In the end, bike specific stuff is just "any other industry specific stuff" but with a really high mark up. I buy a degreaser that contains exactly the same components as "bike specific" degreasers from the usual brands, but costs about 5€ a liter and it's supposed to be used for industrial machinery.
A tape I find fantastic is Tuck Tape, designed to last forever. I find 1 application will last for years, I have not had to replace a single application. Same price, the tape is used in the construction industry to seal Tyvek.
I've just been using WTB's sealant. Tried Muc-off but it left me walking a couple times so I switched to something thinner. Not a lot of experience with various sealants, though, I do recomment the WTB stuff.

What do you use for the degreaser? I've been paying too much for Muckoff's degreaser. A cheaper option would be nice.
Simple Green Pro HD by the gallon is cheap and safe on metal parts. The Pro HD is a rebranded version of their aviation degreaser
The trick with 8898, tesa 4289, 3M 8992, and various powdercoating tapes is finding them in the perfect width.
Yeah, I liked out. 1" tape was perfect for my gravel wheels.
the 0.18mm high temp PI tape also a great alternative choice

Gorilla Tape also is a killer option that lasts 5+ years. It can get sticky if left in intense heat, but is perfect for cheaper setups.
That's good to know. Thanks!
Good suggestion. There are only so many ways to make tape. And marketing makes bike tape go up.
Now do you have a good tire sealant?

How is the cleanup if you have to remove and re-tape the wheel?
The tape doesn't leave a residue. You do still have the tubeless sealant that dries around the bead to scrape off, though.
great video now I just need to figure out what tubeless rim tape is
Ha!
How many layers for road wheels? One or two?
I did two layers, over top of the factory applied tubeless tape.
Hm, only in 18, 24 and 48mm width available. Not the best alternative for a 25mm rim.
24mm works well on a 25 rim, at least in my experience. YMMV.
Thanks! To reciprocate: Tesa 4289 is also great.
