There's a movie, also called "Serenity", that can be watched after you finish the series. It helps answer some questions and tie up some loose ends. A "one way push" means the ship will get to a destination world, but not have enough fuel to do much flying afterwards.
I'll definitely watch Serenity after I finish. And thanks for the clarification, I wasn't sure if it meant the ships were Jerry rigged to only really make it once and would break down after
Place mats sometimes have names on them. If they saw the names Simon or River they would know that they were on board. How reevers became reevers is one of dozens of story lines that Joss Whedon intended to develop in the first 2 or 3 years of the series including Shepherd's past, Inara's reason for leaving the civilized planets, possible romances between several members of the crew....etc. He never got to finish most of them because Firefly was cancelled. Three years after the series was cancelled a movie was approved (Serenity) and Joss got to complete a few story lines, but not many. There were a lot of story lines that fans asked about during ComiCons and Firefly reunions. Joss explained where some of the storylines were meant to go, which is where a lot of information (spoilers) comes from that viewers like me will tell you after you watch a particular episode. Most of the time each episode is filled with hints (easter eggs) that usually go unnoticed by the viewer, but after a while you start to suspect that there is something there, but you can't pin it down. Most Firefly reaction viewers here are pretty good at keeping spoilers from you. Most of your viewers know the answers to the questions you ask, but won't tell you if it affects future episodes (spoilers).
You're asking all of the right questions about Reavers. At this point in the show, no one really knows, In fact, if you lived on a Central Core planet, the official answer would be that they are a myth and don't even exist! The reason that you saw the official flip his script so quickly was that in his world view, Reavers were fake and he just saw a man turn into what seemed to fit the description of one right in front of him. Instead of busting Serenity and crew for the many other things that they were guilty of, he pretty much let them go because his world view had been blown.
Yeah, I would have expected there to have been signs of a struggle, blood, sonething. This one definitely seems to have flaws in the story, because I don't think Reavers would have cleaned up after themselves... I think they made the choice to have no sign of struggle etc to heighten the tension and spookiness, which definitely worked. And as part of a trap, maybe the Reavers would indeed clean up any mess.
Obviously you've never been arrested for even a speeding ticket. The reason for looking under placemats and stuff is they don't know what they'll find. Maybe a map of those troublesome nooks and crannies, maybe an old bill of sale to the guy they murdered and stole it from, maybe a napkin with "Kilroy was here with Simon and River Tam." They don't knw, Please tell me you are not a cop.:)
I'm not sure it's that serious, all I said was "obsession" "animesque" and "borderline" cringe. That's my only real criticism of his character so far, I've watched other shows where one characters storyline is centered around their deep love/concern for another family member and the vibes aren't the same. I'm sure I'm not the only one picking up on the "cringe" factor of it, but maybe I am, either way it detracts from the show none and I enjoy it the same.

That's true, didn't even think about that

I'm really hoping we get to see them at some point this series!
@@WereintheBasement The Reavers are/were the biggest mystery of "Firefly"...
Damn, guess it leaves something for the off chance they ever decide to relaunch the show at least
Never, EVER insult Serenity in front of Kaylee.

Lot of spooky vibes, I wasn't really sure what to expect
@@WereintheBasement Not bad for a just-after-the-turn-of-the-century, "mere network TV show," eh?
I'm definitely enjoying it, I'm a big BSG guy and I can see how much this show influenced the cinematography of the BSG remake

That makes more sense, in my mind they were just searching for Simon and River 😂
there is nothing sexual in how simon treats river, and it's really sad that that's where your mind goes.

"Bushwhacked": What Fox TV did to "Firefly." A lively game leads to a derelict space ship and a hidden danger...
