I was surprised when I saw some of the tartans in this old Manor home. In one wardrobe I saw a tie just like I own. Also many books were about the Isle of Skye. Then in one of the pictures of this old gent I saw someone I knew, who was Chief John MacLeod of Dunvegan Castle, Skye. My MacLeod family migrated to North Carolina in 1772 from Skye. I'm sure this gentleman was closely related to Chief John's family. They probably have holdings in London which is a more exciting place to live. Tim King. Phoenix, AZ.

This just made me feel really sad. You literally can’t believe no descendants from the family are involved. If the inhabitants went into a nursing home or something the only thing I can think of is the family had had a falling out and were estranged from their kids. It is something that bugs me that it’s so hard to answer these questions. Sure, the kids may have got their own lives moved far away. Then maybe THEY died in a tragic accident or just from illness. If they are all still alive and they DIDNT have a family falling out, then maybe yea, they’re just too far away. But it still really does not make sense.
Maybe there were no offspring, or interested remnant relatives. Govt agency wi end up tipping much, obvious worthy items to auction for ¿? pocket benefit.
Well I was just a wee boy at the time (don't spread this) I was told that there was a great murder in the house and the person or persons were in authority because of madness...me Mum and grandmum told me that
I considered the estrangement as well. It does seem authorities would contact next of kin in a situation of death though, but perhaps they don't search if there is no forwarding known address.
if the owner went into a nursing home, the property would be sold to pay for his care. Families don't just vanish so there must be some reason for this property to have been left behind. The house and contents could have been sold.
Wow, absolutely in love with the place, inside and out, all that history and the surroundings, imagine being so lucky to have been once living in such a beautiful place , would love a couple nights there, even in the condition it now lays, did a search on the name of the man in the painting , came up with a sir John Macleod 1st Baronet 1857-1934 ,scottish MP for the unionist party ,for Glasgow, son of Rev Norman Macleod , wonder if same ? I'm so impressed at all those Secretary Desks! Those are the ones that open to make a writing desk. Also so many rooms were necessary because foe every person there was a servant. They get the lesser rooms, mostly upstairs. They had to be separated males in one part, females in the other. The sitting rooms are amazing! Thanks guys!
How beautiful the house is. The location is to die for. The snow you guys had to manoeuvre through! You go to places I will never be able to, it is so lovely to experience it all. Thank you 😊❤️
Sam and Jess, I am new to watching these explore videos "about 3 months now." The 2 of you, along with Dave and Mark from AWE and Adam Mark you all are AMAZING people!! You guys and Jess are so enthusiastic about what you do, you all have so much passion, care, love and more importantly RESPECT for the properties and the family's of each property that it truly tells us what WONDERFUL PEOPLE you are. Thank you for taking all of us on these great explores and showing me these beautiful places that I would NEVER get to see if not for all of you. PLEASE keep being real and doing the awesome explores that you do. DO NOT pay attention to all the negative, disrespectful people that have nothing good to say on their comments, they should just keep them to them selves. This was an ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFUL property, THANK YOU for sharing. Much love to you ALL.. PLEASE STAY SAFE!! From Oregon USA 🇺🇸 😊💞 To all the negative cruel people, this ABANDONED HOME DID have dust, tons of cobwebs and sure looked like the closests had A LOT of clothes in them, so I'm not sure what video you all are watching. 🤔🙄 Take another look see... 🤓😳😊
You can see the old parts of the house and the newer add ones. My aunt and uncle added rooms and fireplaces to their house for decades! Y’all are wonderful to watch so respectful of others and their lives. You two give me hope for the youth of this world! Wonderful find enjoyed it much. Cheers from Sugarland Texas ❤️🇺🇸🇬🇧
That was awesome, just came across your channel so looking forward to bingeing! I actually inherited the exact same binoculars shown at 9:50! All the best.
Fantastic coverage, thank you for respecting the place and the past owners. I can't get my head around how descendants, friends, neighbors, government departments...WHOEVER, allow houses with insane about of history and valuables, are just left!!!!!!! It seems so disrespectful to the past occupiers that a home is now a slowly decaying shell.
I’m new here and I love how you put your videos together. Can’t wait to see more. I have to say, I love how Jess will put things right. I’m the same way, I can’t walk past something that is offset. Love your respect as well. You’re both amazing videographers.
It looks like they were loved grandparents and its nice that people were keeping a look out. Sad how they left everything behind (family members) to fall apart after they passed on. When my grandma passed on, we all pitched in although very painful, to clean her belongings, donate, keep but most of all honor her memory. I had to fly back in from another country I've been living to do just that and I would do it again for my grandma ❤
That estate was listed in the Herald last year for around £1.5m, 2.4k acres - it comes complete with a village and part ownership of a bank of a river and fishing rights.
Again u have captured the beauty! Luv watching u and Jess. You videos and pics are second to none! Thanks for taking us along, I get to see places I would never see otherwise!
The guy could have been living as a recluse in squalor for years before his death as having a property but no longer the means to maintain it happens to many in old age. If he has then died intestate there could be a ongoing legal battle between remaining heirs as to who gets what and these disputes can go on for years with no family member being allowed to remove anything which would account for your find.
Probably a family home that had many generations pass through. So many valuables housed within. I think a lot of books are handed down by generations as I have a few of my great grandparents books. What a beautiful location by the lake. Lovely video Sam and Jess xxxx
Hadn't been empty for more than a few years at most because the indesit compact tumble dryer is still a current model. The sticker on front for the guarantee isn't the older version so 5x years old at the very oldest. Lovely setting by the water and woodland.
Gorgeous house and location!!! I can’t believe all that stuff is just sitting there and no one has smashed it up or stolen stuff! It’s literally just left as it was! It’s so sad that this family has worked so hard to create such a lovely home and memories and now it’s just left to Rot 😔 All those important items, memories history not respected by family! Surely there’s family members that can come collect the items!
So much left behind. Brilliant that there are watchers that ensure that it remains intact. So glad you brought us inside on your journey which judging by your enthusiasm you and your crew enjoyed very much. So enchanting the isolated location which your drone work displayed to perfection. What an explore such an amazing place, the house that just keeps on giving. I wonder how many people occupied this home, did you see any dates anywhere i was hoping you'd check on the candrel jar in the kitchen. One of the best explores you have done a really incredible home. Cheers Jess and Sam intriguing from start to finish. XX ❤️💙

💝 what a perfect gem and it does tickle the brain as too why it’s standing handsomely by the water all by itself , abandoned. It has so much history and beauty to pass down. Very beautiful guys - thank you for sharing 🥰
It's been up for sale for a year or two, offers around £1.4m.. It's an ancient estate of 2.4k acres complete with all sorts, a village, part ownership of river bank, fishing rights, boat house,...
Always sad to see such a place left so frozen in time with not a soul to remember or treasure the memories or possession of those gone before us. But wonderful to see that people have had the respect to leave it as it is without ransacking the place.....Great tour guys!
The radiogram next to the piano is very similar to the one we had in the early 70's. There was a turntable and the radio could get stations from all over the world.
You know that often times if yo7 see more than one kitchen it’s because one is just for the staff to make their own meals. Also, when you see bedrooms up on the top floor or in the attic that’s where they sleep. That’s why it’s not fancy like the rest of the rooms. When you approach the children’s rooms and find either rooms that seems to go follow a long inner doorway system or just two bedrooms side by side, that’s because the nanny was expected to care for the children sat night and during the night.
It does look like two houses been put together, lot of stuff just left to go to waste ,love watching y'all this is second onewatched todayto watch your premier
What an awesome house (or more like mansion). When you were coming across all those family photos its makes one wonder where on earth have the family gone to? It definitely appears to have belonged to some sort of Lord or someone high in Scottish society. But it was simply heart breaking to watch. You revealed what was clearly once a loving happy home filled with a wonderful family which has now become a distant memory. Its made me rather sad to see that home going to rack and ruin. I love the respect that you both show the place and the family that lived in it. Thanks S&J for making such a wonderful and poignant explore video. You pair are truly one of the best Urbex Mavericks out there! All the best. 👍.

Wow Sam & Jess, this was a beautiful place. I still can't get over how many wonderful places are just left to rot and fall apart, makes me sad. Hey, loved your video, what a great find. I must say though you may want to remove some of the stills and drone footage as it’s way to easy to find the location, as that particular spot is rather unique in a few ways.
For an abandoned house, it is exceptionally clean in areas ie no dust! I would hate to think that strangers were trespassing on my family property. How did you get in? Someone is obviously paid to tend the grounds.
Man it blows my mind that people abandon these buildings and amazing things you guys come across!!! Really enjoy watching the treasure hunts … iam actually an antique dealer in the U.S ; 1000s of dollars just rotting away 😢, so sad , but thanks for the cool adventures
Thx 🙏🏻 Folks! Great treasure you’ve presented for our viewing pleasure. I’ve saved it and will give a look again. Try to learn more about the castle. ♾ d
Like has been mentioned, it is crazy that a property like this has had no younger family members/generations to take it on. It's wild location and the responsibility, not to mention the cost to keep that place going would have been a scary prospect to younger members of the family in the changing times we live in. Whatever the reason it is a massive waste of a grand building and the memories it hides inside. Great explore guys. All the best to you.

Also so many rooms were necessary because foe every person there was a servant. They get the lesser rooms, mostly upstairs. They had to be separated males in one part, females in the other. The sitting rooms are amazing!
Thanks guys!
Wow, that is one BIG house! Imagine that being renovated. Beautiful area. Looks like a peaceful place to live.
What I’d give
From Oregon USA 🇺🇸 😊💞
To all the negative cruel people, this ABANDONED HOME DID have dust, tons of cobwebs and sure looked like the closests had A LOT of clothes in them, so I'm not sure what video you all are watching. 🤔🙄 Take another look see... 🤓😳😊
Sam And Jess this place is so beautiful and l have to say it brought me to tears, to see such a place abandon and forgotten is so so sad.
TV I'm guessing 1970s why is it left you would think someone is responsible for the property 🤔 great vlog cheerio Ellie xx
I can't believe some of the locations that you investigate... I love watching your channel... Have a Great Christmas Sam, Jess & Family
Phenomenal explore Sam and Jess! This home was beautiful! The scenery was breathtaking! Thank you very much for sharing this with us!😊❤️
Phenomenal Explore! Surely this is trespassing? Breaking and entering?
You can see the old parts of the house and the newer add ones. My aunt and uncle added rooms and fireplaces to their house for decades! Y’all are wonderful to watch so respectful of others and their lives. You two give me hope for the youth of this world! Wonderful find enjoyed it much. Cheers from Sugarland Texas ❤️🇺🇸🇬🇧
WOW YET AGAIN GUYS . CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS EXPLORE 👍😍👍😍💯🙏
The beautiful Highlands...birthplace of most of my ancestors. Love the soundtrack 💝
Thank you, and...
Happy Christmas! 💖🎄🎇
Jess looks awsome carrying the candle walking at the end of video
You treated the house and furnishings with great respect. Good job. Any idea when it was last occupied and who owns it? Enjoyed the video.
I would buy this place immediately!!
That estate was listed in the Herald last year for around £1.5m, 2.4k acres - it comes complete with a village and part ownership of a bank of a river and fishing rights.
Beautiful find guys. Ashame it falling apart. It amazes me how family just leaves a place to rot. Very sad.
One of the most beautiful house & surroundings, you captured it well, thank you both xx
Again u have captured the beauty! Luv watching u and Jess. You videos and pics are second to none! Thanks for taking us along, I get to see places I would never see otherwise!
What an amazing house. The stairs that lead up from the kitchen could be live in help quarters?
It’s so sad that this family has worked so hard to create such a lovely home and memories and now it’s just left to Rot 😔
All those important items, memories history not respected by family!
Thank you for sharing this rare gem l will probably watch again. All the best and continued success in your explorations. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family and crew. Happy New Year from 🇨🇦
Immanent Domain, I've heard of people getting away with it.That looks like a great place to try and the Cool Clear Blue Waters. Looks grand for Brewing Ale's. Happy Holidays!
Lovely location dear Jess and Sam! I love your aerial footage of this stunning house on the Scottish shore! Love you and wish you a Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!
Hi that tv come out in the 1970 and 1980 it a old TV not very old
What a grand place. So big and filled with really valuable things. The silver alone is worth a fortune. The family is fortunate that many explorers are honest and kind and don’t take souvenirs. Really loved the gong, the wood clothes cabinets, that unusual tiled floor was just beautiful. Another great one Sam & Jess. Wishing you both a very Merry Christmas & a safe, happy, healthy, and peace filled New Year. If you ever come to Houston, USA- you must look us up and stay with us. Love to you both. Many thanks for all the grand explores. Thankful that we found your RUclips channel. Blessed✨Be Friends💖
What an interesting place that is.The TVs look like theyre frim the 70s.Beautiful location.xx
One of the best abandon places I’ve seen loved it Sam and Jess thank you 🙏
What a fabulous house! Such a shame that mother nature will take over unless the family sell the property. Merry Christmas Sam and Jess, and thank you for this video xxx
What an explore such an amazing place, the house that just keeps on giving. I wonder how many people occupied this home, did you see any dates anywhere i was hoping you'd check on the candrel jar in the kitchen. To live there would be devine, beautiful in every aspect the house and the land. Such a shame and a sad case that it's being left to decay and rot. One of the best explores you have done a really incredible home. Cheers Jess and Sam intriguing from start to finish. XX ❤️💙
I agree with Alison about letting people know the situation of these lovely places. Unscrupulous people could take advantage of its solitude and spoil it or steal from it. Keep on with showing us, but please dont let it be known where you are.
The estate's been up for sale for over a year, probably longer.
Excellent walk through. Great camera work
Very natural and real. 👍🏽 Thanks for sharing 😘
Outstanding house, loved every bit of it, unreal, out in the middle of nowhere, but what a find, thank you so much for taking us along!! These exploring houses are sooo good
Absolutely mesmerizing. Thank all of you very much for sharing your content.
Great house! The land around is beautiful. Thx 4 sharing. Job well done. Always enjoy exploring with u guys. Merry Christmas, stay safe & well.
💝 what a perfect gem and it does tickle the brain as too why it’s standing handsomely by the water all by itself , abandoned. It has so much history and beauty to pass down. Very beautiful guys - thank you for sharing 🥰
From the looks of it, they added the barn to part of the house. It must have been really cold in the winter being it is next to a lake. Neat place!
Thank you for the video. As usual you never fail to deliver. Av wanted to go to Skye for years. Been told its so beautiful.
And I can not afford a house in America. This home with some work would be a fine place to call home.
Beautiful view out side & Beautiful House thank you for sharing this video
You know that often times if yo7 see more than one kitchen it’s because one is just for the staff to make their own meals. Also, when you see bedrooms up on the top floor or in the attic that’s where they sleep. That’s why it’s not fancy like the rest of the rooms. When you approach the children’s rooms and find either rooms that seems to go follow a long inner doorway system or just two bedrooms side by side, that’s because the nanny was expected to care for the children sat night and during the night.
Wow! What an amazing place. So sad it is just wasting away.. Thanks for sharing it with us!!
yep the pair of you do very good explores, also ( and is common with younger explorers) i love the naïve explanations for some objects makes me chuckle!
Strange set up of a house, more like a maze, quite different i lovit, such a lovely Scottish country home, wish a name to go w it. Thank you for the tour most enjoyable, u were so respectful & kind, lovely tour guides glad i found your 💕🍀
My goodness, that is one huge house! Wow 🤩 old all very old, love their music 🎶 Great job guys 😊🤗👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Absolutely stunning scenery and an amazing explore, really enjoyed this thank you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
amazing place you guys keep smashing it! have a lovely Xmas
So far my favorite!! Just lovely! Happy Holidays from Oklahoma...
Wow Sam & Jess, this was a beautiful place. I still can't get over how many wonderful places are just left to rot and fall apart, makes me sad.
You asked bout that tv downstairs, know there could be big difference between Europe and USA. But I think it looks like maybe 196os to 1970s. Reminds me of what I would have seen when I was little.
Thank you for shareing. Be safe out in the snow, it's cold. We got our first real good snow over weekend. Was -3°F in wee early hours Monday morning here in Maine USA
Thanks for an amazing year guys. Merry Christmas, best wishes and much love to you and your family xox 💖💖
Superb video as always guys. We'll done. Love to watch your adventures.
Thank you for the up load once again brilliant 😀
Thanks for sharing this video ❤
Am surprised there isn't more cobwebs and dust if it's been empty for so long. Is it possible the owners still visit?
What a time capsule ... I'm watching 'OUTLANDERS' ON NETFLIX .... and I fell in love with the Sottish Highlands ...
Hello love your videos that gold chaise lounge do used to call them fighting couches you too be safe and keep showing us those beautiful places out there in the world God bless you and have a Merry Christmas
Did you see a door under the main hall entry stairs? ... does this home have a basement? ....
I wish someone would buy this home and restore her to her former glory ! ... so many antiques That amazing Clock and those clothes closets are HUGE
and beautiful! ... I love the way the three stairs look down unto each other ... it's wonderful to see it ...
hi Sam and Jess this is definitely my favorite place you guys have filmed nothing can beat it it's the best ever I want this house so bad I've always wanted a house on the water so this house is perfect for me I absolutely love Scotland and Skye is my favorite place in Scotland I've never been but I've seen videos hopefully one day thanks for sharing and stay safe 💙
They don't show you walking past the signs saying private property
Man it blows my mind that people abandon these buildings and amazing things you guys come across!!! Really enjoy watching the treasure hunts … iam actually an antique dealer in the U.S ; 1000s of dollars just rotting away 😢, so sad , but thanks for the cool adventures
What an absolutely stunning house, I want to live there, solitude and scenery it's perfect. Thankyou x
Loved this explore! Shame memory items and family things are left to deteriorate.
Where is this?
Nice. Thank you for sharing. It will never stop amazing me that people leave all that valuable stuff and a house / mansion to decay. Sad!
You guys get better and better! Good to see you grow and Improve greatly. Fantastic thanks.
Wow 😮 amazing video Sam and Jess, what a beautiful place such a shame it’s abandoned.
This was fantastic. I love the property with water front access.
Love and peace to all...💖🎄💖
Thx 🙏🏻 Folks!
This place is absolutely beautiful if I had the money I’d definitely find out who to buy it off it’s just amazing! That tele we had the same one n my mum bought it new in 1979 my mum is Scotish but from way up north from place call Thurso beautiful place. It’s so sad that’s just sitting there rotting away. Thanks Sam n Jess 😘❤️
Fabulous house .Lot of History .Hi from Canada 🇨🇦
Hi jess hi Sam if I had the authority to say to you please have this Scottish manor I would give it too you guys as you deserve it , love to you both and a happy Christmas, stay safe big tim xxxx
Hi Sam and jess this is a beautiful location, what a day for a explor with all the snow, but we'll worth the trip, amazing building great architecture and fixtures and a lot of antique furniture, this was a very unusual house but sad to see it decaying away this has to be one of the best l have seen thanks for sharing this one l throughy enjoy watching, may l wish you both a very happy Christmas and New year and will be looking forward to watch your video's next year thanks again
So glad you made it through the snow ❄️, the TV looks early 70s like my Nan's. Love the soundtrack after a busy day it soothes the senses. Another beautiful find, always wanted a grandfather clock (what a beauty!) not practical in a tiny flat. Happy holidays 🎉 x
I just want to get in and give the house some love!
Amazing place thanks guys really enjoyed this video xx
Hi! New subscriber. Really enjoyed this place. Saw it once before. Still amazing. Your aerial views are amazingly beautiful! This home is beautiful. I would live there in a second. Love listening to your accent. Thank you from Pennsylvania!
fantastic find, we had a TV very similar to that, mid 80's.
