That was a large place and looked to be in good shape! I would definitely get myself lost and forget where I came in! A great explore and pictures! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Nice explore! Hope this place gets reused, not just left to be vandalised and rot. Sending you Best Wishes for Christmas from Australia.x Thankyou & Cheers!
@@alantippett7602 there are three tower blocks in north Lanarkshire that were due for demolition they have now been fully renovated and guess who is going in the young men / soldiers that come in on boats
Lifespan 56 years ! The frontage looks newish, must have been added when the hotel was extended. It used to be the place to go, as it was on the outskirts of town, and had plenty parking - and that was before the days of drink/driving restrictions.
King Malcolm in dunfermline, used to be a very nice place for locals to have a meal and a drink. The hotel was nice too. Was very popular and used every summer for coach parties of foreign tourists especially German. The place closed when covid struck and never reopened. What a waste.
Worked here for years, sad to see it In this state, place used to be buzzing with life, but it was always going to goo the way due to the fact that the land was leased, only the hotel was owned, so it was always going to be difficult to turn a decent profit, shame
Just thinking - it looks as though it made a mistake in transforming itself from being a venue with some rooms into being a motel, and then got caught up in a general downturn in business.
Hi Alec , said it before , jeez what a waste, cool explore/ location ,wonder how long it will stay in that condition , have a good week , merry Christmas from New Zealand 👍😎
Wonder why this is abandoned. Looks recent too. Damn those doors made some creepy, creaky noises. One room looked like maybe a squatter had been there. Great explore Alec. Cheers!
Was built in the seventies, it was hard for the hotel to turn a profit due to the land the hotel sat on being leased and it costing around 200k a year to lease the land the hotel sat on
The King Malcolm was built on the edge of a large Wimpy Estate, mid 60’s. It closed when one of the hotel chains that did bus tours went bust. It had a super bar, plenty weddings, funerals were held there. The Scottish Gas company used it for regular meetings. They were there a few months ago fixing up fences. Total waste. The Waverley in Melrose, one of the same chain was bought over. As usual, nothing supported in Dunfermline.
Cheers again! This is the 3rd hotel explore I've seen in a row, thanks again. I found the property un-exciting and I fucking hate hotel kitchens seeing as I work in one now. It was still interesting to see wut there was to see!
whoever owns the land this hotel stands on will probably sit and wait until some other enterprising people set up another business on the same site losing absolutely nothing from the demise of this hotel business, feudal Scotland
If that's the King Malcolm in Dunfermline, I stayed there, it had great rooms and very lively atmosphere. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO STAY THERE. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
Too bad it cant be refurbished and used for housing. There's room for employment services, perhaps even for out patient mental health service. You could have senior housing/care there's even a kitchen. Id add perhaps allotments for gardening, space for community activities. What a waste!
Hi Alec!! that is fine, honey? very hot afternoon here in Brazil and I'm on vacation watching exploring with alec!! Great!! I love your explorations!! Kisses great afternoon for you!!
The area it is in is not too bad to be fair. I would like to see the building used for something that benefits people and not just knocked down for houses.
It won't be a hotel again, itl be demolished, due to the fact that the land that the hotel sit on doesn't belong to the owner of the hotel, the land is leased

For your information they did not break in the door was already open if you look at the description of the video it clearly states they found an opening which means it wasn’t secured that means they didn’t break in
Please tell me how he broke in he clearly walked through a open door and trust me Alec never breaks into places he’s one of the best explorers out there

Used to walk through that car park ever morning on my way to school and when older had some great nights in the bar to the left of the conservatory.
Nice explore! Hope this place gets reused, not just left to be vandalised and rot. Sending you Best Wishes for Christmas from Australia.x
Thankyou & Cheers!
I had a guided tour a few days before it was opened by the late Queen. It was the best place in town for many years.
That will be getting given to serco to house 100s of refugees
Your bang on .
Correct.
Probably not.
It's to run down for the illegals
I thought wee Jimmy Cranky wasn't allowing immigrants....

It’s been around for ages I live near it it shut down in Covid used to be the best hotel I could go pop in for a wee nose when I was out with my pals
I know exactly where this hotel is, I couldn’t believe it when it closed down.
Good that you got a good look before it inevitably gets trashed as these places usually do.

Great explore as always Alec.
I didn't even know this hotel had closed. I've driven past many times, but not for a while.
The old King Malcolm hotel on Queensferry Road in Dunfermline, Fife.
Hi Alec , said it before , jeez what a waste, cool explore/ location ,wonder how long it will stay in that condition , have a good week , merry Christmas from New Zealand 👍😎
Ah the good old king malcolm hotel, spent many a night/day in that pub
great video what was the name of the hotel if you are able to tell me
Gorgeous hotel Great Explore 😊pitty it wasn't kept up but agreed
Too expensive but for flats would be great
The should put homeless people there and give them three meals a day plus spending money that would be good
I live near the king Malcom
Can’t believe I’m sitting watching you 2 creepy buggers

Not the same chain, the hotel is owned by peel hotels

Is that the King Malcolm in Dunfermline?? Used to walk through the car park to school everyday, so strange seeing it like this. Very cool!
If that's the King Malcolm in Dunfermline, I stayed there, it had great rooms and very lively atmosphere. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO STAY THERE. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
Definitely looks like it
Great video Alec Thankyou
Some of the Hyundai people stayed in that hotel I delivered hire cars to them
So cool!!!!
I worked there in the 90s. It looks better now than it did then..........
For sale?
Dont suppose you came across ma Grannies purse - she dropped it when she was runnin from the Covid and was too feart to go back
Looked at Google maps and looks like it's been further boarded up since. Hope someone didn't get in and smash the place up. Anyway great vid Alec.
What hotel is it?
Too bad it cant be refurbished and used for housing. There's room for employment services, perhaps even for out patient mental health service. You could have senior housing/care there's even a kitchen. Id add perhaps allotments for gardening, space for community activities. What a waste!
Belíssimo vídeo amigos 🇧🇷🇧🇷🥰🥰👏👏❤❤❤❤
looks in fairly good nick. Can this not be used to house the homeless?
Hi Alec!! that is fine, honey? very hot afternoon here in Brazil and I'm on vacation watching exploring with alec!! Great!! I love your explorations!! Kisses great afternoon for you!!
Stayed here once a few years ago
What year did it close
Back around the time of COVID. It's a shame to be honest.
After lockdowns
what a waste, this should be made into something, surely a hotel chain could develop this, unless it is an area too far off the beaten track
The area it is in is not too bad to be fair. I would like to see the building used for something that benefits people and not just knocked down for houses.
That back pack looks very interesting and heavy
Big lov n hug's to you all 🙌✨🌷🌼💙

Odd that the lights are still on ( emergency lights)
Dumbuck hotel in Dumbarton that's empty and deserted aswell
Well Profile Security Ltd certainly fucked up on that day given their signs adorn the place.
👍😉
that place is in ok condition eh.?
Doesn't look like it's been abandoned for to long let's hope that one day it will be a hotel again
Closed after the lockdowns
It won't be a hotel again, itl be demolished, due to the fact that the land that the hotel sit on doesn't belong to the owner of the hotel, the land is leased
Merry Christmas to you
Parabéns um belo vídeo um forte abraço 🥰❤❤❤🇧🇷👍
This hotel is minted Alex well done again 😊
I've actually stayed here

doubtful that got demo'd 2 year ago
It isn’t the Treetops
It's not
No doubt it will get filled with all the illegal immigrants
Immigrants will be in there by now .
And whats the problem with housing refugees ffs
You are breaking into a property. Hopefully you will be prosecuted.

With a bit of luck it'll get bulldozed. Been empty for a while and is outdated. Locals want it gone.
