I'm a bit more blind than Josh, starting to do some open mics, and appreciate that there's someone in comedy like me. Josh, if you see this, don't stress about maintaining independence. No lie, it's fucking hard sometimes, but trust me you can do it if your sight gets worse.

I have moderate blindness. My prescription is -5.25 in both eyes. I am nearsighted. I wore glasses from 3rd grade until 11th grade. I didn't want to be a "nerd" anymore so my Mom took me to the eye doctor & we got contacts. It was so hard for me to put them in, but I was determined! Now, I'm 35 years young & refuse to wear glasses. I wear the 1 month wear contacts, (of course I go over the time a lot because contacts are expensive, but thankfully my eyes are healthy as they can be.) I feel like contacts protect my eyes & when I remove them to put a new pair in, I feel my eyes are naked & I don't want an eyelash or anything to get in so I get those new contacts in ASAP lol!
My vision went from -5.25 to -5.50 in 5 years, so I think I'm doing alright, but man am I blind! I can't see a damn thing so I am very grateful for contacts 🙏
