Thank you for making these videos. I enjoy fishing. I enjoy camping at the coast. My trips out on boats have been painful experiences due to sea sickness. I believe I would truly enjoy surf fishing so I poked around looking for info and came upon you videos. I truly appreciate you doing this.
Thanks for helping me out on surf fishing my wife and I just moved to seaside this year I never done this type of fishing and you have made my efforts a successful time out on the beach
Just found your channel and loving the videos. First time I found someone who uses the same rig as I do here on the California Central Coast. Will be using a few of your tips. Thanks again.
PK YOU ARE A CREDIT TO THE FISHING COMMUNITY MY FRIEND WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO FISH IT WAS YOUR CHANNEL WHO TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING ON BEACH FISHING SETTING UP LINES.{ I HAVE MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEMS NO FISHING NOW} NOW BUT I STILL LIKE LOOKING AT YOUR FISHING VIDEOS TAKE CARE FRIEND
Thank u so much I learn so much from u, also my favorite bait which is so affective are sandworms but in New York a dozen live worms are about $14.50. The gulp worms you are using is a great alternative. Again thank you.🎣🎣love your videos.
Lori Coletto hi Lori, I live in New York. I just started surf fishing in north shore Long Island. I guess there are porgies there. Would gulp sandworm work on those too? I have berkey swimming mullets but I don’t think those would work
i enjoyed watching your video i love fishing i always find time if i'm not golfing and my photography i'm from NJ i surf fish for striped bass and blue fish and i fish with my friends boat for porgy black sea bass and fluke i also do the same rig for porgy thanks again keep on fishing....
Excellent excellent video. These are same gulp worms in using on central coast in California. For some extra fun try a sabiki rig on the surf, totally unconventional but works so well! These gulp works work incredibly though!
Good video. I would have used a swivel snap to fix the lead to the rig to help counter any line twist. The only issue I have is when you snip the line end - there’s enough plastic already in the sea guys, make sure you take home any little bits of line or vany other rubbish and dispose of it properly.
I bumped into your channel by mistake. And I'm glad I did it's very fun watching you fishing and I like that you cook the fish at the end but how come when you started to say the ingredients that you're using you turned off the vice or made it faster we would like to see what ingredients did you use.
really injoy your videos, speaclly when you take your son with you.. I like fishing for trout here in Southern Utah..For sue i'll be coming back. Dwayne
Hey great idea, but then again the scent of the gulp liquid is no longer there to attract so, I would rather catch more fish with scent even if it means going through more gulp what do you think?
PK love your vids! I live on the Oregon coast in the Tillamook area and rent crab boats, I would love to hook you up with a crab boat rental with some rings and bait!
Interesting idea drying the sandworms. Others say to never allow Gulp to dry out, it will shrink and become rock hard. I found a 3 inch mullet in the back of my tackle box that shrank to less than an inch, like a hard plastic!! Guess they were right!! I've found the Gulp baits so darn slippery they are sometimes difficult handle and hook properly. I like your idea but how long do they keep, do they eventually shrink up like my one mullet??Thanks in advance for your vids. A great help for someone returning to fishing after a long hiatus.
I don't dry them out completely. Maybe 2-3 hours depending on weather. If you leave out for too long, them become super hard and won't be able to bait them. Maybe you can re-dip them in the Gulp juice if that happens. But once dried partly, they work great, and they save me a ton of money. Still using the same package from 2 months ago, and I surf fish about 2 a week.
As I dont do sea fihing but am soon moving to Texas any tips like these are very usefull to me. Are these plastic? And why would a plastic (if they are) bait last longer if they were dry? They are going to be wet soon enough as it is. And probably been in the bag for MONTHS.
fascinating you have invented something so the plus side is that they are tougher and stay on hook longer, but I need to ask you , if the attractant scent is not diminished or completely lost once you dry them out thanks
ill be in newport next weekend, could you point me towards a good beach or area to give this a try for the first time? love your vids, made me dream about doin some of this stuff!
I really appreciate the education you provide. You are very detailed and specific which I appreciate being new to the sport. I haven't gone surf fishing but I am ready to try. One question I currently have a 7'0 rod. Will this work with 30# braid? or do I need to get a larger rod?
Could be a little more detailed and slow down. I know how to do a dropper loop but if I didn't I would have missed how you started it. Oh I forgot the thank you for sharing your valuable tips with all of us! Keep it coming!
So if your letting them dry out,can you then just re use your bait on your hook, day after day as long as it's not torn up,if your not getting hit? How often should you change it then?
@@oregonlife Thank you ..I spent the weekend at Rincon beach....the tide beached everthing you threw out went south and headed for the shore.plus no sand crabs...spent Thanks Giving and my 60th B.D. It is a beutifulful here depict the fires.but the fishing sucks.
Quick question; is he casting it out there and slowly retrieving it? Or is he just leaving it there? I can’t tell cuz he cutting the vid to right before he set the hook...
Good afternoon, very cool, that fish with the worms, It will be that here in Brazil, too, does it catch? As is the work of stick, is just to hurl, or need to collect constantly? Thank you beautiful, my friend.
What do you do with the sandworms that you used after you're done fishing ? throw it away ? let it dry on the hook and use it again the next trip ? or unhook it and dry it up for the next trip ?
Do I need some sort of validation/endorsement to use 2 hooks on 1 line? I plan on doing some fishing along the Oregon coast as well, this video was very helpful. Thank you.
PK Yi thanks for the reply sir. Maybe some day I’ll see you out there! I’ve never surf fished but I’ve officially got all my gear ready so now it just comes down to when I got time.
It appears to me that the fish hit the worms pretty quick. If that's the case why not just use a 1/4 or 3/8 oz. Jig with the worm on it. Seems like you could cast and work it more efficiently and quicker to cover more ground.
I do pretty good with those sandworms but the bigger redtails love live sand crabs...i fish up in crescent city, ca and we catch big redtails..10in to 18in sometimes..
I have been doing it wrong all my life 😢. Thank you 🙏. This information is super helpful. 😊
Not only did I learn
I got a piece of the ocean
Thanks for sharing

Marty Martin Hey Marty mart that's the same rig I use in VA.
I like how you release the fish w care instead of just tossing them back. 👍
Thanks for the tips! I’m about to head to California and Oregon for my first time fishing in the ocean (Colorado fisherman) and this is a big help.
I like it ..you teach everyone know how to fishing thank you …but somebody they are not like you they don’t teach people how to fishing..

PK thank you for another great video. Can you make a video on how to clean your real after you return home from Surf Fishing?
You're a beast buddy. Thanks for the great tips. Will subscribe.
Hi PK. Do you have a video on how to read the beach?
I made a quick basic one here: ruclips.net/video/AqXfJyE6Gro/видео.html
simply the best, thank you friend is 100% great! you are the best, once again thank you very much for your teachings
Thank You Master Yi , such an awesome video Sir .
I couldnt keep my mind off the the 2 empty heinekens on the table . Thats my beer and ive been 16 weeks without one. ahhhh!!! mercy!!
Excellent video! Thank you for the education.
Very well put together tutorial thank you...question what technique do you use? do you leave the line or slowly reel in?

Nice catch bro
How do you hold the rod when both of your hands are clearly in the video handling fish
Under his arm, that's what i do anyway 😄
Nice video, Thank you...greetings from Lima - Perú
Greetings! Wow, that's far!
Thank you. Going to try today
Hey pk love your vids, you gotta come up to Pacific city and do a video. I live hear, that would be awesome!
Good video keep up the good work
Hey great idea, but then again the scent of the gulp liquid is no longer there to attract
so, I would rather catch more fish with scent even if it means going through more gulp
what do you think?
Maybe. People's mileage will vary, but I haven't noticed any decrease in fish caught. It still smells like a monkey's ass even if partially dried.
Steve Tautog omg lol No wonder I catch so many fish in the surf
PK love your vids! I live on the Oregon coast in the Tillamook area and rent crab boats, I would love to hook you up with a crab boat rental with some rings and bait!
That would be great, thank you. If I go there in the fall, I might take that offer. Tight lines.
Hi. Thanks but can i used this if i d'ont moving it...?
The fish can take this statique sandworms
Thanks
I do a similar thing i the uk. I leave for a few minutes, if no bites I reel in a bit. It covers more ground and catches fish. Happy fishing.
Great videos keep it up .
Thanks for sharing information.
thank you love your video's ,

And also could you tell us how you know the male Red Tail from the female.
I only recognize them from the fish eggs. If they're carrying any ??
fascinating
you have invented something
so the plus side is that they are tougher and stay on hook longer, but I need to ask you , if the attractant scent is not diminished

they still stink to high heaven even when dried out. you can dry them out and sniff it if you don't believe me
ill be in newport next weekend, could you point me towards a good beach or area to give this a try for the first time? love your vids, made me dream about doin some of this stuff!
I've fished at Nye Beach in Newport and do OK there. You can try Lost Creek too south of Newport.
look forward to it! thanks
This gulp bait are flounder magnet too. Try and you will see how good they are

how far do you have to be out in the water

So if your letting them dry out,can you then just re use your bait on your hook, day after day as long as it's not torn up,if your not getting hit? How often should you change it then?
Yes. if they are still in good condition, I re-use them over and over. saves me so much $ doing it this way. good luck

Hi there. I've heard barbless hooks are kinder on the fish but I'm afraid of losing them in the fight. Does anyone have any opinion?
Look into Circle hooks. Also kinder on the fish, and you won't lose them.
@@ClassicalQuack Thanks for your reply. I'll be off to the tackle shop later.
Thanks. Great info. What tide do you find the best fishing. Mahalo
incoming high tide is best.
Quick question; is he casting it out there and slowly retrieving it? Or is he just leaving it there? I can’t tell cuz he cutting the vid to right before he set the hook...
After the bait lands, I leave it there for a brief moment, up to about 1 minute and no more. Then I reel in slowly, pause - rinse and repeat
Oh okie thank you! I will give it a try.
Nice video 👍👍
What size pole? Medium heavy? What size braid and mono? Thanks
Evz K 7-9 ' 20 lb braid main line 15 lb mono leader
Good afternoon, very cool, that fish with the worms,
It will be that here in Brazil, too, does it catch?
As is the work of stick, is just to hurl, or need to collect constantly?
Thank you beautiful, my friend.
These sandworms should work anywhere.
I'll try, thanks
What pound test do you use as leader?
15# mono
Lb test liter line?
Thanks for the great video!
Which do you prefer, gulp shrimps or gulp sand worms?
Hard to say, they both work equally. Shrimp if I had to choose.
Hey PK I just wanted to say when you tie your fishing rigs its to fast I cant follow it
What lb test ?
Thanks for this great video one question so do you just cast out and slowly reel it in
What size are the hooks?
What do you do with the sandworms that you used after you're done fishing ? throw it away ? let it dry on the hook and use it again the next trip ? or unhook it and dry it up for the next trip ?
I use them until they are pretty worn out, at which time I just toss them.
Do I need some sort of validation/endorsement to use 2 hooks on 1 line? I plan on doing some fishing along the Oregon coast as well, this video was very helpful. Thank you.
For surf fishing on the Oregon coast, you don't need to have any special validation for multiple hooks on 1 line.
How far can you throw baits away?
will this setup work with fishing blues and stripers ?
it might. i have caught striper on the high low rig. actually i use up to four even five hooks. but if i targeted them i'd use a slider rig.
yes and many other species
Can you eat the silver perch?
Sure. They are good eating
How many pound do you use
4:55 Laughing so hard my eyes are watering...
Pompano rig! Very effective!
I do pretty good with those sandworms but the bigger redtails love live sand crabs...i fish up in crescent city, ca and we catch big redtails..10in to 18in sometimes..
xiongstaboi87 ware in crescent city do u perch fish ?
Do you get wind knots when you cast with braid?
no
daniel sakamoto ive never got one before
Hello Goodnight
I want to know what fishing rod you are using
Greetings from Peru
Cabela's Tourney Trail IM8, 10 foot.
Hi Bong, I see you slow retrieving. Will bait and wait work with these sandworms also?
Yes, it will.
Hey PK what time of day or tide or season should I surf perch fish?
Couple hours before high tide. Time of year doesn't matter
