Warrior movie always makes me cry at the end, and that is something not anybody can achieve. And his Peaky Blinders role is so damn iconic, every time I saw him I just wished he got more screen time

He was more sensible than any other character throughout the entire seasons. I think you should revisit "You Crossed The Line" scene then you would know Alfie Solomon makes more sense than Tommy Shelby.

I've often pondered what exactly makes a talented actor talented, or more specifically what mental process is responsible for what we see. I would presume as it is an art that it would change dramatically based on the individual, the process in which all people exhibit their talents is subtly influenced by an almost endless amount of minor things that attribute to said presentation of whatever talent. I personally find acting as one of the more individual based talents as the success or failure of said actor/actress is mostly dependent upon his/her own abilities( keep in mind I'm sure there are alot of other influences that would improve or hinder an actors success in Hollywood) but I believe upon careful observation of whomever you would pick as your favorite actor/actress you would be able to ascertain to a point how they are able to portray various characters in such an effective manner, although as you stated in your question as to what process in his brain allows Tom hardy to exhibit his talent so effectively is difficult to pin point exactly unless you have a more personal understanding of him as a person, Which for the mass majority of people is not possible unfortunately.

Tom Hardy has a knack of immersing himself so deep in every part that he plays which effectively makes "Tom Hardy" the actor disappear and a character appear who steals every single scene with the stealth of a heat-seeker missile...every performance is 100% captivating.
