  • Engine house of Museum of Transport and Technology MOTAT Auckland, New Zealand. Info on the beam engine from Daniel Hicks: "...The beam engine has high pressure cylinders of 26 inch bore and 5 ft stroke, and low pressure cylinders if 42 inch bore and 7 foot stroke. For maintenance the connecting rod could be disconnected and swung out of the way and half the engine run!"

LOVE Victorian beam engines! Not only did they have to do a job, they also had to be a peice of art!!! Thanks for sharing Wes.

That's the fun thing about steam engines. They're can be either way quieter or way louder than an internal combustion engine depending on the load and application. Always fun to work with... until they're not. :D

    Bonjour Wesley,
    Noisy engine ! I prefer steam 😁
Why would not you use this special wood for your boiler ?
