  • This is a transcription of Vocalstyle Piano Roll 50505 as recorded by "Jelly Roll" Morton in early June 1924. The roll was originally transcribed by Artis Wodehouse. I left out a bit of the first part because of time constraints - I'm entering this in a competition, and only videos of less than three minutes are encouraged. Sorry!

Nice performance. It's so much fun to pursue this novelty era because we're exactly 100 years away from it and it's largely forgotten. Also, I was surprised to see such a nice sound coming out of a digital piano!
