Just bought one of these in great condition for 100 euro... went to the range and it has gone further than my cobra ltdx max driver I bought in May. cannot believe it... just shows you rick it doesn't matter what technology comes out it all comes down to the golfer and what driver suits them... shocked...
Had my Cobra Fly Z for about 5 months now and it has been my favourite club in the bag. Long and, as custom fitted with a 44.75" shaft it's very consistent and straight! Pure love!!
I picked up the Cobra Fly Z in the winter of 2015, played with it all of 2016-2017 and still plan on having it in the bag for 2018, it is a very long forgiving driver. Thanks for the video's Rick, they are a staple over here in the states.
Killacamfoo O.G. not underrated, taylormade just throws money into advertising at least in the us which is mainly the reason behind the huge popularity, and taylor made does amazing sales for year old sets/clubs unlike cobra, rarely do you ever see a cobra commercial even on the golf channel, but i agree its under used.. to an extent
Buying a cobra this weekend. $179. You can't lose. My G30 will stay at home as a back up. The forgiveness of the G30 is great. Thank you, I really enjoy your reviews.
+Adam Flynn and this is what got me to go with the Cobra...they were less expensive but yet still really really good clubs. I must say that I really did like the G30.....The New Bertha is a "beast and is crazy long but the price is long also.lol

I'm hitting the fly z+ with the weight at the front n I still get surprised how far it can go after having it 3 months!went n bought the 3wood also!both amazing clubs!highly recommend testing them out
I recently had my entire bag stolen so I had to buy all new clubs. I ended up buying a FlyZ driver and 3-wood to match. I hit every driver I could that day, and after putting all the GC2 results together it performed the best for me. R15, G30, Aeroburner, XR, GBB, Alpha 816, Vapor, and the FlyZ. Best advice I ever received for buying golf clubs is hit as many as they'll let you even if the first is the one.
is there an "average distance from pin"? this would sort out the dispersion vs distance argument. as they say the shortest distance to the pin is a straight line
Well you call the 9 yard more distance by the Fly-Z an "improvement" but your dispersion with the G30 was far better. Also, spin rate suggests that the G30 has its CoG further back and is therefore more forgiving. Out of these two Rick should definitely bag the G30.
I'm 1 brand junky. I cannot mix match brand. I'm just like that. If i buy for example callaway, i want only callaway products. from driver to putter/apparel. That being said. After growing up with Jordan Spieth and he won the masters I was like maybe time to get myself a custom fitted clubs that i can improve my golf game. I've been playing with Nike Covert 2.0 clubs, and after seeing these videos, especially Rob Potter I decided to try different clubs, example titleist, taylormade, etc. and the only clubs i can hit solid even without custom fitted was the cobra fly z clubs from driver to irons. got them custom fitted and i am hitting them extra 40 to peaking around 60 extra yards. love these clubs. problem now I don't know what putter that could somewhat match these clubs. Any Suggestion will help.
Regarding the heavier shaft in the Cobra and your comment that it should slow down clubhead speed--doesn't this come down to swingweight, where, if the heads were exactly the same weight, the heavier shaft would give an effective swingweight lower than the Ping, and result in higher clubhead speed? I'm a little older than you (just a little!) and I always remember swingweight being talked about, but no one mentions it anymore.
***** Swing weight is an outdated concept. You can literally have the same swing weight and two clubs will feel completely different because of how the shaft reacts to your swing. Also, even if you have a heavier swing weight. Let's say 210 g clubhead with a 50 gram shaft. You could actually have a lighter swing weight and swing slower because the overall weight of the club is heavier. Let's say a 200 gram clubhead with a 80 gram shaft. I would bet the shaft in the Cobra just matches Rick's swing better that it allows him to eek out that tiny bit more club head speed.
Rick, great stuff! I'd love to see you do a taste test between the G30 LS and the Fly Z Plus (especially with the weight in the forward position). I'm a high swing speed player and love my G30 LS, but still think it has too much spin for me. Love to see what your results are. Cheers!
cobra drivers rule i own one not this one i love it. kickass sound very forgiving. ive driven more greens with mine then any other club. looks hot also.

One of the more interesting comparos I've seen in a while. Good work, Rick!

Cobra is making some of the best equipment in the industry for all skill levels at the moment. Very under rated.

Rick's been hitting it amazingly in these recent videos. Quietened down the overdraw and gained length. Time to fess up on what he's been working on!
Well You've just hit it so pure, its gone to heck!
So Fly Z+ vs G30 LS tec next?
good work rick keep it up
This is exactly the head to head I've been having. Thanks for picking my brain Rick!
You’ve come a long way Rick!
I use the cobra and their fairways...good clubs and not as expensive as ping/callaway etc
+Adam Flynn same here the clubs perform just as good and are much cheaper and they have free upgrades on shafts on their website.

u should think about trying to get a camera that does 60 fps
I'm hitting the fly z+ with the weight at the front n I still get surprised how far it can go after having it 3 months!went n bought the 3wood also!both amazing clubs!highly recommend testing them out
Rick your swing looks amazing now. Dont know if you are changing it but it is really working
the one dislike vote came from mark crossfields. keep up the good work Rick!

Pretty crazy results.mim generally a fan of Cobras products but I did not like this years woods or irons at all.. Thanks for demo.
Can you do the same test with the G30 LS Tec v the Cobra Fly Z+ please?
salut Rick, il y a une grosse différence de distance entre le fly z et le nike covert tour. c'est toi qui a progressé énormément ou le driver ?
The great thing this driver is low spinning and forgiving plus the weight under the driver can be made lighter or heavier
is there an "average distance from pin"? this would sort out the dispersion vs distance argument. as they say the shortest distance to the pin is a straight line
That does it, with the Cobra marked down to $169 time to give it a try.
can you do a nike vapor speed vs taylormade r15 460
Nice Cobra drvier! I love it!
un test pour les clubs Yamaha ?

+3rdgroove I hit the G30...it sucks
William Klosek what went wrong?
Clunky feel to it and the Fly Z hit about 12 yard further per drive...I think the Fly Z weighting system is key to this club....The math makes sense.
Rick, could you do the Fly Z + vs the Ping G30 LS Tec?
Can the face angle be adjusted closed?
I have both drivers. I feel like the ping is more forgiving if you naturally tend to fade.
What the?!?! Such a difference! But... how? Is it possible the Fly-Z hit further because you were more warmed up by then?
Interesting comparison, can't wait for you to bang out the King Cobra ;)
With those spin numbers and distances will we see the Cobra in Ricks bag?
please give the fly z a try one of the top 5 drivers ever
Perhaps do the FLY-Z V M1
Also why did the Ping go in the bag pre the M1?
rick looks so tiered
Just because both shafts say "x" doesn't mean they are the same. There's actually a huge difference between some oems shaft performance
i'm going to buy Fly Z after reading mygolfspy and watching this video
Thank Rick!

Thats what i was thinking on getting. Even Jordan said that is what Rickie uses with his cobra set. guess ill be getting that putter
+jasonman1515 Call your local "Brand Hoes Anonymous" ... lol ;-)
lol damn right
I was hitting my old driver around 235 yard now my cobra driver 285 to 290 yards.

G30 is really easy to hit but dont go so far in carry! Better to be on The fairway instend off pitching out from the forest😄
Victor Eriksson yep distance isn't everything. some of those shots with the cobra could be dead
+Victor Eriksson that has more to do with his golf swing than the driver. No club can correct swing path.
+David Williams Straight is long!
Fly Z is better then Fly Z+. I had both Fly Z with Tour AD Di-6x and Fly Z+ with Tour AD Mj-6x. These combo are $600 each. I saw Fly Z+ and kept Fy Z.
Cobra fly z must have to be going straight into the bag?!
Cobra definitely under rated, the fly z irons are as good as any others out there.
Cobra vs Titleist
I’m looking for a driver replacement club that doesn’t break the bank. I don’t even have a driver in my bag at the moment.
Rick, great stuff! I'd love to see you do a taste test between the G30 LS and the Fly Z Plus (especially with the weight in the forward position). I'm a high swing speed player and love my G30 LS, but still think it has too much spin for me. Love to see what your results are. Cheers!
I'd like to see some ball comparisons.
King Cobra next.....
Rick... wow... a couple months ago you were hitting the fly-z 300. now.. 319? what you doing differently these days?
+Eric Sung Yepp
Hey rick, pls do a titliest d4 review, fan of videos keep it up!
Cobra is love
Cobra shaft is actually 63 grams even tho it says 70. Go look at the specs
Cobra Fly Z+?
Fly Z + is better & longer !!
cobra drivers rule i own one not this one i love it. kickass sound very forgiving. ive driven more greens with mine then any other club. looks hot also.
I think your mic might be too close to your mouth, either that or the gain is too high. Maybe you could stop breathing all together but you know...
+Billsk8 I concur, too close or too much, audio is a bit muffled sir.
