2 great videos on my favourite Zorki, purely for the lever wind. The third dot (red) on the shutter release is for locking open the shutter for long exposures. Select B, depress and hold the shutter release then twist it to turn the red dot 90 degrees anti clockwise. Shutter stays locked until you twist the red mark back to line up with the other 2 dots.
Hi Andrew, thanks for the useful information, really nice cameras, wish the weather would get better, so want to get out and shoot it, the Kiev's as well!
Hi, yes there is, by taking up any slack by twisting the rewind knob until the film is tight, then each time you advance the film the rewind knob will turn showing that the film is moving through the camera..... 😀
thank you - very good and detailed explanation,i have just bought zorki 4k from ebay. Does that camera take good pictures? i used Fed 4 rangefinder and i was really pleased with the results of the printed pictures.
@@thephotographersbag thank you mr - i only payed 66 pounds on ebay for Zorki 4K - it had information that it has been properly maintained and i am looking forward to use it and to have comparison, towards Fed 4 - a russian another rangefinder, which was cheaper.
@@gooorylin the 4k has become an iconic camera and prices are on the rise, sounds like you got a good one, congratulations, please keep us posted, plenty of USSR fans on here.....
@@thephotographersbag i have to also - print some pictures, last time - i only was able to print once from negative film, but because of lockdown issue - no shops were open, now - only one shop in my local area is able to do photography service - processing pictures from analog camera.
Hi, they can be a bit awkward but you should not need a knife to get the back off, sounds like something is not right, maybe the back has been replaced from another camera, I take it there is no damage to the back or camera body, bent metal etc, can you see where it is catching? They are quite a pain to fit even when working properly, have to be lined up.....
Hi, yes agrees it sounds a bit out of shape, delicate prying and bending might do the trick or else a replacement back in good condition, I hope it's not the camera body causing the trouble...
Hi, sounds like the back needs some gentle manipulation to make it fit better, agreed spare backs are hard to find, a spares camera might be an option...I hope the issue does not stop you enjoying using the camera even if you need a knife to get the back off...
Hi, have to ask, is there film in the camera, might have reached the end of the roll, that would be a simple fix If there is no film in the camera then it gets more complicated, let me know and I'll come back to you....
Thanks very much this explained very clearly how to load and unload the film
Your excellent video allowed me load my Zorki 4k with confidence even though it was the first time. Thank you!
Hi, happy to help, lovely camera and great to use, I hope you enjoy it and please come back if help needed....

@@thephotographersbag Thanks for the reply. I like my Zorki's and my Fed's but the Kiev 4a is my go to rangefinder.
You just saved my roll of film! Thank you!
Thank you, just got my hands on one of these and this was really helpful.
Hi, thanks and please let us know how you get on with this nice rangefinder camera, enjoy, they are wonderful.....
Zorki is the best !
Hi, quite agree....
Is there anyway to know if the film is winding or not when taking a shot??

@@thephotographersbag the back was never changed, also i think thats because it is bented a little.

How much does it cost?
Hi, here in the UK they cost between £20 to £50 depending on condition and the lens if any, will depend on your location I guess ....
