This simple rendition was one (of many) highlights in the show. It's so beautifully acted/sung, with subtle hand gestures and eye rolls. It's been reinvented as one of the greatest stage show love ballads. You could see so many people in the audience dabbing their eyes. Perfection.
Try loving over being the one whose loved. Telling someone you love them and keeping your promise for eternity is what it's all about. I love this song and wish I could have seen the stage production of Lazarus.
God I really wish I could see this fucking show. I would pay so much to see it. I moved to NYC this year and of course they don't even plan to revive the show. They really should, I'll fucking make it myself if no one else does. I just need a lot of money and the script and experience and connections and...
Did you just call this musical about an alcoholic alien living in his apartment and imaging about creating a space ship to mars incoherent? I have a feeling you would hate the movie this is based on as well.
It wasn't a mess at all. Made perfectly sense to me. It's the way you look at it. You have to accept that always a part of everyones thinking or a lot of of connections between thoughts are imaginations all the times in interaction. This is a piece of art and it shows real scenes and imagination (of Newton = symbolism for the observer) likewise. It's your turn to sort it out or mix it up with your own imagination and connect the dots. Just a linear "row" of scenes/facts doesn't makes sense of course. It's art, not a lecture. It's formally allowed to use your fantasy and find your own truth in it's complexity.
It will be performed in 2018 in the Netherlands, in English like the original, but with a Dutch cast. That could be a minor point. But with Ivo van Hove.
Many versions of art that any great ... like Bowie and his ilk has created. Re sung gives it life and expanded beauty. Like a plane in flight rather than in a museum, we appreciate it more. It's in our presence our life. Think for a moment how this world would not be as beautiful without nature and song.
Thank you for releasing this! :) (and the other audio tapes as well..) From the future ... (yeah, I'm few years late as always.. :D A bit slow, but.. Better late than never. :))
Lyrics: I've nothing much to offer There's nothing much to take I'm an absolute beginner But I'm absolutely sane As long as we're together The rest can go to hell I absolutely love you But we're absolute beginners With eyes completely open But nervous all the same If my love song Could fly over mountains Could laugh at the ocean s Just like the films There's no reason To feel all the hard times To lay down the hard lines It's absolutely true Nothing much could happen Nothing we can't shake Oh we're absolute beginners With nothing much at stake As long as you're still smiling There's nothing more I need I absolutely love you But we're absolute beginners If our love song Could fly over mountains Sail over heartaches Just like the films If there's reason To feel all the hard times To lay down the hard lines It's absolutely true
I found it pretty cool! Bowie may have enjoyed this version, but nothing comes close to his original voice and interpretation! Beautiful arrangements though! "I Absolutely Love You!"
Does anybody know if there's a recording of the full musical by the original cast in video? I ABSOLUTELY NEED to see this. (Btw, I'm totally crying in here)
there is.. someone ever posted it on RUclips.. but it can't be searched. Only people with the link can view the video. I used to have the link. I'll try to find it for you if you want :)
+Hassan Oan كثير ماحطلع وحده بس زي let's dance, new york's in love من ناحية العرب مو نادر اللي يسمعون له بس قليل.
This is really such a fantastic song...always thought AB was a top 20 song in DB's canon that got lost in a forgotten film soundtrack. This version is fine, I guess, a bit less grandeur in the instrumentation than I'd prefer.
Like the vocalist and this is one of my fav Bowie songs(the composition reminds me Labyrinth era Bowie)....but Im not digging this cover....thought I would but nope. Dunno if its the mix or the arrangement or what. Feels hollow and empty of impact.
No sean sopes.
Adriano Vaz I saw it yesterday and the band was pretty good. In the context of the show's story the upbeat nature of this cover works pretty well. The rest of the music wasn't preformed this boppy.
Remember that D. B oversaw the production and okeyed the choice of Micheal C Hall. If he thought that this is not doing justice to his creations he wouldn't have let it go through
Michael C Hall is really doing him justice here. I love it!
Ada!!!!
You should have heard them live, fkn awesome, his voice was too powerful for the theatre in London 🥰🥰❤🌹
I really like this version of the song.

Creative, honest, forthright, and beautifully sung. This is such a beautiful song . I do wish I'd been able to see the stage production of Lazarus.
Bowie didn't even have to try, yet everything he made is goddamn ethereal.
I had no idea Michael C. Hall is so brilliant.
So well done. This soundtrack is just beautiful ❤ So wish I'd seen this show on stage. Hope we a DVD!
love this song, and seeing Michael c hall sing this at the weekend was amazing, the flood gates opened and all I could see was David bowie.
Breathtaking. I appreciate Michael’s talent and how he brings David’s music to life
Miss you, David.

Absolute Beginners a song of songs. I really like the Lazarus production version of this song. (I also enjoy listening to the movie version).
The beginning acapella always gives me goosebumps.
This is my Wedding Dance song 😍😍😍

Saw it the other night in London, it was everything I was hoping and more.
Eric Newman wow I'm jealous

Omg I love this version 😍😍
Thanks Michael Hall !! Excelente version ! Un artista completo !
This was beautiful, I loved it! Thank you, and thank Bowie for this treasure!
I absolutely love you...
Wow very good version of a great song.
it hurts even more now than the day he passed.
miss you so much :'(
Thank you for releasing this! :)
(and the other audio tapes as well..)
From the future ... (yeah, I'm few years late as always.. :D A bit slow, but.. Better late than never. :))
i love him
Hey, I'm late but is there somewhere I can watch the musical? I'd love to pay but I don't know if it was even recorded
Lyrics:
I've nothing much to offer
There's nothing much to take
I'm an absolute beginner
But I'm absolutely sane
As long as we're together
The rest can go to hell
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
With eyes completely open
But nervous all the same
If my love song
Could fly over mountains
Could laugh at the ocean
s
Just like the films
There's no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true
Nothing much could happen
Nothing we can't shake
Oh we're absolute beginners
With nothing much at stake
As long as you're still smiling
There's nothing more I need
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Sail over heartaches
Just like the films
If there's reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true
Really good
R.I.P David we miss you
Bravissimi

Fancy really very much.
Dexter can sing! I love it.
Teus Stolk Yah - check out him singing songs from "The Cabaret"
Hugs and Love to you x I changed my lense. x see you in Bali x Jenza.
to listen
I found it pretty cool! Bowie may have enjoyed this version, but nothing comes close to his original voice and interpretation! Beautiful arrangements though! "I Absolutely Love You!"
Live version from the BBC Radio Theatre show circa 2000 is even better
Does anybody know if there's a recording of the full musical by the original cast in video? I ABSOLUTELY NEED to see this. (Btw, I'm totally crying in here)

THÉ GOLDEN CHILD WAS THE ONLY SURVIVER OF A FAMILY MASSACRE
+Hassan Oan اي
+Hassan Oan كثير ماحطلع وحده بس زي let's dance, new york's in love

🔊🎼😊💞💕💓
Just doesn't compare to the original...can't improve upon perfection, but the sentiment is appreciated.
It sounds very similar to the original version of the song.
hell yeah kisses to u @ll what a fucking good world and nice Bitches everywhere
Like the vocalist and this is one of my fav Bowie songs(the composition reminds me Labyrinth era Bowie)....but Im not digging this cover....thought I would but nope. Dunno if its the mix or the arrangement or what. Feels hollow and empty of impact.
That's because it isn't really a cover - it's being used as a song in a musical, it's going to be very different.
No sean sopes.
Everything's alright except the Bop-bop-uh chorus, sounds so weak in this version.
Very lame band arrangement and a dreadful mix
Adriano Vaz

Oh,no no this one.Bowie and Ann Dorsey.
Dexter Morgan
God died the day Bowie died.
Hell YES!!! The one and only GOD.
I love Bowie as much as any fan and I'm sorry, that's just a crazy statement.
Bowie did't die, his soul, spirit and especially his music are immortal, as well as his memory in our minds!!
absolute MIchael C. Hall destroy a classic of bowie. he must not imitate the voice of the white duke
I disagree...this is the real Michael's voice, not an imitation of Bowie...simply talented actor and singer, so close! ;)
Remember that D. B oversaw the production and okeyed the choice of Micheal C Hall.
If he thought that this is not doing justice to his creations he wouldn't have let it go through
