Just wished this tech was around in the 70’s/80’s the yards would’ve been so different. Great video in documenting, after seeing Network rails efforts, with all the virtu signaling HSE & buzz words, these videos are a breath of fresh air.
It used to be massive in the 60s with the TMD and marshalling yard. Now, its Port Talbot's only hope, to become a huge yard again for container shipping port, now that the steelworks is going.
I was hoping you might have done Knuckle yard as I've never seen the far end! It's so much quieter there than even 5 years ago. Shame you weren't filming there last Thursday morning as you'd have got a Colas 56 on empty logs on the main passing 60024 shunting the yard....!! 😊
Would love to see some of the more unique to steelworks internal lines such as crucible cars near the blast furnace, though I don't know what permissions you're working with. Was interesting as always to see from the air an area you usually only glimpse through trees.
