo Norte I’m from🌍 😁 an area called 🇩🇴 Dominican Republic
That’s cool! I’m from 🇪🇨 Ecuador. I’ve been in Punta Cana, beautiful beaches!
Alex I live close to and I am a young pilot we should meet up for breakfest one day
MEGAHEART PRODUCTIONS let’s do it. My email is at the bottom of the description
his landing are quite rough but he'll get better with practice
Mark F. A ‘rough’ landing is not an indication of a bad landing - as long as its on touchdown zone, centerline with the correct speed its a good landing. Floating to make a ‘kiss’ landing is wrong.
@@LinkinLoris not saying it was a bad landing just that he needs lots of practice. With time he will be able to do it.
Mark F. You didn’t say it was bad, you said it was ‘rough’, which is not a criteria you judge a good landing on (unless it’s a hard landing with over 1.7G) You can practice all you want, you will never get 100% of your touchdowns perfect (it will depend on your weight, speed, air pressure density, temperature, runway conditions etc.), the main things are correct speed, glideslope, centerline and within touchdown zone, a nice stable approach is key to a good landing.
@@LinkinLoris he has a lot of work to do to even get 2% of his landings correct...he is still a new pilot
Mark F. I’m really curious as to what you are basing your assessment on, you can’t see the ASI, VSI, nor PAPIs, or anything that would help you gauge how exactly it went approach-wise. And the touchdowns looked decent. Just because your new, it doesn’t automatically mean the landings will suck, of course you perfect it before you start IR training- that’s why you have hour building, so that flying a stabilized approach becomes 2nd nature, but none of the landings on here showed any sign of a crappy landing.
Awesome. 10....😃
ED E. Thanks
Do dogs ears hurt with sound of the plane, do they need earmuffs.
It's loud, but it doesn't hurt her.
I bought a pair of special dog earmuffs for my dog. He finds them annoying and pushes them off. We don’t use them anymore, and the dog is happier. :-)
@@avshiloh2438 Thanks my wife was concerned with taking our dog on flights. We will just have in him the plane to see if he likes it.
@@FlyersDistrict OK thank you for the response, love the videos keep them coming.
Right on man, great trip is a safe trip... Keep em coming bro..
Wow thats intense. I dont think i could ever fly a real airplane. Haha your good at what you do
worthlessdays * thanks!
