When I decided I wanted to hatch eggs and started asking people questions it was so overwhelming all the different information people gave me. Everyone told me something different. The HatchMate has been perfect for me. Read the instruction manual cover to cover and did what it said and BOOM success. I tell people to just go for it and don’t get overwhelmed with all the different info. Great video Daniel!
At 75 years of age I'm attempting to hatch and raise my first chickens. I am so excited about it and going small, only 3-6 chicks. Thank you for the information you shared, just what I needed to know. I got most of my supplies from Amazon and Temu. Eggs came from a farmer on E-Bay. I cannot wait for my eggs to arrive!
PEOPLE, DEFINITELY DO NOT PULL THAT STUCK EGG OFF. SOAK a very warm washcloth on it and get it rehydrated and very gently remove with tweezers!😮 and keep the chick warm , fluff the down up very, very carefully.
Lots of good information Daniel. My Dad use to raise chicken's to sell. Not alot of money back then but it helped add food to the table either by selling or culling a few for family.
My mother and I made one out of a drop light a cardboard box and a blanket. We turned them 4 Times a day by hand she wrinkled them with water. They hat every last one of them 26 Eggs became 26 baby chicks 🐥. I was 4 Years Old. I will never forget the fun I Had.
For me this starts now because chicken now here is around 10euro while eggs are about 1,50 per egg fertelized. If i buy incubator is about 60euros.. while i need at least 15 chickens min for my family only. That means it is cheaper for me to buy eggs and incubate them. Yes, i lose some time, but at the end i have land where i can grow food for them.
Sadly a lot of people have no idea where food comes from. A lot of city people will say it comes from the store or the store warehouse. They are clueless about the farms, ranches, processors, and packaging plants.
Beautiful little chicks. Hello Danial, this is great to learn about incubating eggs. I actually made a home made one a few years ago but i usually let my hens incubate the eggs. 💕 NonnaGrace
Its easier to dry incubate just have tha water tray dry untill the 18th day an then tha last three days just fill tha water tray it made my chicken hatch rate way better.
As a kid I thought my chicks couldn’t get out so I tried to help them get out and ended up killing them. So whatever you do just let them get out on their own
Hey I've been sitting here been watching you came across the one that you went to go visit the exotic animal farm and Houston had gotten a tortoise I hear you talk about Blake and aquascape and all these other channels that you guys go to visit well since Houston loves tortoises and turtles you got to go check out kamp Kenna I would love to see Houston's face when he sees all the different tortoises and turtles that kanon has I think it would be an awesome video and I just think Houston would have one hell of a time I really like to see that video you guys going out to see him
I’ve never had chickens I’m 80 it’s my dream. I would love a pair of Sebastopol geese. Anything you can do to point me in the right direction. Incubator who to get good eggs from. I’ll take your knowledge…HELP.
I had the styrofoam one from Tractor Supply and after my 2 Ayam Cermani out 6 eggs were hatched I threw that nasty thing away! I couldn’t keep the humidity or the heat regulated. It wasn’t any better than a cheap styrofoam ice chest. I will either buy a Hatch mate or a Brinsea next time.
Infertile WILL NOT explode!!! I have a broody that sat on a clutch of egg for over two and a half months and did not explode. Befor that, she sat on a clutch for six weeks before we found where she was hiding, and they didn't explode.
I'm having issues with our incubator. It's an old Humidaire model D. I can't seem to get the balance correct. Either the temperature gets too high or the humidity is too low. When i try to get my humidity to 60% the temp rises with it even though the heat light never comes on. I think the heating element in the water pan is producing too much heat. I keep the pan full. I just can't get the balance right. The original controller gave out and i got an inkbird controller. I may need to move the temperature and humidity probes but I can't figure it out. Before i put the shelves i made for it inside of it, because the originals got lost, i got it prefect. Once i filled in that space it just won't balance out. Before the original controller went out, I hatched out quite a few eggs.
Do you open the eggs to see what might have happened? I would love to hatch eggs out but I live in a apt. by choice if I knew someone I could give them to I would love to hatch them. Looks fun.
A few of my elementary school classes incubated chickens in the classroom. Checking on the eggs every day and watching them hatch was the highlight of my elementary school years. I have never forgotten it.

My. Oldest granddaughter is 29 & never been around farm animals. She’s decided she wants chickens. I support her. I think everyone should learn about them. I love them. Thanks, Daniel, for this very informative video! 💕💕
Babies are so cute !! My friend's son was nine year's and I asked him where do egg's come from. He said, "the egg tree." Daniel is right with teaching children about life. A wonderful video, Daniel.
May God bless you all ❤ God Loves you all so much , remember that God is always with is by our side to help us with anything ❤️ Love and Forgive your enemies as God will Forgive you too ❤
I just love the baby chicks they are so cute! Thank you for showing us step by step on how to hatch them! I'm going to try next spring once I have my yard ready for them this was awesome Daniel! 🥰
I don't understand all the steps and all the technical work with hatching chicks we use a Montgomery ward incubator all you do is 1.fill the water tray up at the bottom 2. put the eggs in the drawers 3. plug the incubator in 4.roll morning and night 5. add water when it is low 6. wait for them to start hatching at 21 day 7. the eggs that have not hatched after 25 day I toss them away
Several years ago I incubated geese and they imprinted on me. They followed me every step I made outside. I fixed them a large open coop for their home. Best watchdogs we ever had!
I learned about chickens the old fashion way. Back before the internet and from being raised on the farm. It’s a myth that you HAVE to dip a chicks beak in water to show them where its at. You don’t dip their beaks in their feeder to show them where that is. It’s called natural instinct. They can detect water by their senses, generally by smelling the water in the atmosphere. A mother hen doesn’t dip her chicks beaks in water. They will find it on their own and once the first chick finds it, the others will imitate. We have probably hatched out thousands of eggs the last 50+ years and have never dipped their beaks in water when they went into the brooder. It’s a MYTH.
Ok, so now I need to move🤷♀️😂 I want to trade in my desk for a ranch with baby chickens 🐓. Great video, Daniel. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge. Have a Blessed Day 😊
🤯😠😡🤬 This is the THIRD time I’ve had to REsubscribe to this channel --I’m just glad after the last time I wrote ur pages name on my “RUclips homesteaders” handwritten list!
I so love watching you all and all the wonderful animals. Its so fun getting to watch how you all live, thank you for sharing your life with all of us.
So I get approximately 4-6 eggs a day from the hens I have. If I want to fill my 30 egg incubator(5 days worth) how do I do this so they will all hatch at the same time?
May God bless you all ❤ God Loves you all so much , remember that God is always with is by our side to help us with anything ❤️ Love and Forgive your enemies as God will Forgive you too ❤
How do you prep your eggs? Do you clean them or just put them in? My chicken seem to muck up the eggs no matter how clean the coop is. I know the bloom is important. But so much different opinions on this. Thanks
I enjoy watching you and your family, knowing you don't have to worry about foul language or inappropriate things, that is a blessing.

I was going to comment that Cassie does great with her HatchMate but you beat me. God bless you all and your family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Ok you should watch my videos. My yt channel is Boyds Outdoors I have over 200 chickens.
Very well explained. Thank you for the share
Thanks so much!
I bought the HatchMate due to Cassie's success with it! I have not tried it yet. :)
Great job Daniel. I know Houston has really enjoyed his incubator. You explained it well. Anyone could hatch chicks. God bless🙏
Daniel excellent timing for this video we're on day 19 for our incubator and my wife is so excited to add to her flock
Egg hatching looks like so much fun and it's such a great teaching tool for kids 😀
Thanks for taking the time to inform us. Even me (who has hatched before) a refresher is necessary

Daniel you explained on hatching your own chicken eggs so. Good ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Good home grown food for your family. Very educational video. Job well done Daniel.
Beautiful little chicks. Hello Danial, this is great to learn about incubating eggs. I actually made a home made one a few years ago but i usually let my hens incubate the eggs. 💕 NonnaGrace
I grew up on a duck farm with 5k ducks. I know they are messy, but the eggs are great for baking. I have not seen you all do any b
Did I just hear you say this process was easy? Holy cow, my brain is fried. I'd never be able to do this!
I love backyard chickens. They sre so helpful
Like how that little chick snagged that fly!
GREAT ADVICE!
Biblically, the chicken came first!
Nice vid- good info
Daniel, you are correct. The chicken did come first. Genesis 1:20 KJV 😊
I WILL NOT ABANDON MY BIBLE. SO GLAD YOU RECEIVED SOME RAIN. PRAYERS DO WORK, GOD BLESS.

Real question which came first chicken or the egg!

Have you ever heard that opening an incubator while eggs are hatching can cool the egg and cause the membrane to shrink around the chick and kill it?
I had that happen on my last hatch : ( it killed 2 chicks
Have you tried the dry hatch method? The last 3 times I have used it with great success.
Knowing your luck with chickens all of them will be roosters! 🐓 🐓 🐓
I’ve never had chickens I’m 80 it’s my dream. I would love a pair of Sebastopol geese. Anything you can do to point me in the right direction. Incubator who to get good eggs from. I’ll take your knowledge…HELP.
Hope you tell us how you got the shell off the chick. Thanks.
Nurture Right 360, is that like a Binford 3000 egg hatcher??? I know bad joke.
I had the styrofoam one from Tractor Supply and after my 2 Ayam Cermani out 6 eggs were hatched I threw that nasty thing away!
I couldn’t keep the humidity or the heat regulated. It wasn’t any better than a cheap styrofoam ice chest.

I’m a try it out
Very interesting 🤔
I hope you let us know about the rest of the eggs , how many stil hatched!
awesome video THANK YOUUUU
Very informative video. Thank you!
I live in SW. MO. and would like to know where you went to the egg auction! I'd like to know.
i love your videos

I would hatch my own but we can't have a roo and limited to 15 hens over the age of 6 months.
Why is it so bad if the incubator runs out of water if you can dry hatch eggs?
Hi Daniel, what happened to the Peacck you guys hatched?
Love ypur videoes x
Hey
It gives you something to do with your shot guns!
which incubator did you get the bigger egg plates for bigger birds
The 2 black chiks what breed are they and can you show us theyre final look i mean adult form of them

Put it on Facebook marketplace. I am sure someone would take them.
@@rhondaborders3452 I live in a apt. I wouldn't have space to put them after hatching as well but thank you.
🤔👉I worked for eXmark great mowers.
What is happening to the Ostrich and Emu eggs? 🤔
Did the peafowl make it?
No your not a dr but please feel free to explain for our benefit😃😉😍
👍
And if all this advice fails, follow the included directions.
@ MrBodyguard380, what to do when instructions are stupid and a person is purely hands and ear learning?🤦♀️😁
Chickens are a hybrid, therefore the egg came first.
What happens if u keep turning the eggs on day 18-21?
Will the egg still hatch?

Humidity 75-80% but yours at 90...lol uhm help. Huge jump lol
You just taught me something I was questioning. BTW can this whole video be applied for hatching ducks?
Awesome video Daniel 👍🤠👍. .
By the way, how is big Joe doing? And the others??have you herd
Any info on them?
Ever since i tried this a a child, I've been hesitant to try again. Thanks for this boost of confidence. My brother cannot mess with them any more.

Great video Daniel thanks!👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯💯
May I reccommend the Bug-a-Salt for those annoying flies? Fun to use. Satisfying results.
Cute chicks. Where is your peacock ?
My 2 granddaughters and I just ordered our hatcher two days ago. They are 3&4 years old and can't wait to get started.
So I get approximately 4-6 eggs a day from the hens I have. If I want to fill my 30 egg incubator(5 days worth) how do I do this so they will all hatch at the same time?
Thanks for the video! Question my eggs were put In on the same day but a couple of my eggs are developing quicker is this normal

came here for the chickens but gollly look at the Bowfishing setup
Thanks man, I bought the incubator a few days ago and I’m incubating them tonight !!
I'm looking for an incubator but I really only need to hatch one to two chicks right now, so I'm trying to find a small one with a turner.
What ever became of the peacock chick that you all hatched out a while back???
I'm curious also. Haven't seen it on any videos, at least that I've noticed.
What Happened to the pea Fowl? I asked about it before Got No reply.
