CORRECTION:
Antonio Nurri did more than sales at ACS. I neglected to check with him prior to filming as I prefer little contact with manufacturers when making videos to make them less biased.
He is actually named on a few patents- one with the Vesuvius and one with the Vostok. He was a more integral part in previous companies than I realized! His hard work over the years have accumulated into this beauty of a machine.
Thanks for more info.
This will fit perfectly in my 3,000 square foot kitchen.
That's small. Gotta pump up those rookie numbers
That part.
What is that in human numbers? 10m2?
@@wenderisI’d say approximately 394 bananas
@@wenderis Well, it's relative. Depends on how long is your foot.
I was waiting for him to sing Under Pressure. Would really love to hear that. but, of course, no pressure 😉
Next time
Coffee hobby is like audiophile quest for the perfect music playback. I am a sucker for both. Very informative review. Well done.
Is it ever. Versalab, case and point. Made a great turntable and now makes great belt drive grinders :) our audio showroom pulls a pretty good shot : )
It would be interesting to see a channel for that crossover audience.
Another great video Lance and Hugo! What a beautiful machine. I haven't had the chance to play with a lever machine yet but it's great to watch videos like this and learn some of the details about them.
I've owned the ACS Evo Leva for almost 2 years now which is the precursor to the Vostok and the Nurri and after owning this type of lever I can't go back a traditional pump machine. I used a pump machine a couple of weeks ago and it drove me nuts. The level of consistency you get from these LSM type groups is unmatched. I can pull back to back shots and be within 2g output just by using the pressure gauge as a guide. That's how consistent the double spring group is.
Absolutely. Acs and nurri are goats
Thanks for this! I’ve been hemming and hawing on this for a while waiting to see your review.
15 minute heat up is a really unexpected feature that is really nice.
This is a beautifully crafted machine. Although I could afford such a lever, I went for the Vectis. I like the "reduce to the max" approach of the Vectis.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
Finally the wait is over 😅. It's so expensive but... I like it 🤩. I think this is one of the machines that allows you to create whatever combinations you want and break the "standard coffee rules". This is the price for creating something amazing that suits your own tastes. I definitely think this is the 4th wave of coffee. Prepare your coffee the way you want and like it best. It's a great personal experience.
Thank you Lance for your review thats awesome.
Psstt: By the way you should keep it 🤫
22:11 That's my favorite part, that's honestly what I am hoping for when I learn how to make espresso. I finally decided to get the Breville Bambino Plus and the DF64 Gen 2 grinder 🥹 got myself a scale, bottomless portafilter, self leveling tamp, and puck screen. I think I got everything but I am ready for that kind of reaction 😆 I want every sip to be like NOICE until I finish the cup lol
Still rockin a cafe roma and watching your video are pushing me deep and deeper in the coffee world. Its so hard to get a great shot on the roma but im trying!!😊
Loving the show! 👏🏻🥳 Now back to my Flair 58 to brew a shot 😁
likewise!
What a striking design!
Agreed!
First time I’ve been in love with a machine! Stunning!
…but I’ll be sticking with my flair58 because I’m way to poor for this!
I have the acs EVO (v2 with rotary) which is similar to the vostok. These are both great machines, cant go wrong with either. The LSM group is very good. The ACS has the benefit of the pressure guage on the group which is super useful both while pulling the shot, and knowing releasing the portafilter. Nice to see them (ACS & Nurri) getting some reviews!
That is a beautiful machine.
I suggest a trip to your optometrist.
Great review! I'm one of the first owners and have a prototype. Nice to see how fast Antonio improved small issues and is also supporting me as a self import owner.
Lance, I do wonder what is your take for doing turbo lever shots in this machine. I do this by holding the lever back and keeping pressure low, but you can also play with the pump I guess.
Another topic to discuss that wasn't covered is the right dose for the machine.
I moved to use ims baskets and dose 14-15 + sworks puck screen in the 26h and 18-22 + old school puck screen on the 32h.
But some tend to suggest making sure the puck swells a bit and can touch the circlip to get the best body .
How do you set the PI pump pressure?
I have been waiting for your take on this machine. I have been extremely pleased with mine after a fairly long wait. Clive was great to work with and the main reason I ended up with the Nurri instead of the Vostok. I liked the features of both, but this is no small investment and having a bit of stateside support goes a long way IMO. Stale beans caused the only sink shot I've had on this machine since unboxing it.
I did have to do some adjustment with the mechanism behind the lever to make sure it engaged the pump when pulling the lever down. Once I got some clarity on how it functioned, it was an easy fix.
If you don’t mind, could you clarify on the adjustment to engage the pump? I’m 2 weeks out on receiving one. TY
I wish there were a lever machine like this that uses thermoblocks, to shrink it and make it much easier to heat and pull a shot quickly at home. A bit like the Ascasos.
I have to believe people are working on that
No thermoblock but really fast (first pull after 5m): Argos.
I wish I had that machine.
Could easily live with the size.
It's awesome.
I have the vostok and it heats up quickly if you are just pulling a shot. The steam boiler is a little longer but with the auto timer built in you just set the time to turn on the machine automatically, wake up, and pull a shot it's awesome
The Argos is apparently really quick to heat but i don't believe it's a thermoblock
Lance Hercules 💪
You re-wired my brain with your song.
When you said "As that puck is going away" I was wrapping it in my mind "As that puck is going the distance" 😓
Always love your content !
I was wondering what a beauty it was in the background of your recent video!
Hope you enjoy!
Thanks Lance bro!
Thank you for watching!
I'm not buying one any time soon but that was super interesting Lance, thanks!
this is a freaking badass machine
Definitely. It is kick ass
Thanks Lance! Can't wait for the Vectis or Argos review.
Vectis coming next week
YEESSSSSSS! @@LanceHedrick
You are legend!
Great review. Now you have to get a Londinium R24. Maybe then will I finally be able to make a decision what to buy.
Me too. Same conundrum. To me, I think the primary difference is the 54mm vs the 58mm portafilter. I don't think the r24 has a shot timer, though I need to confirm this.
Been looking forward to this one
It's my end game machine. One day
That’s great man! What is it about this that makes it an endgame for you?
Here for singing Lance 🤘🏽
Here I am where my grinder (Eureka mignon) costs more than my coffee machine (Delonghi Dedica), but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Kind of dreaming of getting a flair 58!
Awesome review, thank you!
Get one! You'd love the unlocked potential of the 58
You did it the right way around btw
@@LanceHedrick Risking my wife busting my ass, however! Jokes aside, I’m jumping on another slide, which is modding the heck out of the Dedica. I already replaced the steam wand, now I have a dimmer on the way for flow profiling and a pressure gauge coming soon as well. Portafilter, WDT, dosing ring and distributor already in the house. Oh my, it is a rabbit hole! 😁 Thank you for the inspiration, Lance!

Hoping to see you do a video on the odyssey argos. This the machine in this video looks insane, but it’s way over my budget and its size would be hard to squeeze into my tiny kitchen.
Daaaamn you have an amazing singing voice!
Oh yes, this is the dream machine of the leverheads
All the positives of a lever machine remain, and eliminates all the negatives
Agreed. It's quite nice. I've had an awesome few months with it
Finally 😍
Had to make sure my feelings were true ha!
this group is close to my heart its such a great group.
there are some massive differences to the acs and nurri though which make them for me very different, the biggest is pump activation, the acs uses pressure to activate the pump, as do londinium, this is what gives the pulse duh duh duh noise, its holding pressure to its set value, the nurri being a mechanical switch means the pump is running its set pressure all through the infusion so they infuse really differently, all great machines, just more different than alike
Sure. And a point I probably should've mentioned. You don't have much control with vostok or londinium as it's steam pressure prior to the pump kicking in. You can trigger a steam like PI with the pump on nurri or start at 40 other settings (hyperbolic number).
@@LanceHedrick depends on model, the Evo and Vostok are bothe dual boiler so the pi is what ever the pump is set to like the nurri, like wise with the lr24. The older londinium and new vectis are steam driver 👍👍
Is the primary difference between the LR24 and the Nurri the portafilter size? How would one weigh this difference? Preference?
@@pranadistribution6033 two totally different machines, ones single boile there other dual boiler, one you can independently alter brew and group pressure the other not, they both have adjustable pre infusion. Imo the 54mm pf works better than 58mm.
Love hearing you sing. And looks like a cool machine. Unrelated question - aren't you worried about thermal stability in the Meticulous since the portafilter there is not really heating up properly?
Not with a light weight portafilter, no. As long as you don't have a ton of unnecessary thermal mass. Even if you do, can always preheat with water
Nice review Lance! Can't wait to hear your take on that Vectis on your counter!
This is the dream
Didn't know Nurri Leva came with a rotary pump. Our unit is a noisy vibration pump that rattles the machine like a mad diesel engine haha.
Odd how you didnt really mention some of the flaws I found in our unit. Perhaps theyre totally different specs from our early units.
Ours tends to slide on the counter as we pull the unit. Almost toss the entire unit down to the floor if we didnt bolt it down.😂😂
Especially when we have short users that couldnt pull the lever down properly, they ended up pulling the machine outta the way.
Yours came with wooden paddles which ours didnt and ours is some sharp metal ready to slice our fingers 😅. Also our unit doesnt auto start nor stops. The paddles kept getting misaligned from everyday use and both us and the dealer decided to stop maintaining this flaw and deal with it manually by pressing it.
The rotary pump is noisy
I love your lever machine review. Do you have any plan to review a bezzera strega in the future ?
I just looked at the machine today at Host in Milan. I'll see about getting one.
nice color by the way
Would love to see an overview of the La Pavoni Esperto Edotto
I like the way you sing.
This this looks amazing. I love to see modern innovation on a traditional machine. One question, is the spring pressure adjustable in any way?
being strictly mechanical, the only adjustment would be to swap the spring with a different spring. I have a 2 group lever with 2 different spring pressures, as an example. Each are unique for taste.
Immediate like before watching!
Thank you! Really appreciate it
you have the voice of an angel
I've watched many espresso machine reviews but never been excited by them except for this one. The function of this machine is a game changer for exploring espresso shot. I currently use Gaggia Classic Pro with pump control mod so I know how interesting to play with profile shot. Hope some day I will own this machine. It's so expensive. Haha
Hope you get this, Lance. Is there more water going into the brewhead at the high, pre-set pump pressure? How much did you lower said pressure with the knob, in turns? Thank You.
i like the singing!
Ha thank you!
Looking to get my first grinder, Bridget it around 700. id mainly be using it for filter but down the line some higher clarity more modern espresso (Going to pair it with SSP HU for espresso and want some variation). Currently considering DF64 gen 2 (or sculptor 64S and swap the burrs myself) with SSP cast lab sweet, or might just commit to filter only on this grinder and get the sculptor 78. If anyone has any opinions guidance would be really appreciated.
I have a df64 gen 1. It was/is my first "expensive" grinder. I used it stock for 2 years and it was amazing at everything. I mainly brew espresso now but I've done pour over, Aeropress, filter, and a moka pot with it as well. Besides the minor annoyance of chaff buildup (which I believe the gen2 is greatly improved) I can't see myself ever replacing it. I recently put in SSP cast burrs and they are also making amazing cups.
Would be very interested to know what Lance think about the Gaggiuino .
I wonder if that steam wand would fit on my Bezzera Magica?
Finally. Thank you for this Lance. It has been on my shortlist for a while and have discussed this purchase with Antonio many times. It looks fantastic in blue as well!!
Get you a neon sign for the background that says “silky milky”
That's what our Lance inspired briefs say on them.
How about a ultimate leva showdown!? Odsy to la marzzoco leva, 1k to 12k+? Ha ha.... seriously love this machine but wondering if you good mod odsy or maybe londinium vectis enough to be happy and save 3-4 grand? Thanks for video
I have a vectis video filmed to be released soon
How does it compare to the Londinium machines?
Hi Lance, just wonder if the nurri is good enough for a small coffeeshop, thanks!
if lance did not have his utube channel you know he'd be a greeter at walmart.
I have a Breville batista express, recently updated grinders to the df64v, and I'm in the market to upgrade my machine. I still feel soo conflicted about what machine to buy, and my budget is about 3k. (I keep coming back to the Lelit Bianca v3, but I don't feel committed to it). Any thoughts or main considerations?
I love the Bianca. Have you checked my video on it?
@LanceHedrick yes! I absolutely love your content. Thank you for taking a moment to comment. You're making me feel more confident in the v3 😊🎉
Hugo needs his own channel
He could do a “Hames Joffman” style “Hance Ledrick” channel, lampooning Lance. I think a “Mystery Science 3000” style voiceover would be hilarious.
Have you had any experience with the Alexa X ?
Please make a video about flow profiling.
Does there exist something like a lever operated one group thermocoil/induction machine??
Where did you get a blue version? All I can find online is black, white, or stainless. Love that look in blue, reminds me of the Nordic LM.
This one is on loan. It was one they used to enter a design award.
@@LanceHedrick Ah ok, thanks for clarifying! Hope they won that award because it's a beauty. :)
"It's bad to kill. Guns kill. And you don't have to be a gun. You are what you choose to be."
Guess he took good ol' Hogarth's advice to heart...
The yellow triangle (sticker) is the only blemish - like a "caution, contents may be hot" on a cup.
Agreed. I think things like that are mandatory for safety regulations.
Looks like the Australian version doesn't have the sticker.
It is crazy beautiful, (love the color and wood sides) BUT would not fit anywhere in my home… Must have a dedicated coffee wall for this monster.
If you hit the left lever to stop the flow at the point you want, does that cause the lever to slam backwards?
No. It just moves up in a controlled manner over 3 or 4 seconds.
FINALLY WE GOT THE DISNEY SONGS BACK!!!
Oh and pretty cool machine as well :P
Somebody check this guys hard drive.
How does the 11bar effect the extraction ?
It's very common with lever machines. Refer to my video recently with samo debunking myths
I understood about 10% of what was said, but thoroughly enjoyed nonetheless!
Lance can I ask does the water on the hot tap come directly from the boiler or is there a mixing valve? Fun fact. I spoke to Antonio today all the way in Scotland. Wonderful man.
Why no link to their website?
Yeah Lance not bad but most of us can't afford this, the problem is the market does not have affordable spring lever machines, let alone ones that do not take up too much counter space. The Londinium Vectis is probably the most affordable spring lever machine that does not take up much space, would love to see a review of this machine!
One is already filmed. But keep your eyes out for the Argos. Even more affordable.
Still ejoy these videos,.I'll never be able to afford a Ferrari, but I'll happily watch the review 😂
@LanceHedrick Please review the Argos! I'm just waiting for someone trustworthy to review it before I buy it
Waiting on Ross to ship me one!
Found Londinium R for sale locally. Now thinking about R24 upgrade, have to order kit from them.
Anecdotal little toot 🤠
oh man i SO much prefer this without a bunch of screens, just due to how quickly aged they all tend to look.
For sure. It's incredible

How to lever profiles on the decent compare to the real thing?
They don't IMHO. I try to do side by sides with all my levers dialing in as similarly as possible.
@@LanceHedrick what’s the major difference in cup?
Where can I find your discord link please
HI Lance, after spending most awake hours thinking about coffee u gave me the balls to purchase an espresso machine 2 weeks ago.
and I just now learned that my most local roaster is KOPPI. Some IG snooping later I see you Lance, appear in the same espresso bar in Athens as my local roaster had been - and that gave me a wierd connection and inspired me to get damn good at coffee!
Koppi is awesome! Anne and crew are lovely. Stoked you brewed some tasty coffee!
Cool you are familiar!🤩 Im still geting there! Learning to make puck prep consistent. Ive gone through a couple of coffeebags and I feel i make something wrong when 8,8µM up or down in grind size makes the difference for 20 sec or 30 sec shot, but I don't even know - wdt feeeels the same??. With steamed milk the 'bad' shots taste fine though! @@LanceHedrick
Can you review the La Marzocco Strada X Acquire?
Why this big guy has not appeared on The Voice or AGT is beyond me... Any plan to review the Lapera in the future Big Lance?
That last note 🎶 was a little over-extracted
How about the Rocket R9 one?
I wonder if i can roll this into a home renovation mortgage 😅
I am going to buy this. I have the descent and the flair 58+ and meticulous on order. My coffee bar will soon be complete on the machines. Wish it was 58mm.
Those others will go largely unused once you have this haha
@@LanceHedrick Why you do this to me? I haven't even gotten my meticulous.
There may be a good reason Antonio opts for 54mm, Lance?
Jack Black is back! Nice voice!
When are we going to have a musical review?
Ngl...working on it
It's my favourite machine. For sure it isn't perfect, but nothing else has come close to the beauty of pulling a shot on this. I'm glad people are starting to notice
What preinfusion pressure have you found fitting for most types of beans? Or do you alter it regularly?
Isn't the pump supposed to stop working as soon as when you left the lever up?
Yes but I stupidly over tightened a screw on the back of the lever that made the little scoop maintain a depression of the button that actuated the pump. User error.
Good catch
@@LanceHedrick 👍🏻
One more thing, do ACS more justice 😁. I mean those guys are top notch when it comes to supporting their customers. They will help you out even after warranty and will walk you through changing anything you need. As for Nurri's, the warranty won't be any different. For example, where I live the warranty is by law two years and after that the customer will pay for everything even check ups. So, it is the same as any other machine's warranty and if you email Nurri, they probably won't help and just send you off to the dealer. The reason why it is too expensive, is because of the middle man and that costs a lot of money. He probably doing this because he doesn't have enough manpower to sell retail and provide the necessary support.
✌🏽
Kees got this kind of Lever machine too, but the damn thing cost a house

Underwear? With silky milky? Too much?
With these prices soon coffee will be a rich man's game. That is the reason why I chose the meticoulous
i don't get why they have to differentiate the group head size for home espresso machines.
Simple. This is a la San Marco group. It's always been 54mm. Before there was 58mm, there was 54mm
Same amount of coffee, right? The 54 is deeper? Are you confident enough as a man, to prefer your 54mm portafilter over a 58?
Ascaso steel duo review still happening?
Soon-ish. I'm on a lever kick. I go where the dopamine is haha!
Man, this might be the machine. I do wish it was smaller, but it would looks great on a custom bar setup...hrmmmmmm.......

Why a 54mm basket?
Very typical with lever machines, especially la San Marco groups. Deeper puck and more body
Im scared to hear the vectis review after you’ve been playing with this monster.
