Food-themed Artillerist Artificer. Spicy pepper sprayer for the flamethrower turret, candy blaster for the force ballista, giving the party temp hp via a snack dispenser.

I turned a Battlemaster Fighter into a time manipulator once. Never got to play them, but it was a fun idea and holding on to. Gyro the Timeblade will see a campaign one day!

You know, I really feel like you could make a Ben 10 Druid if you re-flavored beasts as aliens, I’ve never even thought of that that sounds so cool

Buzzing to write a backstory off this for my fighter 👌🏻

I haven’t jumped too deep in the flavoring, but that’s just because I never have enough campaign for characters. Someday I will make a forest based artificer, but for now we got my mycelium Druid, who all of his wild shapes are made from collected animals bones.

I'm currently playing a form of the cheat wizard because I'm not playing a wizard, my party just think I'm a wizard because my archfey dad is casting my spells for me. I'm actually a wild magic barbarian. It's such a fun concept to play at the table

I just started playing in a DC20 campaign where I’m playing a tattoo artist bard. Their tattoos each correspond to a spell they use. Hearing about the tattoo Artificer was really cool.

I love the idea of a spellcaster needing to find special items to level up. I always use milestone levelling when I DM but I never know exactly when I want my players to level up. But if I give them a very clear goal like collecting specific thing to gain more power, I think that would really help my players stay on track.

I also built a bugbear giant's might barbarian for a cyberpunk setting. 05-CR lived in a dumpster and would throw stuff from inside while bellowing "SCRAM!"

I built a vengeance paladin for a cyberpunk setting, and I flavored all his abilities as nanotech. He was kinda like a cyborg bounty hunter. It was pretty cool to summon a "steed" where the nanites deconstructed materials in the environment to build his mount.

My Artillerist Artificer was a wand-maker and had multiple wands which contained a few of his spells. He had a fire wand that let him cast various fire spells and be the Flamethrower. And he had a telekinesis wand that let him cast his thunder spells, his Mage Hand and be the Force Ballista.

I’ve been dipping my toes more and more in reflavouring classes/subclasses for my characters. This has mainly been because of these videos. So, thank you very much for your content 😊
I have been trying to think of a way to do a character I’ve been working with. She’s a character (thinking sorcerer) who’s magic is basically her overactive and vivid imagination come to life. Maybe more illusion and enchantment (maybe transmutation) magic. Basically, she read too many books growing up, so she’s walking around with her imagination, and maybe occasionally daydreams a little too much, and that manifests into reality.
I was wondering if you had any thoughts on which classes/subclasses I could play with for this? Aberrant Mind and Lunar Sorcery came to mind, but a circle of dreams Druid had also interested me.
Any way, thanks again for the videos.

i had made a champion fighter based on the samurai of old yes i know the samurai class does exist but it wasn't exactly doing it for me so i made one by the end of the campaign i had a vorpal greatsword (katana) and a yumi bow which we reflavored as a great bow a d12 bow that has a strength requirement and can use str instead of dex while he was strong and durable he was no brute he was a tactician that the party was glad to have around

I love taking one class and making it seem like another. Almost every Warlock I've ever played has either thought they were or pretended to be another class. My Archfey Warlock thought they were a Druid, my Celestial Warlock seemed like a Cleric to most onlookers, my Hexblade Warlock pretended to be a noble Paladin.

I once played an Artificer that found a Staff of the Woodlands and since it's a powerful magic item that only Druids can use, I decided to dip one level in Druid to use it. But then I started taking more and more levels in Druid and we joked that my character was being forced to become a druid by the staff itself. It was a very fun character to explore. A friend of mine did the same when he played a Barbarian that found a magical weapon and started taking levels in Hexblade after that. In both instances the DM just gave us a magic item and thought nothing of it but we decided to make the magic items more powerful than they were originally meant to be and it made our characters more fun.

I mean, doing a character who gained it's power by hijacking a villains wish spell. Proceeds to rewind time, train for like 20 yrs, and plans to defeat him.

I played a Gnome Berserker Barbarian once who was raised by warrior dwarfs and his Rage was just him going into a dwarven combat focus and he got a level of Exhaustion because his smaller body wasn't suited for this dwarfish fighting style.

Warlock Idea: Combining the "Mortal" with the "Bond", a warlock whose patron is a Vestige or Quasi-deity manifested as an innocent child that they've chosen to protect from those who wish to harm them or abuse their power.
