You are so right, it is enchanting, and I visited the Via Veneto because of it recently, Fellini is still very respected there, it is a beautiful film about a thinking person facing life.

La dolce vita is my favorite Fellini. It's such a feast for the eyes.

It’s actually a boring movie. Only college students studying the Romance languages and insufferable film students think it’s great

Growing up in the Film Institute of India at Pune, near Mumbai, as a boy , I first didn't understand the Film "Eight and a Half", but it just grew on me and I began to understand the depth of Felini with my father's and friend's help . Today exactly as Martin spoke, I couldn't out it better. Haven't seen a movie in ages like this one

Scorsese for me is a genius and has an incredible grasp on his deep view of life. I would hope to have 10% of his talent. Fellini... it seems italian film making has died along with his death. We forget how important italian film was back in the 40's thru 60's and for me how it influenced so much in American film making.

Scorsese tells how other filmmakers' work pushed him to make movies about his own environment. And that is just the influence he himself has had on young filmmakers like Fatih Akin...

My guess is he saw that when it came out and wanted his daughter to see it the way he did. I personally saw I Vitelloni first, but merely by coincidence. My first three Fellini were I Vitelloni, Satyricon and Casanova, just because they were the only ones I could get hold of at the time. It's interesting to see how the order you see them in shapes how you understand Fellini.

Marty coulda started with Fellin's first film, The White Shiek. It's a completely mature film.

La Strada is BORING. I wish Charlie pushed him on what he means exactly my the “warmth” of this movie.
