Max is absolutely spot-on with his assessment of Liberty/F1/FIA choosing venues in America. Embarrassing really. F1/Liberty need to remove Las Vegas and Miami (they are NOT Monaco), and spend the $500,000,000 on any number of proper historic, classic American racetracks. Like Road America, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Sonoma, the Current Indianapolis GP circuit (get over 2005 and bring proper tires), Watkins Glen International, Barber Motorsports Park, for example would be far better for true American race fans (not celebs, drunken wanna be's that go to be seen).
It just out of touch. They knew America got a HUGE market potential. 100% when they designed Vegas track, they did not give a flying sh*t how will it look as long as they drive in the Vegas Strip. Ffs, they even put the "Vegas Strip" name in the track map live. Do you ever see that happened in other track? Like did they put "Eau Rogue" name when we were in Spa? No? Exactly.
Yes!! Loud YES! The US has some of the greatest racetracks on the frikkin' planet. As a Belgian I wasn't aware if thise until about ten years ago. I knew Indy and Laguna Seca, but then I started watching some CanAm's from back in the day and I was like hold on, these guys actually have more than two proper racetracks and they look 😍 amazing

Max, Charles & Carlos are the best of F1. The FIA must rectify the penalty placed on Carlos after FP1. If the FIA wants fans to- Fix the Carlos penalty Totally agree with Max’s final statement. Emotion makes F1 the Sport and Show it is. The Show does NOT make the Sport. Keep your mind glued to this reality FIA. If Mercedes was the 1 F1 Team that decided against issuing force majure, thus causing the 10 grid penalty to be imposed on Carlos for something he and Team Ferrari had nothing to do with causing, my reaction is Mercedes may think this act will guarantee them P2 in the Constructors ranking, and the tens of millions of dollars that goes with same, but I believe they have shot themselves in the foot and Ferrari will be P2, and Mercedes will end up P3, and the money will rightfully go to Team Ferrari, rather than Mercedes. The act of not agreeing to implement force majure and thus waive the 10 grid position on Carlos, is in my opinion the most glaring example of poor sportsmanship in F1 competition I have ever seen. FIA - FIX THIS - BOTH FOR CARLOS & GOING FORWARD

Max is right: the majority of people attending the Vegas race are casuals only, and with no real appreciation of the sport or what's been happening throughout the season. So inevitably, these folks will poorly compare it to 'more exciting nascar crash races', and that's a shame. So how pumped up should these drivers be, when the majority of the people there have no clue what F1 is about? My opinion, at least.
@stevenl3810 CotA is pretty universally praised for it's challenging and fun layout by drivers and everyone else who actually knows what they are looking at.
It's a balancing act. I have been watching F1 since vettel days in Redbull which was exciting. I watched live twice in Singapore but I didn't watch the entertainment since I was there for the race. Overall it's more fun watching at home since you get to see more information and can focus on the race. Liberty media wants to make money and trying to attract more casual fans with side entertainment,it will boost F1 brand and the prize money as well but they are losing the old hardcore fans. But in a way the world has changed as well compared to the past and younger fans are more fickle and easily bored thus the need for those side entertainment. But overall I think kas Vegas is way too much, it's just American style that doesn't suit the rest of the world F1 fans preference at the moment.
Its a big shame, i feel sorry for Saintz and Ferrari. And Russell and Lewis are not talking about this because it benefits them. Big respect for max for speaking out.
Yeah, there's a bit of that about him. When he first started in F1 I was of the opinion he was way too young (what do I know about racing talent?). Then he had a few incidents & I thought he may not be around long enough to make an impact. Geez, how wrong was I ?!
So much focus on what happened in FP1, but FP2 was a far bigger disgrace when fans were kicked out of the track shortly before the session started! That’s unacceptable and shows that the paying fans are an afterthought as always!
I was there. Flew in from Europe on Thursday and only had tickets for Thursday. We waited so long and they hardly gave us updates. Give us something so we know they think of the fans. At midnight it was delayed 2 more hours. Then at 01:25 the announcement was made we had to be gone by 01:30! After being awake now for 30 hours I was so upset. And guess what, at 01:40 the metro police came out sweeping the seats telling us we were officially trespassing now and could have been arrested. I was flabbergasted. While the engines were starting up they just scared away. They fans make F1 possible and they only care about they money. No surprise there I guess. Now they want to give us $200 gift certificate for their F1 store to compensate 😂😂😂 Absolutely not. I will get my money back!
Carlos just has a fabulous command of the English language. I like him heaps. Props to him too for keeping his composure considering his roller coaster ride the previous 24 hours..

Completely agree with Max, Most of the people who go to these kinds of F1 Races like Celebrities/Influencers etc, only go to party, Get wasted with their friends and watch their favorite DJ's perform. But don't understand that this is a serious sport and all these drivers are putting their lives on the line driving insanely fast. This whole party/concert thing ruins the vibe of the actual motorsport and doesn't bring the passion that real motorsport enthusiasts/fans enjoy, Which is the true essence of F1 Racing.

Max said it well at the end. That is what Formula 1/Liberty Media should be focusing on. The technical bits of the cars, what makes a F1 car go fast, handle so well and what drivers has to do to drive an F1 car! Forget the fluff and more inside on how F1 works!
@@johannbezuidenhout2976 I heard....thats why Max made a GREAT point in stating that teams should not have a say in these decisiones - because they will logically go for their own gains with so much money at stake. Now - Drivers are becoming pawns on a chessboard to bring in Billions and the only thing missing with the show where Victoria Secret models with huge neon light wings. Its not about the sport; unless we are in Europe. Its different. You can see how team principals are falling in line like they are in North Korea. I'm talking about folks like Toto Wolf, who warned Fred Vasseur for speaking the truth about how dissapointed he was in F1 after FP1. Wolf: "You are gonna get in trouble for this" and praising F1 in the sky after basicly trashing Ferrari for their own fault in FP1. The passive agressive tone to a passionate journalist - cmon. You mean 26:04
how is that fair against mercedes? Why should they fight a new ferrari engine with no penalty for ferrari because of the drain? People showing their biass...they dont want ferrari to be punished for bad luck, they want mercedes to be fucked against a new engine. Ridiculous.
@@VjRj84 Yes, I would have preferred that...

@@eshansingh9951 Yes i would, why should hamilton have a brand new engine against his competitors? Thats punishing them instead of him, in this case. Again, its a shame for carlos, ridiculous from the fia and they should cover the costs from the cost cap. Max being Max 😂 regarding the lovely sprint race 😂
When he mentioned sprint, his point was it is exciting for the Sunday, because we (and the teams, drivers as well) do not know how things actually will be on Sunday, how the tires will behave, how the pace will be, who will be faster. and this is exciting and so right about the normal weekend format. It's not like he just threw a random shitbomb on sprint.
@@Stantube1000 yes absolutely I agree with you and what Max said. I’m not a fan either
Yep, he doesn't like those things. I think they're pretty close to pointless. Honestly, what is the point?
@@mickeysmiths not just pointless!! they are decremental to the grand prix itself, the main event.
It lowers the level of excitement and unpredictability. Sprint reveals everyone's cards, balance of power and preferable tire compounds, strategy....
But clowns at Liberty believe these shit event improve their financial numbers. They can sell more TV time, because they say more people watch sprint and shootout compared to free practice.
Love Max keeping it real. This should be about the sport of Formula 1 and not a party.
We all know there is one driver that is there more for the show! Max's assessment is 100% on point! My brother was in Montreal twice during Michael's era. He was such a fan that he called on my on my 800 number so I could hear the cars go by! He was in the hairpin both years!
What I like about Max, he tells like is, and not what they want to hear.

And how it should be.
Formula One is all about racing, first and foremost.

so why has he not said AD21 was a farce. why not criticise the Saudi GP??? its the hypocrisy of max that people hate.
The end was brutally honest from Max. And gutted for carlos.
A TRUE RACER is Max!
Feel really sorry for Carlos and it feels so unjustified to give him a penalty for this mess created by the track itself. Mercedes reached a new low for voting a penalty against him. Beneath all morals and humanity, disgusting team
I'm so glad Max evidently never attended any PR classes. Or if he did, chose not to listen 😅😂
Max is racing facts....again.
Max just giving compliments to his opposition is so wholesome 😂

If the FIA wants fans to- Fix the Carlos penalty
Totally agree with Max’s final statement.

I agree with everything Max said at the end. 👏🏿 Bring back the focus to the racing, the rivalries, the engineering.
What about gaining new fans for F1? Casual or not, fans are fans . Money is money
I've seen little evidence of a majority of casuals with what they're charging for tickets/events.
@stevenl3810 CotA is pretty universally praised for it's challenging and fun layout by drivers and everyone else who actually knows what they are looking at.
Not just nascar, but NBA ... NA don't care about F1, but the turists that brings to their country.
Wow, VERY well said Max!
And that's that. Max you'r right!

@@johannbezuidenhout2976 I heard....thats why Max made a GREAT point in stating that teams should not have a say in these decisiones - because they will logically go for their own gains with so much money at stake.

Wishfull thinking, I know,. I know.

I just had to rewind and listen to Max's closing statement again for another wholehearted laugh. Keep it up Max!
Oh man - Max is preaching the truth. I remember the Hakinnen - Schumacher rivalry. This is when I fell in love with F1. There was no show, Dj's, lights and all that. Before that we had other drivers like Senna etc..
Fans knew what F1 was about. Yes - Passion and emotion. Develop a car and drive it on the max limit - risk your life. It was all about setting the highest standards with huge risks. Legends where made. The fans back then know about the sport and where hardcore fans.
Its F1 - The highest standard in motor racing.
No; this is not F1 what it used to be and Max is pretty much the only driver speaking the truth openly He doesn't care about being a good poster boy for F1. Thank you Max. This is what legends are made off.
I am a senior and racing is new to me and so I’m a little bit curious. Enjoyed listening to Max who is very passionate about racing. Although the race is held in Las Vegas this time, he wants fans to focus more on the sport not the show.
