    Using T25 on the hands, but T100 on the indices is a really odd choice. They should have used T100 on both and don't bother with the lume.

      Nite watches just as bright no lume on bezel but they dont have screw down crowns so there is that
      More options for color combos
      Oh yeah if you want a mechanical watch they use quartz movements from ronda only so thats a drawback i suppose
      Edit: okay so their dive watch does have a screw down bezel, it must be their early watches that didnt my bad.

    4.30 date windows do not work to my eye. Luckily it is not lumed so at least you don't have to look at it in the dark. Thanks for showcasing the lume Peter, a bit of a dogs breakfast in the end.

    I have the same watch and found the date window too small, as you point out. It does have a nice robust feel to it though and it runs well. Good video Pete. 👍

    Thank you for sharing Pete. I have the Aquatico Sea Star with a NH35 and on sale I think I paid $250 from reg of $360 and it is a great watch. This one, although with a better movement and Tritium tubes in my opinion is a little too expensive for this watch. I believe overall it's a nice watch, I would just like to see it priced a little better. Aquatico runs 30% sales often, and on sale it is a much better proposition. Thank you again for sharing and be well my friend.

    For me this absolutely makes sense. The tritium doesn't fade and the regular lume has a brighter initial burst. That way you get the best of both worlds.

    A very nice review. I happen to like tritium tubes but her it ism feeling that they got it backwards. The hands should get T100 and the markers T25. Let's call it a work in progress.

    The first mechanical watch I bought was an aquatico blue angels dark brown and even though I now have many watches that cost many many times the price I find myself wearing it all the time. The brand as a whole...well they offer some watches that are a design disaster (opinion only) and some that are way way to homagey for my liking. That being said I'd buy my blue angels again any day.

  • @AlexanderNekrasov-xu9oe
    @AlexanderNekrasov-xu9oe Год назад +3

    the problem with Tritium is, as anybody who uses tritium sights on a gun knows, it fades with time. It's designed to. And then you're left with close to none. For a gun sight, that's ok - you buy a new one. For a watch, it's a deal breaker for me personally.

    I have researched every tritium watch out there ! Man is it impossible to find a 40mm tritium diver and well in green there is none out there ! .
    I just recently purchased a field watch "GWS H3 G10 " made by microtech a traser brand man is it amazing 40mm T25 tritium , "field watch".
    (200m/T25/screwdown crown and back/saphire) check it out !
    I think the aqautico will be sold cause of the green the 40mm and of course tritium fans .
    After seing those thin hands you are absolutely right and yes very pricey .
    If anyone know of a T100 tritium diver watch that's close to 40mm/200m/saphire / screw down crown and back PLEASE LET ME KNOW .
    I will probably be purchasing this aqautico 😂.
    Thanks for reveiew !

      @cedricduyongco Год назад +1

      @@PeterKotsa Yup, it definitely is a mixed bag. Like Stuart, I do love the combination of BGW9 and Tritium. I have the Aquatico Super Charger in Steel and I believe it has exactly the same mixed BGW9 and T100/T25 combination. It actually works well in normal use case. Again, this may be subjective. In my opinion, the only time it doesn't work well is if you "super charge" the BGW9 with a torch light then the Tritium gets overwhelmed initially. But on normal usage (from the sun, going to darkness, from office light going to basement parking or afternoon to sundown), the Tritium will blend in with the BGW9 and the Tritium tubes will be sufficiently bright to enable reading the time.

    • @Judas_Phart
      @Judas_Phart Год назад +1

      Different watch brands tend to say different things concerning the life span of tritium. I think that the half life is approximately 12 years and they then slowly get duller. When they get too dull, it’s a good excuse to buy another… unless it’s one of the better ones from Ball, then pay to have them replaced… or treat yourself to a new one.

    I like the idea of the watch better than the actual implementation of the features. I think that the rubber strap would be better option (vs the bracelet) in order to cut both the price, and the weight. That date window is super-tiny. While I appreciate the fact that the date wheel is a contrasting color to the dial, it doesn't seem easily legible. I think that in the $800-$1000 market, there are a lot of other watches out there that I would probably choose over this one.

      @ScoobieDoobie197474 Год назад +1

      You have to let your eyes adjust. If you wore a Tritium tube watch in bed and woke up during the night it would seem bright

    • @Judas_Phart
      @Judas_Phart Год назад

      @@ScoobieDoobie197474100% agree.
      Although lume might initially be brighter, as everyone knows, it does fade, and 30-60 minutes later the lume will not be as bright as Tritium. Whereas Tritium will be far easier to see hours later, and you can read the time at a glance.

    Hey Peter, I have been thinking of getting a tritium watch for night driving, is it bright enough to be easily visible against the gauge and dash lights of a vehicle?
    Thank you Sir, great vid

    • @PeterKotsa
      @PeterKotsa  2 года назад

      No it's not. In my experience with this, the room has to be very dimly lit for the tritium to be legible..which is a shame

    • @cedricduyongco
      @cedricduyongco Год назад +1

      I have the Aquatico Supercharger with the exact same tritium lume and dial as this watch and the watch is visible when driving at night. I can send you photos if you want so you can judge for yourself if it is bright enough.
      Tritium Lume is not as bright as Superluminova or Lumibright but it's appeal is that it stays the same throughout the night. On normal use case, I find the tritium to be good.
      I can send you photos of my watch against the dashboard but I can't send links in the comments.

    • @Judas_Phart
      @Judas_Phart Год назад +1

      I have to agree with Cedric that it would be visible when driving at night. I have watches with T100 and T25 tritium tubes and they are visible when driving at night. Tritium tubes are made in different colours, and are graded on colour and brightness. Green is the colour perceived as the brightest by the human eye. Super-LumiNova or different lume used by different watch brands, will look brighter initially, but it fades in a relatively short amount of time, and will continue to fade until it can’t be seen. Whereas tritium will stay the same all the time, and will be easily visible throughout the night. Once your eyes have fully adjusted to the dark, tritium does look bright. If you were in a dark room for 24 hours, tritium would stay the same brightness for the 24 hours, whereas lume would have disappeared long before the 24 hours was finished. I love lume and I love tritium, but if I could only choose one of them, I would definitely choose tritium.

    I've been looking at Aquatico watches recently. Nothing truly peaks my interest yet but they seem to make nice designed quality watches.
    Here however the use of multiple lumes doesn't seem to work for me. The combo looks off. It's a interesting try but unfortunately for me unsuccessful.

    The thing that struck me the most was lack of a color matched date wheel! Not sure about tiny screws on the caseback being better? Guess a watch repair person might know best. I’m worried about them getting stuck and stripping the head.
