30 FPS in a single player game like Kingdom Come is fine by me, had to do that for most triple A's on my old 760, but trying to play R6:Seige with 30fps is going to be pretty frustrating, fair warning to anybody attempting it. Competitive games, especially ones that involve precise aiming, really do feel so much better with at least 60, and people with higher FPS will have a small advantage over you. But it's good to try it out I suppose.

Back in the day I ran a dual XFX 6970 in crossfire. Did great, but when GCN happened, AMD dropped support for it faster than Tesla's stock after a federal recall. You can get Crimson 15 on it and that is about it.
I saw so many of these double gpu cards on used markets. Half of them were broken. Two gpu's require all the other components to be "doubled" as well. There are too many parts on it. So, these cards are a big NO NO today. Nice work mate, greetings from Serbia. Be safe! :-)
7000 series supported "for now", and very likely to be supported for a long time.. They are all 1st GCN cards (Terascale 7000 series aren't supported for years). GPUs as recent as R7 435/450 (released in 2016) Radeon 520 (relased in 2017) and Radeon 610 mobile (released in 2019) use the same 1st gen GCN architecture. Actively supporting these relatively new GPUs will automatically mean supporting cards as old as 7970 from 2012. If, lets say, AMD's policy is to cut support 5 years after product release, that mean support for Radeon 610 (last 1st gen GCN GPU) will end in August 2024. It will be another 3+ years before the lack of active support starts hurting compatibility. If supporting 1st gen GCN cards is not too different from supporting newer GCN iterations, well, GCN 5th gen cores is still produced in amd's brand new 5000 series mobile processors. We may use 7970 well into 2030s. All of this is technical perspective though.. If AMD deliberately cuts support for some other reason, that is a different story.
When I replaced my ATI 6970 for the then new GTX 1060 6GB in november 2017 there was little noticeable performance increase. I used that card for 7 years and it still was good enough.
I've still got a 7990 somewhere. I just can't bring myself to get rid of it. It only cost me £40, 6 years ago and has always worked perfectly, although they do run very warm. I might just mount it in a frame with a "To be used in emergency" on it.
I have a single 6950 and I've found that the 15.7.1 drivers work better. Folding at home wouldn't recognize the card with the 16.2.1 drivers that I see you're using. 5:22 Just something I found that may help get more games to work.
my favorite gpu, had 2 of these power hungry jets in my pc long time ago and boi did they work well in cf supported games, just had to change some settings for few hours before it worked well, had 3x nexus rx-5300, 1 per gpu and one for everything else :D Edit: i see many of your test games arent using cf, you can usually force games to use cf.
Mate you are the best tech RUclipsr IMO. Must be because fellow Englishman and not shouting about like and subscribe/over hyping shit. Keep up the good work 👍
I still have this card on my self, once the 290x was released I dumped the multi-gpu experience forever. The micro stutter was just so annoying. I did end up swapping the cooler for a accelero twin turbo to improve thermals...it was a beast in benchmarks but was huge disappointment in many games.
I totally understand you, I sell everything to CEX now. I've been scammed as a seller enough times on eBay that I really isn't worth selling there more
I had a R9-280X + 650W PSU having the same problem. The 650W has been splitted into 2 rails hence the OCP is triggered after running furmark ( even the actual power usage is only 450W ) Swapping to a stronger PSU ( 750W, same series ) solves the problem. For a 300W+ tier card, finding a PSU will be a problem (excluding mining PSU), hence people may consider throw out without investment once again.
I picked the GTX 590 instead of the 6990.... and I would have regretted it if it wasn't for EVGA having a lifetime warranty on that card. When the 590 died, EVGA sent me a GTX 970 as a replacement. The GTX 590 only had a reference version, so all cards were about the same. The earlier versions had a flaw in the power delivery system that would eventually ruin the card. I heard the second reversion still had problems.
if you can retest the card, use regular ryzen or intel cpu. 3400G is capped at x8 3.0 in pcie slot. if this card runs on gen2 pcie, it translates to x8 gen2 which is way worse also try modded 16.2 legacy driver from leshcatlabs. they patched some stuff if i recall compared to 16.2 WHQL
The problem with dual GPUs is similar to that of dual CPUs - communication and scheduling. And since a GPU is typically highly parallel already, single chip solutions already have many, many specialised "cores". So multiple standalone GPUs on a single card isn't something I see making a comeback without some serious buyin from MS or Chronos folks (Vulkan) to handle the annoying parts.
God bless you for being an honest man and telling them that there might be nothing wrong with the card and even offering them the card and money back for it. That is the way to go in life, being kind and honest men, since this is the way for world peace and prosperity.
You should equip a sight on your weapons on R6S, will help you aim at the terrorists with more ease, also i suggest you to learn to use the q and e buttons to lean on the left or right, the game should have a tutorial for that somewhere
For some reason I keep accumulating HD 6000 series cards. First was a 6350(gave that one to a friend), then a 6450, then I was literally given a 6850 for free by a friend of a friend. I wonder what my next 6000 series card will be, and how it will make it's way into my hands.
I had a "performance issue" with these dual GPU cards... Dell decided to sell a XPS with a woeful power supply of 418watts which if the GPU was the only requirement would have been fine, however there was a pig inside squealing at me as it tried to power spinning discs, a motherboard, and a CPU. Where it just wasn't up to the job. IMO I swapped it out for better performance and one third power hungriness of a gtx750. The pigs went and all was well... It's always mindful to note that a dual card will almost use double the power of a single card and just short of two single cards.... And 300watts is not a fair measure as the Amps need to be there. I recall the 8800 when they launched and the power needs they had What you may want to try is two dual cards (quad crossfire) or if brave? as you will need a 1200watt PSU and plenty of money for the "testing".. Isn't it funny how it's a 2gb card in a 4gb world... Crisis1 was 512mb world.. Try a 128mb card as that was common then... 256 was "pro"..
My pre-built hp phoenix computer had a very similar amd card. It only lasted a year and just stopped working and my computer would constantly crash playing simple games. Replaced it with a 1070 at the time and I've had it ever since.

I really enjoyed the video but what about the box of graphics cards? I hope to hear more about them soon :)
A friend once had a 6990 from AMD/ATI with a different cooler. Those cards disappeared very fast from the market after the 7000 series launched.
my favorite gpu, had 2 of these power hungry jets in my pc long time ago and boi did they work well in cf supported games, just had to change some settings for few hours before it worked well, had 3x nexus rx-5300, 1 per gpu and one for everything else :D Edit: i see many of your test games arent using cf, you can usually force games to use cf.
I've been scammed as a seller enough times on eBay that I really isn't worth selling there more
Thank you for the Rainbow six siege benchmark, i love your videos
I had a R9-280X + 650W PSU having the same problem.
The 650W has been splitted into 2 rails hence the OCP is triggered after running furmark ( even the actual power usage is only 450W )
Swapping to a stronger PSU ( 750W, same series ) solves the problem.
3400G is capped at x8 3.0 in pcie slot. if this card runs on gen2 pcie, it translates to x8 gen2 which is way worse
also try modded 16.2 legacy driver from leshcatlabs. they patched some stuff if i recall compared to 16.2 WHQL
Up!
My first and lovely gpu. What a beast it was. Bought it for 400 euros in 2013. And you need 700w psu and greater to run it
God bless you for being an honest man and telling them that there might be nothing wrong with the card and even offering them the card and money back for it. That is the way to go in life, being kind and honest men, since this is the way for world peace and prosperity.
Funniest part about this is the integrated graphics on that 3400g should provide similar performance as that card in single gpu mode
You should equip a sight on your weapons on R6S, will help you aim at the terrorists with more ease, also i suggest you to learn to use the q and e buttons to lean on the left or right, the game should have a tutorial for that somewhere
Can I just say that I fucking love genuinely good people like you? Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
You are a good chap for saying if you sell it you will give them the money
I recall the 8800 when they launched and the power needs they had
What you may want to try is two dual cards (quad crossfire) or if brave? as you will need a 1200watt PSU and plenty of money for the "testing"..
Isn't it funny how it's a 2gb card in a 4gb world... Crisis1 was 512mb world..
Try a 128mb card as that was common then... 256 was "pro"..
Man i never realized how good the lighting is in Crysis
My pre-built hp phoenix computer had a very similar amd card. It only lasted a year and just stopped working and my computer would constantly crash playing simple games. Replaced it with a 1070 at the time and I've had it ever since.
I have one of these :) Got it for $35 from the junkshop a few years ago.
I always like your vid before watching, i just know.keep it up
